In case you're wondering. Yes, I did forget to add the footage of Polterghast, even though I did have footage of the fight. Also, apologies for somehow having godmode enabled during the Aquatic Scourge fight.

The Brimstone Elemental's fight is just so sad for me. A once beautiful god-like figure, who lost everything at the hands of a human. Why does she still fight, when she has nothing to fight for? Maybe to take revenge on the race that took everything from her. It really makes you feel like the villain, since your only moral reward is putting her out of her misery and ending it all.
Your fight with Astrum Deus perfectly displays my biggest gripe about Calamity. The bosses have WAY too much hp, so much that the fight just becomes a annoying slog, and you find youself screaming "Just DIE already!"
You could use infinite piercing weapons for Astrum Deus, since it only halves their damage instead of reducing it each time a projectile pierces (in case of limited piercing weapons) and the game has of plenty of those even before golem's defeat: Terra Lance for Melee, Eternal Blizzard + Jester's Arrows for Ranger, Terra Ray + Rainbow Gun or Inferno Fork for Mage, Entropy's Vigil for Summoner, and Deep Wounder for Rogue. It makes the boss nearly a joke!
@@brainofcthulhu2786 doesn’t need to be new bosses to be a good update Lmao I really want new biomes and I’m pretty sure they are thinking about adding some
I'm so happy that they change Anahita(Siren) & Leviathan AI. As a challenger, who beat every bosses Death mode No Hit, they were pretty insane before Rust and Dust. Not their attacks, but their movements(Leviathan is ok). Fighting against Austrum Deus is epic in R&D. Before R&D, he is pretty good boss, but... Boring? Yeah, their broworms shoots balls, like minigum, but... that's it. You just need to fly up and down, and not to touch annoying mines, worms.
Calamity is pretty balanced though. Maybe some stuff like halibut cannon is game breaking but it got nerfed recently. Also, summoner is actually decent and gets a lot of love in calamity
@@brybrybrybrybrybrybrybrybr1830 Have you tried playing calamity with any other mod? It completely overshadows the other mods. As a mod dev I've basically given up trying to make my weapons viable against calamity bosses since that makes them overpowered when calamity isn't used.
a cats True that makes sense. Calamity indeed doesn’t work well with other mods in terms of balance that even various vanilla gear in calamity gets buffed to match with it but still underpowered. But my context was that calamity weapons, accessories and armor are balanced enough to match the calamity bosses

Spoiler: Polterghast is now actually harder than Providence... Wait thats an understatement... Even yharon is now a bit easier than polterghast... Yikes
I didn't know they overhauled the astrum deus fight, I liked the older one better because it didn't feel like the average flying worm boss, instead you got to speed around your entire world keeping the many serpents away.
In my personal opinion: At first, I used to believe this mod was fun and interesting, but in the end, and after a few years I realized the bosses are everything but interesting, they feel like glorified sponges of HP dealing tons of damage, and you can defeat them using always the same tactics of flying around and dashing if needed with the occasional mini bullet hell (With some exceptions of course, like the Ravager which feels like playing Metal Slug). I swear to god, I was falling asleep when Providence kicked in, and suddenly I was lifting my head from the keyboard and Signus was on the screen, I literally blacked out. In that sense, I feel The Redemption mod is so much better, they even made specific arenas for certain encounters forcing you to play by the rules of the mod instead of letting you build the typical wood-platform-arena-mid-air that everyone uses. I still respect the dexterity and reflexes needed to play something like Calamity tho, is not an easy task, but it gets pretty damn repetitive, incredibly fast for my taste. What I like about Calamity are their weapons, but even then, they are all the same as well, great looking animations, dealing millions of damage per second, and I rather play Thorium weapons tbh. The weapons of the Bard class forcing you to attack by the rhythm, or the weapons of the healing class, having their own amazing mechanics, IDK. Sometimes "more" is not equal to "better", and every time I'm watching a boss-rush of Calamity I can't avoid getting bored when the boss in question starts to spawn mini-bosses to raise the difficulty, it feels pretty artificial.
Calamity didn't get as popular as it is from the weapons, DM Dokuro's music and the interesting lore brought most people in. Still, Calamity has some really nice weapons, even if their DPS isn't all that great. Yanmei's Knife and The Final Dawn are my favourites.
And about the bosses, I can definitely agree that most of them are just bullet sponges that are basically duplicates of vanilla ones. I struggled a lot on Astrum Aureus, Plaguebringer Goliath and Polterghast during my Rogue playthrough. The Old Duke, despite literally being an elder Fishron, is much different yet so similar to his young counterpart. The new Yharon and SCal are quite obviously far different from any vanilla boss.
The firestorm cannon is also equally good too, since piercing in Calamity actually has a damage reduction for each segment pierced. Reason why firestorm cannon is that flares for the left click pirce in a barrage of flares, that, and they afflict the On Fire debuff for damage overtime.
Crabulon is the easiest bullet hell boss, after it comes Cryogen, because he also spreads out some spikes, and also he also has a quicker perforator hive attack. Add more, i dont wanna explain longer.
he is using Luiafk all buffs, I can tell because he has the candance buff which doesn't override the lifeforce buff from the all buff so he gets combined effects scaling his hp to above 1k
@@AlPootis It's plantera AI with projectile spam in a biome that wasn't designed for boss fights. A lot of Calamity's other bosses, including ones that used to be AI clones (Cryogen, Hive Mind and Yharon come to mind) are very unique but polterghast stays the same other than minimal balance edits. I'd be perfectly fine with the developers outright removing it and changing the progression triggers for the Abyss stuff Then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this is simply what I feel about it. I apologize if I came off as ignorant and/or simply hating on the mod with no reason.
