Some mis- information in this. The 3 leaf pack only has 2 springs engaged when unladen,. Whereas the 4 leaf pack has 3 springs engaged when unladen. So there must be a noticeable difference in the unladen state.
Absolutely love my TT suspension in my hilux , didn't get the parabolic springs tho. Honestly way better ride and better handling than my previous suspension
I can vouch for how good the parabolic leaf springs are on the Hilux. They handle a load beautifully, ride much more smoothly than the standard spring and flex better too. There really isn’t a down side that I have found.
@Moor Mac I’m sad to hear of your problems. A friend of mine has them on a Hilux and they are fantastic. Obviously a different car but the Hilux has the spring on top of the dog housing too. It makes me wonder if there is a specific problem with your set.
What was you laden and unladen load for testing? Rough kg? I see you have a rear bar, roof rack, awning, rear box, max Trax, anything in the rear of car?
Looking at getting parabolics fitted on all 4 corners of my 1995 HZJ75RV-MNQ, which still has the factory leaves although I've changed the shocks once. With 515,000km from the leaves, the ride is still pretty much the same as it was when new i.e. a bit jarring and on corrugations they are excellent loose filling detectors. What I'd like to know is WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR AFTERMARKET REAR DOOR done???? That's one thing troopies so desperately need, even if it's a sliding door type like vans have.
