Terminal not opening on Ubuntu 22.04 - how to fix

Worked on 18.04 LTS live version. My first crack at linux, d/loaded to flashdrive 5 or 6 yrs ago now. Still haven't figured how to install it, workin' on it. Did find another method to open terminal, rather convoluted, this is so simple by comparison.

not the solution, it's not about the language, i just played with cuda settings and now terminal, screen shot taker etc. is not opening at all

I have same problem, but when I change the language, it does not work? Can you give any other suggestion?
