The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I'm 62. I remember Teresa very well. When Whitney came on the scene and it was said that Sissy was her mother. I never believed that. I told all my friends there was no way that is her mother. Whitney always gave off Teresa vibes to me. If a DNA could be done I'd bet the house on Teresa and I'm not a gambling woman.

AND both of the songs Teresa is singing has a direct link to Whitney. The song, I'm Going to Make You Love Me, was first sung by DeeDee Warwick and of course, Respect, was sung by Aretha, indicating that Teresa was keeping a close eye on her daughter. I wonder how much they paid her to keep silent? Whitney was around 3 years old when the song DeeDee sang was released and she was 1 year old when Respect dropped. And Whitney was about 8 years old when Teresa performed this act.

I can hear Whitney’s voice. It might be hard for some people to recognize because Whitney had the training of church and her mother’s powerful influence vocally so she had a much better control and power. But when Theresa belts out the high notes you can briefly hear the same quality Whitney had. Also Theresa’s style changes the sound and quality. Back then pop music was sung differently, more straight forward by someone like her.

I agree. I can hear Whitney's voice by the way she says her words. Pop music was different back then. It's not just the voice, visually, Whitney looks like her. Whitney's physique matches hers. Lastly, I grew up a total Whitney fanatic. I mean no disrespect to Cissy Houston but I never thought she was Whitney's mother. I wasn't a conspiracy theorist child. I just didn't ever think Whitney was Cissy's child. I'm not into conspiracies. My eyes and ears see and hear Whitney when I look at Theresa's charisma, on-stage presence, looks, and voice. Ms. Theresa Graves was very talented and popular during her time. However, she walked away from fame and Hollywood when she became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I think Whitney Houston strongly favors Theresa Graves, especially the features around the eyes, and the smile definitely. I can hear similar tonalities in Theresa and Whitney's voices. These two women strongly resemble each other. But, what is really telling is the hand mannerisms when Whitney and Theresa are singing the way they move their hands is the same. When I am watching Theresa Graves, it is like watching Whitney before she came into existence. I don't know Whitney or Theresa personally, but the resemblance is uncanning. Also, I can't overlook the similarities in their voices and the way they move the hands while singing. The only thing I know is that biology is a strong presence between these two talented women.

The rumor is that she was Whitney’s biological mother and that she and Whitney’s father John Houston had an affair and she became pregnant with Whitney but she didn’t want to be a mother at that time in her life so she gave Whitney to John and his wife Cissy and they raised her as their own. When I think about the fact that Whitney looks more like Teresa Graves than she does Cissy and the fact that Cissy was a bigger lady and Teresa and Whitney both had very slim figures it makes me believe this rumor even more. It wouldn’t be the first time a wife was forced to raise her husband’s side baby. People took secrets to their graves back then so I believe that it is quite possible that this women was Whitney’s mother.

I saw a documentary that stated that Whitney's biological dad who had the child with Graves let a certain Enclave no quietly but that Cissy Houston raised her as her own and if you look at all of Whitney Houston's other siblings they look nothing like Whitney Houston the females in that family not only don't look like her but don't have body types like her or anything and this young lady really does fit the bill especially when you look at younger pictures of Whitney Houston spitting image saying speaking tone of voice and similar singing voice but Whitney just had that serious vocal training from Cissy Houston
