Hello! In this video I explain how we used our air conditioner to stay comfortable while camping in our huge Ozark Trail tent in the middle of summer, in 107 degree weather!! We used a 10 k BTU AC, see link below:

Im moving outside in the backyard to rent my room out for extra income and have been thinking about this for over a year now. Prices are thru the roof and its my only option. But im glad i saw this video because im going to live in a tent with my ac unit and this video helps so much.

No way! It’s so funny you said that because I’ve been thinking about living in my travel trailer for a year or two while I rent out my house just so that I can save some cash and get caught up on a few things. Now you got me thinking about it again! I hope it works out well for you!

Your setup there looks good and quite comfortable. Duct tape is truly one of the best inventions ever LOL; I use it a lot myself. Nice post. Have a blessed night. ✌

Hi whatcha up to hope all is well sending up prayers 4 yall also the tarps yall can buy some of them bungees the kind with ball on one end and a loop on the other end to use the tarp tie points to the frame of ur canopies however not sure if u want to use velcro to the canvas cus it will cus it to tear the fabric if said wind gets up however the extra of the tarps can be rolled up and duck/guerrilla 100 mph tape and tape to it's self if yall r not gonna use the tarps but only 4 the roof / ceiling however that's my opinion tho and keep praying and keep walking tall always and cool cool tent cabin and camp on 🚌🌅🌌⛺🌄🏞🏖 👍👍💪🙂👍👍

Cool fact, did you know that if you use the AC in a white tent, the temperature will be able to cool down faster and the cold air inside the tent will last longer because white tents reflects a lot of sunlight, reducing heat absorption, keeping the inside of your tent cooler. If you have a darker colour tent the sun that is shining on the tent will absorb a lot of heat causing the inside temperature to get warmer by radiating the heat everywhere making it harder for the AC to cool down your tent and the cooler air won’t last as long. Another option you can do is add a white tarp on top of the tent if the tent is not white for the white tarp to do the sunlight reflecting instead. 👍

@outdoormary yeah not a problem at all I am actually more than happy to help 😊. Just to know this to keep in mind, having anything thing on something that is white reflects the sunlight back to space keeping things colder, it is just like how snow on the ground during the winter keeps the temperature colder because of its high albedo of reflecting the sunlight back to space due to the snow being white.

Very nice setup, looks so cozy in there! I needed this video for ideas, my son and I will be camping for a week at Padre Island this July and the heat will be brutal. Plan on getting a 5000btu window unit for our tent. I'm just curious what power source you are running yours on. I have a 2500w inverter generator and I'm hopping that will be enough. We won't be using a fridge or microwave so I think it should work. Luckily our tent has a mesh window that's just the perfect size for a small window unit. Probably use pool noodles to seal it off.

Sounds like y’all are going to have a good time! This particular campsite had power to run the AC. That being said , at another campground I did use our 3150w generator to power the AC, and it worked just fine, and our AC is 10k btu. So I’m assuming you should be fine to run a 5k btu with your generator. Don’t forget to add a tarp under the rainfly to help keep the cold air in. Happy camping!!

I would def consider getting some silver shade cloth to drape over your tent...it's not that expensive and works amazing.

Not everyday luckily, but yes, that heatwave was brutal while it lasted. That cheap Walmart AC kept up well though.

It’s the Ozark Trail Flat Creek 12 person tent sold by Walmart. But unfortunately it looks like they may have discontinued this because it’s been out of stock for several months now.
