This is a follow up to my greebles video. This time I make a silicone mould and then cast them in resin.
This would be perfect to use as Warhammer 40k terrain, Kill Team terrain, Necromunda terrain or any other tabletop game.

These came out great. Depending on what setting the bits are for, a few imperfections from bubbles could just look like wear and tear, but warming the resin bottles in hot water before mixing helps lower the viscosity and leads to less bubbles. Depending on the mould material you can warm up your mould as well.

Hey pal, thanks for the warming the resin tip. Will try that next time and yeah, worse case scenario, free weathering 👍

Looks great! Ive read that if you pour the resin from a height so that you have a very thin stream, there is significantly less bubbles introduced.

Thanks pal. Yeah, I do know about pouring resin from a height. The resin isn't great anyway, it had bubbles from the mixing stage either way.

I never knew you could do this without mold release spray. That is good to know! If you want to reduce bubbles, you can try making a vibrating platform with a back massager. I made one a long time ago and I think it helps getting better results. However, with things you want weathered anyhow, a few bubbles can actually make it look better then without. You can even put things in your molds so that the cast has holes for rusted out parts. Nice work here. Keep casting!

Thanks pal. I will definitely be making more moulds in the future. That's a good tip with the massager and yeah, free weathering 👍

Nice video ! I have a suggestion : to keep the costs down (and make the process easier), you could use Blue Stuff / Oyumaru to make the moulds, and milliput to cast the parts. I'd love to see a comparison video and hear your toughts on the matter !

Thanks mate. Things is, silicone and resin are cheap where I'm living. Although, the comparison vid does sound like a cool idea
