Since I discovered the first 3 videos on how to become millionaires in TerraTech I immediately appreciated the style, simple but exhaustive, of your videos ... and I was impatient to see how it would continue ... thank you for this new chapter
My first foray into 60fps video production - let me know if you like it! :-) It was a real pain trying to find new render settings that would work with it (plus other issues). I'm sorry these vids often look so fuzzy in places - that's RU-vid's fairly aggressive compression that really does not like the amount of information being shown in time-lapses, in particular. I've been able to find no way around this. I'm sure you still get the ideas, though. :-)

Please make more of these!!!!!!! The first one (the speedrun) was what kept me playing beacuase the 4x Autominers just skyrocketed my cash so I could build wacky stuff in campaign :) Your explanation and solid game understanding and tips are just so useful.

This episode was kind of a bridge to the main crafting ideas I want to show next time, but I really wanted to stress how useful the crafting approach can be for unlocking blocks, particularly for early flight. Out of curiosity, where in RU-vid did you see this video? I've tried releasing this one without notifying all my subscribers, to avoid spamming Terraria fans with TerraTech content. I'm wondering if RU-vid's clever enough to still recommend it to those subscribers who are definitely interested...

Thanks. And sorry, that'll be my fault that you didn't see it: I opted to not notify all my subscribers when I published it. I didn't want to spam the majority of my (Terraria) subscribers with a notification that they wouldn't be interested in (and loose a bunch of subs again). So I was hoping that the RU-vid recommendation algorithm would be smart enough to show this to the subs who *are* definitely into TerraTech. Eventually... You could try clicking the notification bell, but I've no idea what that is triggered by (I'm such a YouTub nub.)
just a little info : you can add more than 2+5 stuff in the Scrapper "waiting list", with the venture i see 2+20, for the gso it's 2+10 (min) but you can add more manually (2+14), but i can't go beyond 2+1 with geocorp .. their stuff is so big :)
Sure. The stacked blocks can get in the way, in various ways. Which is why I've kinda gone back to GSO scrappers with my ultimate "CFS Godzilla" crafter, because, in practice, you can't get more than the 2+1 resource blocks in the GC scrappers. :-) Hopefully we'll get to show that in a video... One of these years.

It's definitely worth tidying up near your base, but the loose block debris out here will just despawn after a couple minutes. :-) Auto-mined resource chunks are a different matter - they are the FPS death!
Thanks, yeah. I *might* have been recommended to me before. ;-) And I might have already bought it too. :-) But I feel like there's more influence I can have on this game, right now - I've seen a lot of very clever stuff made in Factorio that is beyond my current cognitive limitations. :-s
@@ZeroGravitas Well i realized something BIG as far as mining is concerned: You had said in your video the autominers stop mining but keep a running tally when you get too far away. Turns out that SEEMS to be the same as the enemy de-spawn distance. i was playing on the salt flats getting carbonite for one of the GEOCorp mining missions, had my (YOUR) quad miners set up to mine two veins. In spawned GIANT TECH. So I ran until they de-spawned and saved my setup from a painful death. When i popped back up nearby it shot out the carbonite every 10 seconds. So the ranges appear to be MUCH shorter on XB1. As for the draw distance, this actually might be even shorter.
@@solidus3168 That's interesting... I expected the draw distance to be sorter, but hadn't thought they would use a different load distance too. Makes sense, I guess. That's going to make it more impossible to mine different biomes simultaneously. But I guess you just have to go back and re-visit them to get the faster 10s payout rates.

Hey. Do you understand the two control systems and the way the keys change between being on the ground and airborne? You need to hold down [Shift] while taking off *and* flying, but you only hold down [W], for forwards, until you're in the, then once you let go of it, [W] becomes pitch down, so press [S] to pitch up and climb. This plane should take off OK on the flat, if you've copies it exactly. But if you're struggling, still, you could use a small hill or cliff to launch off, to get airborne more easily. :-)
".8"...? Oh, the game version(?). You can't buy arbitrary snapshots in campaign... (Not since over 2 years back.) Only the tech that you were driving when you die... And that it costs the same as buying the blocks at shop/payload terminal - 3x the sell value of the block's constituent parts.
@@ZeroGravitas WHOAAA!!!! Now it makes more sense when I try to summon say: "Turret Joe", or anything else I have saved as a snapshot, it costs an arm and a leg... Cost me 27K to call my shielded/healing refining setup, then add like 12K for EACH of the quad autominers to set down.... that is VERY EXPENSIVE when you need to call something in. I cannot imagine how much it is going to cost to build something nice like you had here and then keep calling an sending away the airplane when you wanna do a simple scout run and maybe it might not be worth driving GODZILLA over there.
@@solidus3168 You're really confusing me... So you're saying that console has the option to load techs in by buying them, if you don't have the blocks? Can't do this on PC. It does display a price from the tech, in our loader, but it's not relevant unless you're re-buying the tech you were driving that got destroyed...
I am so very glad to be wrong about this. I did some testing, for science. As it turns out the price that it shows me on console in the menu is only for when you die. I actually took three screenshots To show my wallet before during and after. it was supposed to cost me 70 something thousand bucks and it costed me zero. So basically I misunderstood the entire system and so it’s a happy day!!!! BRING ON THE ARMADA TO PROTECT THE MINING OPERATIONS!!!!!!!!
