Omg Claire I have to admit the first half of the video I don’t think I have ever seen a messier disaster in all my life and I caught myself thinking ‘she’s definitely not going to come back from this, what a mess!!’ Hahaha but sure enough you turned disaster into gold!! That filling in the holes afterwards is genius!! Bye bye holes!! And I love your saying ‘made with love not perfection!’ That needs to go on a tshirt!!! I love that! Once again babe you surprised me with how good these turned out!
I am so happy I watched this, I am planning on making a side table but have been pulling my hair out thinking about the massive air pockets that I won't be able to fill but now I can. Those pieces are amazing 😍
ohhhhh I also have a table mould not used it yet but that would definitely work :) if you keep the background colour - a colour that can easily be matched it will be amazing xx
I'm so sorry you are sick ... But it is letting me catch up (which I hope I never completely do...I don't want to run out of videos .lol). I can't wait to play with this medium . Soon hopefully. Feel better soon,. (Lourin -Florida)
Love this method it’s so much easier and quicker 🙌 the the traditional way and to fill the holes I use a little paint brush to dab in more Jesmonite to the holes and sand again works a treat ❤
Aaahhh I screamed with joy when you added the yellow to fix the holes 💛 it reminds me of fresh Prince vibes and of the early 80s burger places before mcdonalds came to the UK those coasters are wiiiiillllld and so much fun X
That was pretty cool Claire. We had a terrazzo floor when I was a kid back in the 50’s. Loved that floor, but don’t recall seeing it since. Nicely done!
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I can't remember the floors but we had a funny sort of deep green sofa! Or was that my aunty that had that? Haha I remember a hole in a floor board under where the door shut on my brothers room, and he stashed things under there! I often wonder if people who lived there after us kept that or replaced it? Memories, aren't they great things?!
Hiya Claire as usual some beautiful items, I like the way you bring the mistakes to the fore and then fix them so as you wouldn’t know..... and laugh at yourself! Fab content as always tfs Jax 🥰x
These are my go to videos before i start my jesmonite/rco-pour journey. Can i ask how much weight the pots were and how much you'd sell them for? Same for the coasters please
HI Claire, Loved your coasters you had a really helpful tip from the Ladies Well done Ladies 👍 Claire, Instead Of the sealer you used Could you seal them with resin ? 👍❤️ Lin
heyyyy Linda .. yes you can use Resin I just wasnt sure if the resin would truly fill the holes. After this of course, Jesmonite is heat proof up to a seriously high temp. Resin is not .. so if you wanted to use them for hot drinks you would have to be sure that your resin is heat proof. xx
Claire holding the coaster and rubbing it to sand it made me think of my Dad sharpening his cut-throat razor on the special strap!! Anyone remember those?
@@ClairesCraftyCorner He used a Wilkinsons safety razor to shave. But had used the cut-throat previously, probably during the war (both my parents served in WWII). He kept it in good nick, though!
Loved this, Im just for my 1st Jesmonite kit to arrive !, 😁, could you tell where I could purchase the sealer from please?, I'm so e cited to start making a mess😂
heyyyy my lovely ... the sealer should be available from the same stockist but sadly there is a shortage and I know everyone is struggling to get hold of the sealer :( you can use concrete tile sealer someone told me they tried it and it works great x
If you ran into a situation where there were so many holes that using a single color to fill them in would overpower the piece, do you think you could use clear resin instead?
heyyyy Micah .. I think if that happened I would just use the backing colour so they were not so noticable at all x failing this .. you could use Resin but this would throw up other issues like the heatproof nature of the resin and if you wanted an Eco product then Resin would not be viable. However Resin is a possibility yes I am also not sure if the holes would still be visible or utterly disguised.x
heyyyyy lovie... A top coat of resin would work yes .. I am not sure if visually you would still se the holes but it would definitely add a flat surface x
Hi Claire! I have a problem about the scratches. I have a lot of them on my pieces, and I don't know how to make it disappear or not making it. Do you have any advice? Thank you!
Heyyyyy lovely ... scratches in jesmonite ? Is this because of the sandpaper grit ? My advice would be work up to 300 or even 500 the scratches will go .. start at 180
