10 अक्टूबर सन 2011 दिन सोमवार था ,मैं उस समय क्लास 9th में पढ़ रहा था, आपके दुनिया छोड़ जाने की खबर रेडियो पे सुना, आज तक उस दिन वाले अखबार की हर एक ओ कटिंग मेरे ग़ज़ल की डायरी में रखी हुई है जिसमे आपसे जुड़ी खबरें थी, जबसे होस संभाला तब से आपको सुनता आ रहा हूँ आपकी ग़ज़ल " हुस्न वालों को खबर क्या बेखुदी क्या चीज है" इतनी अछि लगी कि आगे चलकर उस ग़ज़ल ने हमे ग़ज़ल गायक बना दिया गांव में 10th तक पढ़ाई करने के बाद मैं वाराणसी आ गया म्यूज़िक सीखने ,और बनारस हिन्दू यूनिवर्सिटी से संगीत में डिप्लोमा के साथ साथ क्लासिकल म्यूजिक में ही बीए और एमए कर लीया आज एक प्रोफेसनल ग़ज़ल गायक हूँ, आपकी गायकी में जो रूहानियत महसूस होती है ओ कहीं और नही, मिस यू जगजीत साहब 🙏

मैं college सें आकर दोपहर मैं आप ही के गज़ल सुनता था, और उस दिन सड़क के किनारे मैने देखा, कि आप अमर हो गऐ

The only time I cried when a singer died was Jugjeet singh, I'm from Pakistan and I'm obsessed with his voice ❤ will miss you and your magical voice forever ...😭

I am a Pakistani fan, I remember listening to Jagjeet jee when I was a kid, the first ghazal I heard of him was on radio ye daulat bhi lelo, and I feel in love with that ghazal, little did I realise would spend a lifetime listening to him, his death has left a gap that can never be filled, we miss him 💖

This is one my fav songs by Jagjitji, he is my reason to start listening to ghazals...had the pleasure of watching him perform live on four occasions, I truly feel privileged...he lives on for me, his voice continues to play an integral part in my life....his voice "aag behte hue paani main laga aaya hoon."

His magical voice will be dearly missed. Never again will there be such a beautiful ghazal artist. We only have Ustad Ghulam Ali, may the Almighty give him great health. Ustad Jagjit Singh was one of my favourite ghazal artists. When I heard he passed away I broke down in tears 😭. Love for India 🇮🇳 and Pakistan 🇵🇰 the beautiful lands of classical rag and ghazal. Can not understand 72 dislikes. Inexplicable. Man is singing in a casual setup and dint miss a note (not even ordinary recording could mess anything with it) and performed variations which mesmerized all. Genius.

Indeed it's a wonderful Nazam.(many of us don't know the difference between GAZALS AND NAZAMS.Let me clarify that a gazal is type of poetry in which each stanza(urdu me jise Sher kehte hai),reflects on different subject,but in Nazam, the entire poetry written on one theme or one subject or say on one thought.Here in this nazam,poet narrated the feelings of sorrow that how he/she missed her love.The sweet memories in letters written in the past,has now become like a fire,which does not allow him/her to even disposed off by put into fire,finally flowing in the pious river GANGA.There by igniting a fire on river ganga.what a imagination of heart burning sensation due to failure of love.😪

I remember my engineering days, I came to Mumbai and used to stay with friends. We had a tape recorder and some Jagjit Singh’s cassettes...at night, I used to do maths and his songs used to play in background.I loved both...Rip Jagjit Sir

I save my pocket money to buy a cassette of the ghazal king of India... I loved him so much i.e I could not able to take food for so many days.. when he left his fans. I proposed my wife with one of his song 20 years back and I succeed. The way he started, finding that "Sur" of his & went on about the magnificent lyrics, I could see the entire surroundings changed. Anup Jalota, such a talented singer was immediately drawn to it with his eyes closed & trying to become harmonious with the tune. " Tere Khushboo me base khat, main jalaata kaise ! " One after another the magical pearls follow, Jagjit Saab's melodious voice just caresses, flows effortlessly, across the octaves like magic. I would've had moist eyes had I been there in person ! There was only one definite culmination at the end of the Ghazal, Anup Jalota touching Jagjit Saab's feet. A masterclass indeed ! Pranaam to the Maestro ! 🙏 Thanks a ton Preety ji for posting this.
