Picked a day with the worst possible weather and then raced an ebike vs an Uber. A thoughtful analysis of a Tern GSD electric bike and an Uber on a very rainy day.
I was wondering why you didn't take into account the exercise from biking I would think it would be a good advantage of biking as you're multitasking. Great video btw!
Hey nice call out Geert. I intended to, but during my ride my jacket or rain drops paused the ebike trip and I didn't notice for about 20 minutes so I lost tracking for 1/3 of the trip. Next similar video, RoboTaxi vs ebike, I'll add this and also lock my watch so it doesn't get bumped.
@@batterybikes Looking forward to it thanks for the reply and I would love to see a biking breakdown of the city you live in compared to others just an idea tho.
Back with another practical video. If there was a chart showing the upload-to-usefulness ratio, this channel would be at the top. How do you make sure the bike doesn't explode while charging, though?
Hey thank you - too kind. I think the key is just getting a UL certified battery. If you get a drivetrain from any of the big brands, Bosch, Brose, Shimano, etc, it will be UL certified. If you get something cheap/no-name it's very unlikely. I think 99.*% of the battery fires you hear about are cheaper, non-UL certified internet bikes. It looks like there are some direct to consumer brands that are coming around though: ebikeescape.com/ul-certified-ebikes-batteries-list At least in March though it looks like Rad wasn't part of that list
There may be a video there? - "How not to burn yourself alive with your ebike?" In general I think safety videos are kinda hard to pull off and get any clicks/views. But this one seems like you could make a saucy thumbnail. 🤔
Ah thanks. The dialogue audio is only on right ear but music should be both. Thanks for letting me know you noticed though! I actually thought it was slightly more dynamic with sound in just right ear but maybe that was dumb. The other audio I think is all dual mono
Well, Uber may seems faster but when the traffic gets busy, the e-bike is best option and save you some money, & also you can get in your bike at any time of day, Uber trip is good when you traveling for a few days or catching something important, I have e-bike my average speed is 35-40km I can go faster than that but it's illegal in the UK I mean 40km isn't legal This is a great video, the only problem with cycling is the weather 😂😂
I know man. Major oversight. The next video will probably be ebike vs Robotaxi (which are notoriously slow), but if I do another normal car vs one of these I will certainly do it at rush hour with bikes moving at a normal pace and car traffic at a stand still. (Right now the robot taxis in SF are only public late at night when the roads are empty.)
