I accosiate this song with half of my NPCs dying.

Guys, seriously. Stop saying "I beat him with a Megashark" when someone is asking for tips. That's completely useless considering you have to beat this boss to *_get_* a Megashark.

At first the Destroyer was a cakewalk. Then they made him immune to ichor.

At first he was a literal 123..... (the destroyer) Now he's immune to ichor, good luck!

Even if he is the easiest Mech Boss, He is my favorite out of the 3. Probably because this theme.

The beggining of that songs brings me back memories... First night after unlocking hard mode... Rain begins to fall... "You feel vibrations from deep below..." Oh my... something's coming.... Better prepare myself I was there with some improvised platforms. Just in case, this should be enough... 0:00 "The Destroyer has awoken..." 0:00 - 0:15 The destroyer appeared... The percusions of the song creating that earthquake feeling to it... The Destroyer just not rushed to me right away... it was just there... as an infinity symbol (∞) This huge robotic worm was just taking it's head out now and then ... Just to watching its pray shake in fear... 0:16 onwards. The destroyer buried underground and headed direct to me... Direct hit! I got really scared but there was nothing left to do but fight... Taking 60 DMG from the head and about 20 to 30 DMG from the lasers. The molten armor wasn't just enough... I was barely making 30 damage to it... 30dmg to destroy that huge 8000HP beast! It was clear to me... I can't beat this thing... HP Running low. "I Have to retreat to the upper part of my house and wait to heal, it can't reach me there" I started flying but then... The destroyer probes appeared from nowhere, I didn't realized that The Destroyer was able to spawn those "Where the hell did those came from?" The Destroyer Probes surrounded me and started to shoot me non-stop. I died mid air... Then every 3 or 5 in-game nights... The Destroyer came back... just to Kill me again... The Twins and the Sketon Prime apearred too... but just once each... But the Destroyer kept appearing... Destoying me even when I though i got better armor and weapons... I died a lot to that beast. But then one night he came... I was ready, this time for real. I had this Adamantite armor and these cool weapons +12 armor from accesories and a shitloead of weapons and the nurse prepared to heal in the newly created arena. Designed specifically to fight the destroyer. He came from underground and it was still able to put me to 100hp really quicky. He almost killed me but in the end I were able to win... and then I got this... "The Destroyer Throphy" It wast the best moment in my Terraria life! "The destroyer has been defeated..." I'll never forget you... my deariest terraria foe.

This theme certainly is associated with horrifying beings. A giant disembodied brain, a colossal mechanical worm, the torch god and... an army of snowmen. To be fair, I'd be scared too if the snowman mafia came at my door.

I freaked out when I first saw The Destroyer. I thought "Hey. He cant be THAT big". XD

I was mining when all of a sudden: *You feel vibrations from deep below...* "Come on, this is the worst time for that to happen! I don't even have cobalt armor yet! (Yes, I suck at this game) Oh well, off to the surface I go." * Uses magic mirror * "Ok, I'm waiting... He doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon, so I'll just get some potions." *The Destroyer has awoken!* "Are you kidding? I'm not even out of my house yet!" * panics and runs outside to fight The Destroyer * *Random's face was torn off by Pink Laser*

You gotta love how this is used for threatening bosses throughout its life Destroyer, big and menacing, a large mechcanical worm with a surplus of lasers and will not hesitate to kill your npcs to get to you. Brain of Cthulu, the mastermind of the Crimson, with illusions and bloody auras all around. The Torch God, a never-present yet always watching being who shows anger to you and will act on it when it happens. *The fucken snowman mafia, holy shit my npcs died to it so much. It’s scary.*

They should add some backstory to the bosses in Terraria Otherworld

Version 1.3 should have an upgraded Brain of Cthulhu boss for hard mode in Crimson Biomes called the Elder Brain. The Elder Brain would be roughly the same size as the Brain of Cthulhu, but it starts off surrounded by metalic spears, each one having a turret which fires a glowing ring at the player. The turrets could move independently of the brain and the brain could turn invisible. When all of the turrets are killed, the Elder Brain would gain a metalic mouth and eye, then fly around to ram the player. However in this state it could also teleport up above the player and fire a rainbow colored beam at them. Yes, this is a reference to Mother Brain from Metroid.

This must have been *really* hard with people with no piercing weapons and poor dodging skills...

Am I the only one who finds Destroyer MUCH harder than the other two bosses? I mean seriously, he has barely any good pattern to understand, and shoots so many lasers combined with those of his drones, I find him quite a bitch to beat without very good defense and offense. Just IMO, at least, Twins are the easiest.

More challenging way to beat the destroyer: 1: create a server with plugins 2: be on it SOLO 3: use your megashark that took you 30 hours to acquire with a full inventory of arduously acquired crystal bullets. 4: /spawn destroyer(speed+50)(health=200000)*(size*1.314159)(drops*1) 5: enjoy a good ol' fight.

Easiest way to defeat destroyer: 1. Create a server with plugins 2. Get a bunch of friends 3. Turn on invincibility(opt) 4. Spawn in a Megashark with infinite ammo, +9999 speed and +628376 damage 5. Turn on noclip 6. /spawn destroyer(speed-50)(health=1)(size*0.25)(drops*10) 7. Don't disable invincibility 8. Enjoy being OP

For anyone struggling for this boss, you'll need 4 simple things to succeed: -a daedalus stormbow with piercing arrows (unholy, jester...) that can be acquired in hallowed mimics. Keep in mind you can craft a light key with 15 light souls to spawn a hallowed mimic +bonus you can buy unholy arrows from the arms dealer at night -some wings (harpy wings are great) because they will be very important to progress in hardmode -boots that make you run fast (hermes, lightning, frostspark, terraspark...) -a long platform with some campfires and heart lanterns (you can also add bast statues for survivability. They are found in desert chests or in their room) Furthermore you will need to place full blocks on some parts of the platform in order to block some lasers +bonus if you find heart statues around the map you can wire them to spawn little hearts that heal you Now to beat the boss, you will need to use the bow to hit multiple segments at once. It's going to take some time especially in higher difficulties, but the most important part is to stay aware of your surroundings and clear the probes when they are surrounding you. Finally, never let the head of the worm hit you, as it does a lot of damage instantly. To dodge the attacks, use your wings and run along the platform. Remember, practice makes perfect and you might not get it on your first try. You can summon it by crafting a mechanical worm (iron/lead, vertebra/rotten chunk, soul of night) If you combine all of these tips the destroyer shall be destroyed TL DR: daedalus bow, piercing arrows, long platform with buffs and safezones, wings&boots, practice

god the art work looks like what the destroyer should have looked like or someone should make a animated cartoon of terraria and one the episodes has the main character fighting the destroyer

I figured out the easiest way to beat the Destroyer. Step 1: Build a Skybridge (however long) 250-300 feet above the ground. Step 2: Add a honey pool, heart lantern, heart statue, and campfire to the skybridge. Step 3: Obtain a Nimbus Rod. Step 4: Don't you dare cheat that Nimbus Rod in. Step 5: NO! Step 6: BAD! DON'T YOU DARE! Step 7: You just cheated it in, didn't you... Step 8: Summon the Destroyer (at night) and sit in the honey pool. At first he'll be up on your skybridge with you if you decided to build it a bit short of 300 feet, but eventually he'll go down like a good doggy. Step 9: Fire both Nimbus Clouds to the bottom of the honey pool. If they're at the bottom, they will pass through and hit the Destroyer constantly. Step 10: Re-apply the clouds as needed and Ta-da!

Props to the guy who makes the games soundtracks. They're all so in-depth and amazingly perfect in every way. He deserves an award or something....

Now in the 1.2 patch, similarly to how EoC spawns himself randomly if you have high enough armor, Destroyer does that as well when engaging hardmode. And hmm. Just playin' Terraria 1.2 survival, and the FIRST hardmode night when im just mining cobalt, it spawns himself. WHEN I HAVE MOLTEN ARMOR ._. ReLogic pls. No im NOT Yrimir I cant beat him with molten armor and a waterbolt! I cant even beat him with mythril or palladium armor and decent hardmode ranged and meelee weapons either! 1.3 EDIT: Ah, ReLogic fixed it! Seems as if the bosses dont spawn until you have good enough armor (Destroyer decided to appear once I had full Oricalchum melee set).

Take a moment to imagine the fact that there was someone crazy enough to build this, and the other three mech bosses. Now realize that there's probably someone on Earth insane enough to do this as well.

The text on the side appearing with the beat is a nice touch.

Brain of Cthulhu: The most easiest boss in terraria. If you kill the Creepers they will drop hearts everywhere. And, the Brain of Cthulhu's HP is 2,000. The truly most important thing is 'He is sleeping in the Crimson, and the other monsters are stronger than the boss!

So many years since I first heard this, so many updates to the game since then, and this still remains in my top 10 Terraria tracks. There's some steep competition, too.

Anyone would shit their pants if this thing came face to face with them.

(with my set of tools) I find the Destroyer quite easy, and I farm him for hallowed bars. The other hard mode bosses are a lot harder.

Just beat this guy for the first time today! Wasn't expecting to beat him... so seeing him suddenly vanish brought a very loud "I GOT HIM!!"

If anyone needs help, Slime mount, Fetid Banghaks (dropped from crimson mimics), whips, Nimbus rod, full Titanium Armor and Orange zapinator are useful when fighting the destroyer.

Fun tip: Daedalus Stormbow with Holy Arrows utterly CHEESES the Destroyer, so hard that I felt guilty for using it.

the sound of smashing 3 crimson hearts and summoning brain of cthulhu, just realizing you're in a space too small to fight it and start struggling while also spamming water bolts (at least for me)

Protip: the melee attacks of this boss do colossally more damage than the lasers it fires. The lasers only do 22-25 damage, while melee does 50 (probe), 55 (body) or 70 (head). That's a lot. If you have about 40 defense, you're looking at 2-5 damage versus 30-50. If you're far enough above the ground, you're safe from the Destroyer's melee. Maybe just build a horizontal line of stone blocks about 150 blocks above the ground, with a couple wooden platforms in the middle. This way he can't zap you with a laser barrage either. Just fend off the probes and you're golden. Also, a campfire + heart lamp can't hurt.

When somebody says to me: *"You will get owned in Terraria"* I am all like: OK but first kill these guys. *WOF has awoken!* *The Destroyer has awoken!* *Plantera has awoken!* Then I would say: *"Now, who's the one that got owned, HUH?"* Total way to deal with noobs.
