Would like your opinion on the typical ISP grounding blocks that ground only the outer layer of coax vs the gas discharge lightning arrestors that would ground the data path. There are a lot of comments in forums suggesting electronics damage from spikes coming in through ISP's coax feeds.
Hi Doug I have not heard of any damage caused by the ISP services but could see how that might happen. I don't have any experience with the lightning arrestors which seems like over kill for a ISP line. I know in my area everything is buried so probably not much of an issue. Have fun Ron
Hey Ron, great videos! Would you have recommended coax cable manufacturers that you would recommend? I am getting ready to wire a remodel and want to pre wire the home to keep it clean and out of sight.. there are so many companies out there and no one has a recommended brand.
