💀 In 1961-62, anthropologist Hendrick (Hal) Serrie introduced solar energy cooking technology in Teotitlan del Valle, a Zapotec village in Oaxaca, Mexico.
💀 He taught villagers how to construct solar cookers using local materials and techniques, setting up local production. Then he analyzed the utility of solar cookers as appropriate technology in this natural and cultural environment.
