This seems like one of the few honest dynos on youtube. I keep seeing these 03-04 cobra with the same mods as these cars making over 700rwhp on pump gas. Either the dyno sheet #s are false or the cobra owners are full of shit.😅. Keep up the good work

Awesome info. Super surprised the KB was 50 degrees cooler on the IAT2's.. Would pay good money to know if it was the IC brick, or that there may have been more friction inside the Whipple. I'm in between a 2.3 Whipple and a 2.6 KB. Currently have a stock bottom end, Todd Warren Cams, LT's and a Fore system on E85.

I'd do a 2.3 gen2r tvs over either of those honestly you would be well over 700 to the wheels if you spun it pretty good with your setup.

Has jlt 123 and twin 69 tbody, arh long tubes w free flowing h and borla stingers and she did 740/733 to the tire around 19 psi on 93 and boostane on a 90 degree day through 4.10 gears. She's a monster gen3r ftw. How much power did you make with the gen3r. You're on e85 that is badass. Those blowers don't play even a 3 liter Whipple would have trouble keeping up all things equal imo. The tvs are nasty especially the gen3r.

Yea that’s deff strange with Mikes car. My car made 640 wheel on a mustang dyno, 670 on a dyno jet 93 pump gas. I know mike. We have the same exact blower, gen 2 2.9 I had a 3.25 upper and 4lb lower. 80 lb injectors etc. Stock motor, stock cams. Gt500 slot maf with Diablo maf extension. I also was on stock exhaust manifolds! Car ran extremely well! I’d be really curious to see how efficient that used blower is.. it’s not like there is a break in period you know. I would have guessed much more on the Whipple. But I’m with you guys, I like the Kenny Bell! It looks sweet too 🙂. Great video tho, both cars look great. The DSG obviously looks better in my opinion! Very well done!

That’s about right for a Gen 2 2.9....since then whipple has revised the 2.9 and you’ll get about 125-150hp more out of a Gen 4 unit. Good explanation. Not sure if it’s one, but there were some problems with the first batch of J2 bricks. All in all Dyno numbers don’t matter. The time slip tells all.

I agree with you about dyno numbers. I would rather have a 650whp Terminator with a happy running engine than boast about breaking over 700whp and fry the engine a month later. IMHO, KB and whipple are both terrific platforms for the terminator cobra. It just comes down to personal views and tastes. For me, I'm a whipple man. My 03 Mineral Gray has a whipple 2.3 gen 2 with a 3.5" upper and 4lb lower pulley and at 18psi she gets to 621whp/595wtq on 93 pump. Thanks for a great video about Terminators!

Kenne Bell and previous Gen whipples are notoriously not as efficient as they should be. The more supercharger whine you hear, the more restrictive the blower is the reason the eaton screams like it’s flying apart is that it’s actually hindering nearly as much air as it’s able to compress. These cars were clean as hell and a good comparison vid

It's subjective of course, but I know I'm right: 4.6 Terminator sounds a lot better than 5.0 Coyote. That dyno sounds like a tornado siren.

Really liked that comparison, the KB2.6h doesnt get a lot of love, I had one installed on my car put down really decent numbers, car performed very well. Really liked the blower and it screams! I let myself get persuaded and purchased a Gen 4 2.9 crusher, the blower is a beast, but I will say IATs climb just as high as the ole KB, and the heat really affects its performance on the street.

@@Wretched2JZ it is in terms of power. But the KB really did perform well, on e85 the car made a really strong 722hp with a conservative tune. The thing I hate the most about the crusher is what a pia when changing plugs.

​@@willsam6243 I am a tvs guy myself I love the gen3r I got one on my 07 gt500 they make em for cobras too and the cobra one has a removable elbow so plug changes are easier. They make great power and torque and are very efficient.

@@racequad9 I'm running just an off the shelf 3r on my 04. Stock manifolds, fore return, e85, 22 psi (3.3/4) jlt intake with a 2600 and made 760/730 std or 740/710 std. Hope that helps a little at least.

Great video nick and a really cool comparison. Its so hard to compare set ups being car's are usually on different dyno's and different weather. My VMP Gen3R made great numbers on pump 93 at 676 but I'll be going back for a torco pull this spring hopefully and some other mods thrown on.

Shop temp was the same, a couple degrees is is going to be standard. You will never be able to mimic it exactly. Different cars will be different, AS HE STATED!! The info provided here has been great. If you don’t like it, don’t watch…..

I was surprised by the Kenne Bells efficiency and how close the numbers were!! I’m wondering how my j2fab heat exchanger helps or hurts (better help for the price!) I’m sure that 3.4 is gonna roast my 3.0…but I’m curious to see the difference in power curve. I guessing it has a heavier cam set up then mine?

Very interesting results. I am curious to see how a VMP 2.3 with a GT500 throttle body would since i feel i always see those cars making over 700whp on e85. But like you said, dyno numbers can be easily fudged. Another point you made was the intercooler brick. I have heard VMP's 1 inch adaptor with 1 inch coolant hose lines make as much difference as the intercooler itself. I wouldn't mind seeing that difference cause those aftermarket intercooler bricks are crazy expensive and it would be nice to see if it is even worth it. But another thing I have heard is LFP's quality is hit or miss. I've heard they make a good lower pulley copy that is similar to Metco's lower pulley setup, but haven't heard much from their other stuff... and this seems like the 5th time i have heard not so impressive results from their intercooler brick keeping IAT2s cool.

Enjoyed this vid greatly. Found this while looking to compare the KB 2.3 blowers. I am a 2nd gen. Lightning owner about to go with a 2.3 KB charger under advice of my builder. The 2.3 choice is basically to keep it simple at a target of 550 rwhp. Stock cams.

You should do a 2.3 tvs instead. Better torque and better blower all around. They don't make one for the lightning but you can use a 13-14 gt500 blower and adaptor to make it work with the 2v. Or a used vmp gen2r would be even better.

Imo yes. They have correction factors that try to account for that but at the end of the day the car is gonna be making a decent bit more power when it's 30 degrees cooler so it would prob have more power for sure. Not sure how much it shows on the dyno because of those correction factors but the car Def has more power that is a fact.

Install trans, measure like your local driveshaft mfg wants it measured and get it cut that way is the best. If you need a shaft just hit us up

I have never heard 'Heartbreaker' used to describe a DynoJet. Heartbreaker is usually reserved for Mustang Dynos.

The Kenne Bell 2.2 that came with the 04 cobra I bought few months back and my only issue with this car is I just dont hear that famous whine that these cars were known for. I know the stock Eaton blower whines very loud but I just dont hear it with the Kenne Bell 2.2 I have and it's just a little upsetting. Even at 14-16 boost it's a faint whine. I really didnt want to swap out for anonther supercharger but I might and if I it would probably be a whipple

You need to spin it more that is pretty low boost. Get that thing up to 18-19 you should be able to go that high on 93 and higher with an additive. I would suggest going with a 2.3 tvs from vmp and spin it to about 18-19 psi. Plenty of noise and you will make more power and torque. But you can get that 2.2 screaming if you spin it up more. That is pretty low boost. Those 2.2s were known for their blower noise. Most people run alot more boost than you are though.

​@@Lee-wj4lygotcha thought it seemed odd as I've always heard 2.2 is one of the loudest twin screws. But it would be much louder if you spun it up more. These are low compression engines they need boost thrown at them.
