TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY - [NINTENDO GAMEBOY] Full Game 

Back when I was 8, this game was too hard for me.

The rendering of an 8-bit Linda Hamilton was pretty good. These programmers in those days really had to deliver some impressive goods with limited capability!

Ive spent hours and hours getting past the first 2 levels as a kid. If i had known it could be done to finish the game in 20 minutes...

Man, watching these GB clips is like watching classic movies from 30s and 40s!

I just mastered this game without the help of the tutorial. It really does help to know what you are supposed to be doing on the last stage (which it took me a while to figure out), also stage 3 took a while to master all of that but now I can do it in my sleep. (by the way, I'm being intentionally vague) I hate when people spoil the games.

never understood to play this game

This is made by LJN but it's actually a good game, it's short yes, but it's good, i loved it when i was a kid, the music is also very good.

As a kid playing this with no internet or other guides to help me, seeing circuit 3 for the first time I thought to myself the 8 year old equivalent of "fuck my balls," as circuit 2 was hard enough for me. I only ever beat circuit 3 once and died on level 5 and decided that was it and washed my hands with this game. I only ever got to play as Arnold one God damn time.

T2 had the awesome message that the future is not written and it's what we do now that makes the future. Then T3 said "nope, the future is written and unavoidable.". Way to ruin that, T3. Good job.

never got past the circuit part

I was 8 or 9 years old when I got this game. One of the Hardest games ever for the Game Boy (original). It took me Months just to get to level 5 - which I only achieved ONCE ever. One Hell of a game this was.

reprogramming the T-800 was waaaaay too many stages and took up a 3rd of the game. The Future war part should've been only 1 stage at most. Any kid that wanted this wanted to be Arnold and kick ass with a shotgun and motorcycle.

Best Nintendo game when I was 7 years old. At the same time when the original movie was released. I still have this game in gameboy today and the original gameboy. I am not selling it. it is a collector. 27 now.

God, those puzzles made up nearly 1/3 of the game.

So many game designers in the 80s and 90s were autistic engineers who didn't understand that a timed IQ test is not a fun gameplay element. The circuit re programming actually might have been kind of a neat side puzzle without the time limit though.

In the scenario of this game like in the movie! Arnold Schwarzenegger T-800 protecting John Connor against the T-1000 Robert Patrick driving the trailer truck during the chase! I love this

This game was universally in learning, its not only just action but chronological, analytical, and decision-making! that's how this game is very excellent to play like in the movie!!!

I used to have this game back when I was 5. I had no idea what I was doing haha. About 2 years later when I went to my grandmas house I brought that game with me so I wouldn't get bored on the way up there. I showed it to my aunt(who is obsessed with Arnold Schwarzenegger more than I am) and I was stupid enough to let her trade 2 of her games for that one, oh how I regreted that. Recently I gave her a bunch of my old games that I don't play anymore and asked for that one and she said she lost it but I know she's lying. On the bright side I might be getting this game again soon. Btw thanks for the walkthrough ShaolinYautja I couldn't get passed the circuit levels or the Cyberdine level for anything.

I had this game as a kid and I never beat it, never got past the reprograming scene. This is what happens when you let a game be developed by a bunch of laughing, joking numb-nuts!

I did get stuck at one point and didn't understand how to beat it. Also did not know english as a kid, so stupid. Hated the game at the time.

Just loaded this up on my 3DS - childhood muscle memory kicked in and beat it on my first attempt!

Ahhh... memories! This game had the potential to be good. They should have left out the stupid reprogramming levels, and added more future war levels. Oh, and a few extra lives and health packs would have been nice too. Whose bright idea was it to have 1 health bar throughout the game?

@cougher989 LOL, I still own it, hence the reason why I decided to make a full walkthrough video. The game is fairly easy. The only parts I found to be was tricky was the Terminator reprogramming levels and the Drainage Canal when you are on the motorcycle trying to keep the T-1000 from running you over.

Terminator 2 was published by LJN, which acquired the film rights from production company Carolco. The game was developed by Bits Studios, based in the U.K.; it was the first game the company developed entirely in-house, having previously focused on Game Boy and NES ports of games developed by other companies. Bits consulted with the film company, which stated repeatedly that Sarah Connor's "bangs" were too small in the game. Because of regional differences, the development team misunderstood the term and continually made Sarah's breasts larger, before finding out that the film company had been referring to her hair. Arnold Schwarzenegger portrayed the T-800 in the film, although images of his face could not be used in the game for legal reasons. The game was released in the U.S. in November 1991, followed by a U.K. release shortly thereafter.

Just like it’s T2 nes counterpart i never could make it past the 2nd level. A goddam source of frustration & waste of money for an early 1990’s 12-13 year old at the time. Many of you already agree with me.

It's all nostalgia. But this makes it easier to me to put it all behind as a been there done that. Also saves me the trouble of reading over a Game FAQ since this video is enough to explain and exhibit all of the game's content. This game was difficult for 10-year-old me. I never got past the circuits part. Would have loved to have played the motorcycle part.

When I was a kid a friend of mine gave me the game he said he got to the circuit level but could never finish that one. I played the shit out of this game until I finally made it through that piece of crap. Was fucking hard.

i was 13 when i have this game - time flies. i hated this game.

Well as a 9 years old non-English speaker back then, we couldn't even pass the first 1 min of the game and non-of my friends had That's my memory of this game. We've never figured it out. 30 years later, I see why.

This game was first source of frustration and anger in my teens, because i didn´t understand english so i shooted the towers in random order..but after finally getting past first level, the hacking minigame was yet another source of nightmares, and so on ...but finally after hundreds of attempts i finally beated this game and it was the best feeling ever. I played it today after 20 years and i am still able to get to the final level relatively easy...stil got it in my fingers :D Btw my next game was Battletoads Ragnaroks world :D LOL btw the music still kicks ass

@NinetiesGamer At first, I had no idea what to do. Then the flashing square object on one of those towers caught my attention, and after reading what Sarah Connor said about them having to be destroyed from the tallest to shortest I got the picture of what to do.

I beat this as a kid.....took a long LONG time to master all the different play styles and boss battles.

when I played this game it was so hard it wasn't fun.And the missions were stupid..like the first one where you're supposed to destroy the 5 generators from tallest to shortest...what a steaming pile of shit.

I have nostalgic memories of this, but let's face it. It's terrible. It would have been totally different if they gave you a password system or at least extra lives. I've played through a LOT of classic NES games. Those games are hard as hell, but at least they're fair.

@KirbyY15 video games' physics and rules almost never follow the film representation. This game is very old, so it is limited to what the programmers could apply and try to mimic from the movie. BTW, in the Arcade version of T2 when you shoot humans at Cyberdyne they don't really die. Instead they just walk off the screen in pain and limping or holding their knees. So I guess that version is somewhat closer to the the whole "I swear I will not kill anyone" canon of T2. 8-D

It's kinda strange how only the John Connor levels allowed shooting upwards and climbing ladders. Why didn't they have that in the t800 levels??

I had more trouble remembering Circuit 2. There are 2 version of all those circuits btw.

That was the only level that was hard because the T-1000 can kill you instantly if he rams into you. In fact that was the only time "button mashing" was absolutely necessary to complete the level. And speaking of that, it made very little sense for a Shotgun to be fired rapidly without reloading O_o

I played this game when I was 10 and yes the circuit part was hard, especially since e glish is not my native language, but knew a lot of English due to extensive watching of TV shows, movies.. Otherwise impossible if no English skills

i was 6 when i got this and never got past the first part so i threw it away after like a year

I generally have these memorized well but looks like I made a small mistake, luckily this is the only time the game is forgiving enough to allow the player to continue and try again if they failed the first time. Any other time or level in the game if the player messes up, then the game is over.

I'm here to find out how you got past that big guy Like over ten years and I've still not got past him lol

Am I remembering a different T2 from this one? The one I recall the truck chase as down/up instead of left - right. There was bridges and everything.... only reason I remember it that way was because I couldn't be it. >_

level three was the most annoying argh...fun game tho!

well you didn't miss much if you saw my entire video here, any video game based on some big film franchise is just there to promote the movie and make quick profits. As bad as this game is, I'm sure there are many more movie tie-in games that are 10 to a Million times worse. If you thought this version of a Terminator game for gameboy is bad, the one based on the Arcade and ported to it is even worse since it's very impossible to complete without some kind of cheating (e.g. Game Genie).

There was only 2 versions of Terminator 2 released for the original monochrome Nintendo Gameboys. The one you currently in this video and the other version was based on the Arcade version of Terminator 2 (source: GameFAQs). This version of Terminator 2 for Gameboy is easier and more likely to be completable after playing it enough times compared to the awful T2 The Arcade Game ported to Gameboy, which I luckily avoided. The regular Arcade version were fine to me though.

Always wondered why these emulators don't have a black and green setting. They were greenish yellow, not white.

What a miserable POS game. As an adult I understand why there are no continues considering the game is meant to be a "just get better at what's a really short game over multiple tries as means of replay value" instead of producing a game that covered more of the goddamned film that wasn't so terrible. That still doesn't make up for the fact that after I did beat it as a kid there was no reason to ever play it again.

It's one of the most stupid games I've ever possessed. As kid it was way to hard to solve even if you think about, that the game wasn't translated in my language and I didn't understand english yet. As an adult I think that it's far way too short in comparison to other games.
