In that era where people were mad about white skinned girls, Lucky chose dark skinned girl in this video.. Just proves that he is way ahead of his time and his mindset is like the one of this time…we shout to end racism now.. He did it 20 years ago.. just wow!!!!
Look at Lucky's choice of destination...Cuba. How unique he used to be even at that time! And that's why even Hollywood picturization is nothing in front of this masterpiece.......
Latin america is magical in term of of music dance tv shows only fews knws dats atlst in india, even in miami (usa ) clubs played cuban music ,nd dance as well
he ended up his ALL earnings for his albums location... at the time the Bollywood even never had the sense of outdoor locations ... such he did in his all albums great ... chheeerssssssssss
This song was so much ahead of its time. Imagine it was released in 2000 & it still sounds as fresh as it was when it was released. Everything about this song - shooting locations of Havana, Cuba, singing of Lucky Ali & music of Mikey McCleary is magical. But I want to specially focus on incredible guitar 🎸 played by legendary Kalyan Barooah & extremely talented Chennai Born Mumbai Based New Zealander Mikey McCleary who composed music for almost all songs of Lucky Ali. Mikey is so talented that he has played Bass Guitar & Keyboards in this song also apart from Acoustic Guitar. It is by far one of the best composed songs of Lucky Ali. What a brilliant brilliant composition. It’s in my all time top 10 songs list.
In those times, certain singers had a virtual monopoly with music directors, singing entire movie songs one after another broadly delivering the same idea of music (Different cooks, same recipe). Lucky ali almost emancipated an entire generation of 90s kids from the usual romantic, I-will-end-the-world-for-you bullshit . He blew me away as n 8 year old kid and the idea of music he conveyed transcended generations. It was raw, it was different, it was liberating, it was something we hadn't heard before. Sadly, as a country, we went musically backwards, corrupted by vulgar songs, meaningless lyrics and music which delivers nothing to the soul !!
I feel you bro. When I was very little I heard O Sanam. I couldn't listen that song for many many years and I used to think it was some dream. The next time I discovered that song, something in me was satisfied.
There is something about Lucky Ali that takes you to some different time and phase of life where I always want to be... I am so glad to like his songs in this era..I think I will never get over his songs and his voice..warm wishes Lucky👐👐👐👐 And whoever is reading my comment, may U heal from all ur problems and may U get some awesome news shortly🥰🤩🥰🤩
(After reading your thoughts) Every single song of Lucky there is a memory of Me, and reminds my past crystal clear whenever I listen.. He was never just a musician for me.. Love from Pakistan
How many here know that Lucky Ali ji is the eldest son of legendary comedian Mehmood ji. He is another legend himself. Lucky to have heard Lucky Ali in my teens , when we all are dreamy. These songs made my dreams more beautiful then, and now they make me nostalgic. Love your music Sir.
The first Computer had this song. One of my best childhood memories. Memories won't die as time flies. These are the golden memories. I'll be blessed if they play this on my funeral.
I like Lucky Ali a lot, but I feel he owes his success to his then brother in law Mikey McCleary. Of course the talent is there, but compositions are soulful and very sweet too.

GOD please send lucky Ali for the next generation.. U sent him to early, his music genius wasn't made for this time or country.. But I do thank you that i could witness him in my childhood.. But he needs to ressurect again.. And gain the fame and love he deserved.

I have a small confession to make I used to save my pocket money everyday which was suppose to be my bus fare (3Rs per day) to get my hands over cassette of sifar under Sony music.I used to walk back home just to save that money expecting I will have possession of something that was very priceless to me even today. Those days normal cassette would cost 45 bucks while Sony labels used to be 75 Rs Me being a young guy from 9th grade(2001) somehow was possessed to have that cassette anyhow and use it in my Aiwa Walkman with rechargeable battery After 2 months when I finally made the said amount, the excitement I had was next level which I never felt ever after. The healing and smoothness still takes me to a different planet I am generally god's fav kid(atleast I like to think like that)cause I have got what I wanted after that and I wished I could see my god next to me someday and it finally happened in year 2010 when I was coming back from Delhi to Bangalore (I was event managing common wealth games and was coming back to Bangalore) I saw him coming and sharing a smile and sitting just behind me(indigo flight) I was nervous to go next to him cause I didn't wanna disturb my angel but just kept tilting back having a stare every few seconds just to have check on him Finally when we landed I acknowledged and whispered bye gutted but happy to have seen him Wish Selfies where popular than I missed that Generally I am not a celebrity liking person but the impact this legend had on me was unique even today I see all his latest interview and follow him God bless him always and loads of love Lucky Ali is not a artist he is a emotion,a universal emotion
He has earnt love n respect... Much more than money. Money doesn't matter to him. His father make so many big stars like Amitabh without any self interest. God bless him.
@@rahulr6381 don't bother those stupid whatsapp university grads woke nationalists. Lucky Ali or anyone should be identified by their work and talent. And, Lucky Ali is one of the best in what he does. He is way above all these things.
I remember my first walkman on my 10th birthday... came with a cassette ... THE BEST OF LUCKY ALI.. this was the first song... totally blown away... inspired me to learn guitar... and it has been 15 years since then :)
I came to know about this song when i saw mahindra ad and man THIS GUY IS A GENIUS. He made this song decade ago and youngsters can still jam on this in 2021. Soo underated god bless LUCKY ALI.
Lucky Ali had a global flavour in his music. Fusion based alternative pop u can call it. 99% Indian listeners sadly were and still addicted to laaatke , maatke, jhaatke stuff so they failed to assimilate his work. Hence his music became a cult mostly the first 3 albums sunoh , sifar and aks. Sadly his team split and he decided to join the latke, matke, jhatke group aka Bollywood and that was the end of the love story.
Kya vibes hain Unbelievable ..when rest of Bollywood was crap this master piece was created..2020 Bollywood is still crap this master piece still feels like somebody composed this just today.. Yeh kabhi purana nahi hota..drum beats bass guitar strings acoustic lyrics composition location.. My body automatically starts to move when I play this song.. Amazing just amazing.
@@akartmedia3534 bollywood do have good singers and most of people follow same genre which makes them kind of boring and common .. But lucky Ali's songs are on different level single piece talent.
Oh my first crush from indi pop.when I met him first time I was like....l was not in this world...I was scared and excited both...he is really a good man...very simple yet smart...
If this song had released in 2020 with the current audio and video quality , it would have got more than 100 million views in no time . I am thinking , given the spending potential of the youth today especially those in tech sector how many would have been inspired by this and travelled to Cuba. Lucky ali would have been the tourisim ambassador for Cuba . But those born after 2000 will nevwr know the worth of this songs and all the other Gems of Lucky Ali. Keep Aside lucky ali they dont even know that India had a florishing pop music industry back in 90s which had international quality artists and compositions. My heart sinks in sadness I miss the 90s so much. I wish the internet revolution had never happend. These stars would have been around much longer and given some great music albums.
Very very right brother, kaash yeh internet, mobile phone revolution na hota to lucky Ali jaise kalakar ki madhur aawaz se hum aj bhi zoom rahe hote, mujhe bhi 90 ka decade bahut yaad ata hai aur jab aj ke samay se compare karta hoon toh bahut sad mehsus karta hu, kaas wo samay aur lucky ji wapas ajaye
Picturised in Cuba.. I used to carry Walkman.. songs of lucky ali, kaho na pyar hain.. so on... I felt like travelling to future listening to this kind of Indi pop... ahead of time truly
I remember I had a cassette with all luck Ali songs along with a Sony Walkman player ..I remember while I was returning back in train after visiting my sister I just played side A side B continuously till I reached home..
If you listened to this song 20+ years ago, and you're listening to it again in 2023, and those memories come flooding back, you want to give that version of yourself a hug and tell them you understand... you remember...
Thats why i say guys lucky had liberered us. Imagine our life without ali. L8fe wud be not worth living. But he made it otherwise. Thats why he will alwaysbe a legend. And thats coming from north east part of india.
Knowing your taste in music, dear Ronan ji, I have something for you. A memoir of his lyricist Aslam Noor is out on Amazon Kindle where he has evocatively narrated the journey and stories of all the songs he co-wrote with him. Here is the link of the memoir www.amazon.in/dp/B08TZSVSFC
Lets keep Luky Ali's music aside for a second and appreciate the amount of work he did on the cinematography of his videos. It was way ahead of his time. Top Notch... Truely a gem💎

+ishan malhotra Its India.Filled with non sense idiotic morons who give millions of views and thousands of lkes for song like munnui badam char botal vodka pani wala dance all those blankety blank blank s**ts.todays gen.forgot what music is actually.90s music rocks!!!
+Debojyoti Neogi i feel good after reading your comment bro .. there are still people like u n me .. in India .. breaking the stereotype image ..god bless u bro ...
+ishan malhotra This video was uploaded by Sony Music in 2014. It was an epic song in 90's. Ppl used to upload unofficailly in youtube. So the views got distributed among all and ppl had completely forgotten about this song. But the new Mahindra KUV ad has got all of us to rem and revisit this song. I bet you within coming next 3 months this song will get 1 million views. If this song was sung now and uploaded, it has the amazing music to attract more than 100 million views.
Every rhythm of that acoustic guitar is making me think about my school days.... About how this song never use to get off my head even when i was giving exams... I relate to this song so much....way ahead of its time... Im sure if it would have released now, it must have got a billion views.. the song has some uplift feelings ....
The best part in Luck Ali's videos are they are away from stereotypes of casting fair models. Actors acting in any of his videos are very common. People can relate to them.
Even today this one song beats the shit out of all the songs by Honey Sing, Badshah and all the likes of them. Indian music will be incomplete without Lucky Ali.
Apart from Lucky Ali's Magical voice the music, picturisation, theme everything is so gracious. 4:14 onwards is like pure intoxication !! Some 3-4 years ago I first came to know about Lucky Ali Sir. Since then I have heard all his songs for like umpteenth times. Still they all are so refreshing and soothing. It's sad to see we as nation have moved so backwardly in taste of music. I regret not being born in the 90's..
This Album name was AKS and was his 3rd album, was released in 2000 after kaho na pyar hai movie was released....not in 1998......Sifar was released in 1998 and was his 2nd album
@Priya K i really don't know why you had to be so harsh towards my opinion. I was just appreciating the song. But, that's okay. Guess this is how half of the internet is now a days.
2019.... Sitting in a hotel room in UK watching snowfall out of window.... Wondering the first time I played aks cassette when I was just 13.... YOU GAVE US SOULFUL MUSIC AN ERA A MEMORY which would stay forever....

Why his records weren't as famous and popular like the shit we deal with today. His cassets should have gathered millions. The plight of these singers is that indian music is concentrated on playback singing rather an artist's solo music video gaining appreciation.
Sony cassette were expensive than other music labels with bollywood music and people who have no interest in guitar drums bass etc. basically people not interested in West kind music never liked his music probably that could be reason. Imagine if he was in pakistan or nepal he would have been a huge hit there for sure. Indians were always limited to bollywood when it comes to music back in days . He always have conflict with indian music level companies which took all the hardwork of real artist. Bmg Sony did justice with his music videos.
I was just 16 when this came out and that slow pan at 4:14 was one of the most iconic and electric “man and woman look into each others’ eyes” moments for me. The shot choice, and the music, and the simple magic of time slowing down for two people as they briefly forget the bustle around them…top tier song and direction.
+manoj chawla That's so right, man. His songs just touch deep in your heart. So cool and so awesome. I wish he did more such songs, but those days are gone. 90s was the true time for these kind of music. Can't get such songs anymore. I love Lucky Ali, I even had dreams of us cruising together at sea and his music playing in the background. LOL

I remember a interview column in 'The Hindu', Lucky Ali pointed out the losing sheen of the Bollywood and the Bollywood music in coming future, there deciding to leave the musical field and concentrate in to organic farming in New Zealand. This was in 2003.
Other than the song, the change of color gradient as soon as they fall in love... What a genius back in time, in every single frame, was no less than a movie. Truly kudos to the producer, director and the music

After decades when I first heard this song in my radio, FM and my Sony Walkman, and now listened to it in super bass Woofer full volume, with the kind of voice, music and picturization his songs had, I feel that he is like 25 years ahead of his time. He deserves an Indian music award equivalent to Billboard music award for his contribution to Indian music ! Love & respect to lucky ali from Nepal 🇳🇵
I am currently living in KSA , My brother mentioned he came to his office to book a ticket back home and I was crushed to learn that I couldn't get to meet him in person. He was and still is one of my most favourite singers. Love from Pakistan.
