It's such a shame how the sport of karate has developed - no courage to fail - everything just by feinting - constantly fidgeting - in every fight there are admonitions for doing nothing - and then unclean, ineffective techniques - especially at close range - just look at them Fights of the 90s and 2000s - they are worlds apart - today only the speed and ability to react are determined - that has nothing to do with the original karate, which was also about EFFECTIVE technique - the ladies would all be boxers or taekwondo fighters being beaten... I don't even want to talk about Thai boxing... Yes: it's a sport - I have nothing against that - I'm actually for it - it has nothing to do with self-defense or an art - BUT: it is a COMBAT sport and not a kindergarten game!
