@@Moofinxdthe reason it's good on this video is because it's 100% of the time, but few weapons can get high enough crit over 100% to benefit from a higher tier crit
Definitely melee speed. I remember using terrasavr to put a shinobi infiltrators torso in every armor and accessory slot and using the kaleidoscope lmao
I feel like relogic should add a feature where having over 100% crit rate should keep you on the upper damage scale, like dealing 100 damage would have you dealing 100-115 more instead of the 85-114 range, to kinda make up for the lack of effect
Calamity mod has an item that does that. But it also reduces crit rate to 0% and the item marks enemies at specific spots that if you hit, then you deal the critical damage. Sadly it's only for ranger.
PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU COVER THE FETID BAGHNAKHS! Awesome early hardmode weapon, shreds anything that gets close, and you just need to kill a Crimson Mimic for them.
A lot of people are saying they aren’t viable after the nerf makes no sense to me because I beat Plantera with them using a post mech tank setup in my most recent play through
Id love to see a review of the book of skulls, cause its my second favourite pre-hardmode magic weapon its pretty much a direct upgrade to the demon scythe, with similar damage, amazing homing power, good piercing and minus the annoying wind up before the projectile moves Since the only real downsides are the high mana cost and kinda slow projectiles, i think it's a criminally underrated mage weapon that i see get ignored in favour of water bolt (i absolutely despise looking for this thing) and the more obvious post skeletron magic weapons
Great video, i would love if you covered more things about mounts, my favorite is the Golf Cart, it provides good mobility after defeating Skeletron, and my second favorite is the Bunny mount, a pre-boss mount with good mobility and no fall damage that is available after 5 fishing quests.
summoner can enjoy crits but not through normal means 10% from kaleidoscope 12% from morning star and 16%/25% for lightning aura from monk's armor/shinobi infiltrator armor respectively but honestly dunno if first two and the last one do stack and don't overlap with no result
For those that are curious about min-maxing dps, Crit & Bonus Damage are multipliers of each other, ideally you want both to be equal. Ex. given a weapon with 100 base damage where the first multiplier is Bonus Damage and the second is Crit, average damage/hit can be calculated as such No Stats: 100 * 1.0 * 1.0 = 100 100% Crit: 100 * 1.0 * 2.0 = 200 100% Damage: 100 * 2.0 * 1.0 = 200 50% Crit & 50% Damage: 100 * 1.5 * 1.5 = 225 Each stat individually stacks additively, generally meaning the more you have the less valuable it is. Defense being the way it is in Terraria technically makes Damage Bonuses slightly more valuable than Crit assuming both are even, but that's pretty niche, and not worth further optimization 💀
All depends on attack speed IMO, I'd rather have consistent 2* damage than 3* damage increase here and there, menacing, or lucky, or mixed. They make almost little to no difference. The best dps increase would to have perfect aim.
from someone who likes optimizing builds crit is always mathematically worse than raw damage, not just because of it's random nature, but because the damage from a crit is applied after defense reduces damage (first reduced, then doubled) however, in a pure dps scenario though, the presence of two multiplicative damage bonuses will always mean that if you have some mix of crit and damage, you will gain exponentially more damage than if you only had one or the other every build is different and is going to benefit from one or the other stat more than others, however, as a rule of thumb for pure class builds, you're going to want slightly more damage than crit chance, count it up from your accessories, your armor, your reforges, the weapon's base stats, everything, if you dont want to think about how your weapons benefit from each bonus, then a 6/4 ratio of damage to crit is good that said, if you're running a hybrid build, absolutely never run anything other than menacing, and optimize for pure damage at all times, crit is half as effective on these builds and the exponential curve is halved as well these crit debates are also second to max optimised hybrid builds because they deal wayyy more damage than pure class builds despite the lack of the exponential increases that crit provides
All depends on attack speed IMO, I'd rather have consistent 2* damage than 3* damage increase here and there, menacing, or lucky, or mixed. They make almost little to no difference. The best dps increase would to have perfect aim.
@@porkeyminch8044You can use two weapons at once, typically only seen with summoner, you can have say a max stardust Dragon and use a last prism, typically you will do more damage than the guy that was only using a last prism
you should make a video touring the world you use to make all your showcase videos i think it would be cool to see all the farms and where the magic happens plus anything else cool you’ve done just for fun!
One game i played actually has a mechanic for going over 100% crit chance. Crits deal x2 damage. If you have, say, a 115% crit chance, then you'd always deal x2 damage, with a 15% chance to do x3 damage. This continues indefinitely, if you're lucky enough to get that far.
For your next video, can you find the absolute "best" setup for a few popular and common weapons? For example, what is the exact setup needed to maximize DPS from Nights Edge.
hey could you do a cursed flames review? it's one of my favorite corruption mage weapon for the early and even middle hard mode, doing good for events and in some cases even bosses, would be really nice if you could do one!
In theory crit chance (CC) and damage (D) increase your average dps equally. 100 damage (or any amount of base damage for that matter) + 10% of either will both result in an average of 110 D (over 10 shots, and not taking luck or any other "randomiser" stat/formula into account) over 10 hits. Thus technically it doesn't really matter which one you'd increase until you reach the hard CC cap of 100%. After that it's boosting D stat as much as you can, and increasing luck also works a bit.
THANK YOU sockrteez I've thought for a while now that crit chance was the best way to go for all three of these classes rather than just ranged My last three playthroughs have been ranged gfb, mage gfb, and melee ftw (humble brag), and during my melee and mage playthroughs I discovered that a high crit chance build gives more consistently high damage than both menacing and melee speed, and also boosts the vampire knives from doing 1-2 healing per hit mostly, to healing 4-6 health fairly frequently, this also goes for the healing spectre hood, and obviously greatly boosts the both of these items healing capabilities, So, with all of that being said, thank you for making this video and trying it out. This is an edit, but I'd like to say: I like your content and keep up the good work Also when I first saw the thumbnail of this video I actually thought it was a terrasteel video bc the thumbnail looked like his style
Prolly my most favorite build out there in Terraria. Imagine Re-Logic actually buffing Crit builds by saying "If your crit chance is at 100%, then 100% of your attacks are crit hits, and anywhere at 101% or above instantly converts the extra crit chance to crit damage while still dealing 100% chance to perform critical hits" imagine how broken that could be though :O
I wonder what is the most efficient dps setup. The crit chance should basically increase your damage by its percantage in the longrun, ie if you have a 80% crit chance and you fired 100 shots on average it should be 80/100 crits so you basically did 180% dmg. So the question is if its better to have something like 80% cc and lets say +20% overall dmg or just 100% cc or something along the lines
It's actually mathematically optimal to split your stats exactly 50/50 between crit chance and raw damage. You will have the best DPS if you do so. (if the weapon has 50% crit chance, then you want to have 50% bonus damage)
Pretty sure that if you go full crit mods luck potions and biome torches with any other luck stuff I'm pretty sure you can get the overall damage higher than having full menacing
if you're looking to maximize average damage, try to have the same percent increase of crit chance and damage boost. The downside being less consistent crits, and less average knockback since crits increase knockback
You know, I think the blizzard staff is horrbily underrated. i see literally no one using it, and i think it deserves more love for literally being a better meteor staff
In this video Shyguymask shows firecracker critting in order to kill EOL. In the description he mentions it.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vEDFjdZYdF8.html@@terraSpark902
I just realised a couple of weeks ago that your name Sockrteez is pronounced the same as the philosopher Socrates. I don't know if there is any correlation between the 2, I just found is interesting.
Pulse bow, Shroomite armor, and all ranger (and movement) accessories set to lucky and you're hitting for 400 damage and shredding OoA. Note: this is what I used in my last multiplayer ranged setup.
okay so i use the sniper rifle. not yet the vortex armor. ur saying i have 80 crit chance then? IF thats indeed the case. Wich accesories are good for more sniper dmg. 80 crit is a good rate for me, so more attack speed maybe? with sniper would that be insane? having that and high attack speed accesories for increased speed.
Hi, can you please do a review on orange zappinator i just got it in my expert mode playthrough and idk if it's a good weapon or if there are other weapons i should use. I used mage class btw on the playthrough
Best way is to get as much crit chance as you can without sacrificing items that give you more than 10% damage. Wish this game worked like warframe where over 100% CC would gove you a chance to deal extra crits which would just double the crit damage, aka triple damage rather than double.
People sleep way too much on critical strike chance. It's especially good for mages when they are on the mana sickness debuff as your crit doesn't get lowered and only your damage.
