Agreed. The story, it's characters, the world and the music make the visuals the only reason this wasn't as popular as 7. I really do believe that. If 6 had come out on ps1 and had looked like 7, it would've had the impact 7 had. Not only that, it was before 7......so it may well have ended up being the "classic" rather than 7. The same can't be said for 5 or below. 6 was the first offering in the franchise to take an rpg in that direction. 7 merely continued that idea. I'd go as far as saying if 6 had come out on ps1 and looked like 7, people may well have considered 7 too similar, rendering it unoriginal. It's literally just the format 6 is presented in that gives it that unavoidably different feel. That's it. Other than that it'd be on par imo. If you reverse it and imagine 7 came out on the SNES.......I don't think 7 would be better necessarily.
@@huzidamasta um, it wasn't as popular becuz it was on the SNES compared to the PS1 which was all the rage at the time. As someone said, only a few knew about 6 but everyone knew about 7. While I do love 7 more than 6, I also believe it's good to recognize both are incredibly amazing games and you shouldn't have to put one down to prop the other up when I think both can stand on their own two feet. I consider FF7 to be a lot of people's introduction to the franchise since its readily available pretty much everywhere and is just in general a great starter but 6 offers a lot for people who are interested in the rest of the franchise. Also despite the fact that it isn't as popular as FF7, 1. I know for a fact it's well more liked. Everybody practically loves 6. 2. It's the best 2d game for having the most expressive sprites we've seen in a FF game. Point is, I understand 6 is almost everyone's favorite FF but imo, that shouldn't be at the expense of another legend when they can both coexist in the same caliber as they are both top tier games. Both can be legends at the same time
Pretty precise for Terras personality and the struggle she goes through from the start of the game, isnt it? :) Nobue Uematsu is a literal genius composer. Final Fantasy would never been the legend it became without his music and his dedication for the series over such a long time.
Final Fantasy 6, for me, has the best world map theme out of all the Final Fantasy games. This version just makes it a whole lot better. Same with the second world map theme, Searching for Friends. Best secondary map theme as well.
This was always my favourite theme from FF6 - and for most "character" themes. Hearing this in the pixel remaster made the emotions swell up inside me. This is how I always heard it all those years ago
This song is my top 5 final fantasy for sure of all time, could also be in top 3 if I would put some ranking on it , at this point i would have a bag with my top 3 or 5 and pick randomly a winner , this is a true master and this game will forever be in my memories, Terra is my favorite final fantasy characters even today , She is that special
There’s a sense of despair in the beginning of the story. As the the story progresses hope is restored in the characters it feels like and the fight between good and evil as well freedom are emphasized well in the story. The characters all come from different sides of life to come together to fight for one cause.
95% of the remade songs in the pixel remasters I can say are objectively better than the originals. This song is a good version of terras theme, but i prefer the original. The flute just had a stronger sound to it.
@@SquallSZ interestingly enough, FF 14 is one of the best FF games I've played to date. You can play most of the story stuff yourself. Especially now as the latest expansion in essence, is a closed loop of the games story. There will be more of course, but playing through it really feels like an amazing Final Fantasy game, full of twists and turns, fantastic character development and breathtaking music.
I can understand thinking that, but I've always felt FF6 was more of an ensemble cast with no true main character. Do keep in mind that Terra is unplayable for several big stretches in the WoB, and she's not a required character in the WoR. However, if you want to have that debate: I'd say she's the main focus of the WoB as she's the one that sets much of the plot into motion, but main character duties fall to Celes in the WoR as she's the first character you start with and the one looking to get everyone back together.
Hot take but ofc, she has much more focus I like that they all feel different but complete characters, male and female, Final Fantasy got both right unlike some other Jrpgs and anime stories which usually screw up at least at first
Why was your comment at the top anyway? Does RU-vid always like putting negative comments at the top? It's so hard to at least enjoy something if comments like these were right in front of my eyes.
@@binda63 Because the flute part sucks. Why would you change it to staccato? What makes the original so good is that the main melody instrument is legato. It is held, it implies melancholy and longing. Staccato notes mean jumpy, quick, and impulsive. Remakes suck.
Hard disagree. The advance version is the worst form of the OST, unless you are playing the restored romhack. SNES version is better, but this sounds like how FF6 was always meant to sound.
