I sprayed this on the back of my hand in Nordstrom and didn't really like it. I shopped there and a few other places in the mall and by the time I got back in the car I loved it, went back in and bought it lol.
That’s exactly what happened to me when I went to Nordstrom. Me and my sister didn’t like it. Walked to some other shops in the mall, said I kinda like it. Then a little later I loved it. I bought the scent the next day lol
Same. Picked up a sample card at Nordstrom today and didn’t care for it. Just walked into my room now and got a whiff of something amazing. Went through the sample cards and found the Terre. Glad I didn’t buy anything else. Will probably be back for it later.
My signature fragrance. It took me some time to really appreciate it. It's classy, smooth and I know most guys where I live will not be wearing this. Perfect.
I just received the EDT version in the mail today. Initial reaction to this fragrance, very good! I sprayed it on indoors and it smelled good, then I stepped outside and on the wind stirred it up a bit, it smelled even better!
I remember this amazing fragrance when I was buying a suit at Nordstrom in the summer of 2009. The wonderful gentleman helping me was wearing a classic suit himself and wearing this classic. I'm never afraid to ask someone what they're wearing and I did that day. I bought this fragrance on the spot as it had such a classic smell. I have since bought several bottles of this juice since that initial buy in 2009 and it will never leave my rotation. Thanks Steven for another wonderful video.
Shane G Cool story. This fragrance actually feels like it should be worn with a suit (for the most part). It's smooth and citrusy, but very mature, masculine and feels like it should be taken seriously.
Tyrone E I've pulled it off several times without wearing a suit. But I think your spot on about using it with a suit as it is very masculine as you said. Thanks for the input Tyrone as I couldn't agree more. Have a great day man.
I can't even emphasize just how great Terre D'Hermes is! Cologne just smells so elegant, sweet, welcoming, and sensual. The price is above most fragrances, however it's definitely worth its cost. The bottle is great. It looks very expensive. I would highly recommend purchasing Terre D'Hermes!
I'm 26 and just bought the Parfum type of Terre d'Hermès today, and it smells really really really unique, fancy, luxurious, manly, and sweet. I just only applied two sprays on my neck, shockingly it also turned the vibes of my so called average bedroom to became the successful wealthy classy executive Gentleman's bedroom that lives on the luxury penthouse with his Bentley parked downstairs in the mega metropolitan area of a city. Big thanks for the amazing review from you !!! I think i'm gonna stay for this fragrance for a couple years ahead
Herms is absolutely a classic one. You may not love smelling yourself, you may not get compliments. But they will miss your perfume smell in your absence.
Steven, I apologise in advance for being off-topic, but I’d like to express my deep admiration and acknowledgment for the effort you put forth into your work. Your logophilic eloquence never fails to astonish me and I unabashedly concede my articulation is nowhere near as adept as your own, hence why I particularly enjoy your content as I also love to learn new words and better my vocabulary. I also appreciate your dapper presentation and gentlemanly conduct in your reviews. Thank you very much for being one of few reviewers that acted as a catalyst in me developing my passion for collecting fragrances four years ago, a hobby I hold dear. Keep up the amazing work!
I gave last few juices of the herms bottle to father in law, while traveling to another country because I don’t want to carry a heavy bottle which has little perfume. After some days he applied everyone started remembering me.. “oh I can smell Imran” . The smell is unique.. you will be remembered 😊
I tried Terre d Hermes several years ago and I didn't quite like it,in my opinion this cologne is definitely a LOVE,HATE affair, there is no in between, but then again I wasn't really into those type of citrus scents like I am today,so maybe I'll revisit it again one day, great review as always my man.... #NEWJERSEY
Finally subbed after watching for a few weeks and must say you earned it. Professional, educated, informative and very accurate with your fragrance reviews! I enjoy the smell breakdown and then final review....nobody else does it that way ,consistently, like you. Keep up the good work and don't slow down on vids. I will be sampling Terre dHermes based on this review
My signature scent 😍 I have the Edt and parfum version. Also a cheapy, which is a little similar but not as much in the way of performance "Yardley citrus wood" in case anyone wants something affordable. Great video - first person to really review this properly and give it the love it truly deserves. Thanks you from uk - southampton
Thank you for mentioning this fragrance! I am sure that it will help people out! Also, a fragrance that's a bit higher in quality with a similar smell is Laef by Bolvaint Paris. Thank you for watching, Mohamed!
Hey Stephen! I got a bunch of samples and Terre D'Hermes was one of them. Initially, it was VERY strong and orangey and I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either and I got that citronella vibe, too. I was about to write it off and take a shower but I had to leave it on and see where it went. OMG! I'm so glad I waited! After an hour, it became a lot less pungent and became kinda like a creamsicle. I changes so dramatically over time and gets very elegant. Great stuff and doesn't smell like anything else. Fantastic!!!!! Thanks for the review!
Redolessence Thank you Steven for your time. Roja Dove Vetiver is hard to find. Thinking about TDH Intense Vetiver/Creed Vetiver/TF Grey/Guerlain Vetiver...
TDH Parfum is my first full fragrance bottle I've purchased. I originally bought a sample decant online along with Creed Aventus and Tom Ford Oud Wood, and it was easily my favorite. It's sweet, woody/grassy, and unique from my perspective as a newbie to the fragrance world. It set a high bar for exploring other fragrances. I love it!
2018 and got my hands on this one EDP 200 ml...lasts easily 8 hours...for sure to be worn in a formal environment...it takes the game to another level... fabulous notes and get better as it comes in contact with the skin! Worth every penny.
This is a niche fragrance in my view , so it won't be for everyone however that's what makes it so special be brave step outside the box and wear this fragrance with confidence and the compliments will come your way. I would say this Fragrance is well suited to the middle aged to mature man who wants to make a statement and that statement is confidence and sophistication. I am not saying young people cannot wear this but I don't think it's a fragrance that a young person would typically go for of course this is just my opinion. What do you think Stephen ?
I agree that this isn't a fragrance a young person would typically go for. It is sophisticated and refined. I find that younger people gravitate towards calone/aquatic heavy fragrances that also contain ambroxan and iso-e-super. Sauvage and Prada Luna Rossa Carbon are great examples. The citrus in this one makes it exceptional. Thank you for watching!
The person said that Hermes smells like bug spray probably still uses Axe Body Spray . I actually tried it out for the first time a year ago and again yesterday . and it is literally the greatest most natural cologne I've ever used in my life I couldn't stop smelling myself at all I felt like I was in the forest from a fantasy fairy tale .
Do you think this is suitable for a 22 years old? I tried a sample and I really liked it, it was really classy, maybe not to wear everyday in class, but I really loved how it dried down
Hermes is a designer house that produces niche quality fragrances. Very fond of Terre. My signature scent during the spring. Tremendous review Steven. Complex heart & very masculine.
great stuff as usual. it took me about eight years to love this fragrance and now I can't see how I did not appreciate it sooner. Going to get a couple of backup bottles. please at dior eau Sauvage edt
I just tried this yesterday for the first time and I really like it a lot. I was checking out different citrus summer options, and was originally trying out the Hermes D'orange Vert. Both are really nice. Tom Ford Mandarino Di Almalfi Acqua is where I ended up, but I definitely want this as well.
Great review, Steven. Received my 100ml EDT yesterday. Blind buy, but throughly researched . The uniqueness of this fragrance is appealing to me. Will be rigorously putting this one through skin test this week.
can't believe that you haven't review this 'piece of art' until now :D it's been my signature scent for a while ;) Great Great Great fragrance by Hermes ! anw, love your reviews Steven !
to me mahogany woods its the smell of an orange grove in the fall, hermes is the smell of the oranges and leafs that fall on the soil and has that earthy tone and Aqua Amara is the same orange grove after it just rained
From the samples I didn´t like the EDT. It reminded me of an orange scented cleaner. But recently I bought the pure parfum version and fell in love with it. And today I bought the EDT and Eau Tres Fraiche and totally love the whole line (except the vetiver flanker). Maaan that Eau Tres Fraiche smells so natural...beautifull bitter orange.
just a question is there one above all cologne that's just a one stop shop it will last long project well and pack a punch because u can spend so much money like I have and things just don't work smells great but don't project.
Did they reformulate it? WHen I first tried it I HATED IT. smelled like some kind of chemical cleaner.. was nasty.. then i tried the EDP version and hated that even more... years later I tried the EDP again and enjoyed it. I don't know if it was my taste changing or the fragrance changed? I would actually wear the EDP version now.. has a unique smell... Not sure if I like the EDT.. i need to try it again. I also tried the white version.. didn't care for it.. to me it was more of a cumin kind of version..
What am I missing on this? I've tried testers in several stores and get NO citrus. I get a dirty vetiver and dries down woody to an Aramis thing (I hate Aramis). Since you said it's 2006, is it different than what's on the shelves now (2019-20)? And if it is, where can I get this one?
In a world full of sweet, feminine scents for men, this masculine, retro type fragrance is a huge breath of fresh air. This is not an old man fragrance by any stretch of the imagination. Any age can pull this off. I f you like the scent then own it! Terre along with FM French Lover are the best in this genre.
does anybody know the name of the amouge pure yellow juice sitting in his collection...in the back there... directly next to the all white bottle of amouge ?? the bottle looks cool also looks incredible but never got my nose on it ?? thanks...
1. Pick up some samples of things *you* like and suits your style. 2. Get a second or third opinion on it. Wear it out and look up reviews. 3. If you love it and other people around you love it, go ahead and invest in a bottle.
Great review! I just recently started watching youtube reviews and I find your reviews extremely informative and insightful. My wife bought me a bottle of the Eau de Toilette several years ago and I really enjoyed it, but I have found that by the time I get to the end of a bottle I'm pretty done with that sc ent for a while. Since it has been several years I plan on buying another but I have a question. What would be the biggest difference in the Eau de Parfum and the Eau de Toilette. I heard that the Parfum is heavier and has less of the citrus scent and that if you live in a warmer climate as I do it is too heavy. I'm just looking for some guidance on weather to stay with the Toilette or check out the Parfum. Thanks again,Oscar
Thank you for watching, Stefanos! I have been wearing it a lot lately, and I can't wait for the summer time so I can wear it more often. Have a wonderful weekend!
I love this fragrance I wear this and tre fraiche as well can you do a top 5 ,or ten from Jean Claude Ellena,Maison Francis Kurkdjian etc..pick a nose and pick a few from that nose, maybe when you and Carlos are together, or not. so love this fragrance and the tre fraiche was my first Hermès fragrance,I have many now,I love how they also sell the nomads so I can travel with them. take care all the best to you and Jen MJ
Thanks Steven, Many question please what do you think: Having Guerlain lhomme ideal cologne and DUA Vetiver clone of Roja and Dunhill Icon Silver bottle and Rasasi wow Woody....do i still need Terre d'hermes EDT in my collection? I am also planning for Encre Noir along with those...do i need it as well what do you think? I like Vetiver a lot...and since this is a clean vetiver as i am seeing it means i won't need Mugler Cologne isn't? (I mean if i get Terre D'hermes EDT) One last question, do i need CHANEL Edition Blanche in presence of L'homme Ideal Cologne? That's just an extra question i am not sure i would be paying for it...
amel kamlide J'ai acheté recement un flacon de 125 ml recharge parfum terre d'hermes chez parfumdo , il ne sent pas beaucoup et au bout d'une heure , on ne sent rien . pourriez vous me dire si c'est une contre facon .
it took me awhile to put my hands on this one & I just got it . It smells great & it reminds me very much of Cartier declaration & I believe he is the perfumer on that one . It's very classy & timeless ! ❤️❤️👀
I really enjoy the citrus notes but the performance is poor on my skin. I don't work in an office but if i did I'd probably reach for this one a lot more.
One of my favorites, been wearing it for at least a few years now. FYI, the base of the bottle is a letter H, in reference to the brand. I myself didn't catch that one for some time. Cheers!
I'm always looking for citrus fragrances that stay unique. I blew this off until a friend who knows I'm a frag geek gave me a sample. It is totally solid, fresh, yet warm, and somehow still unique. Something tells me it is ripe for reformulation. I'd better get a bottle.
I like both EDT and EDP, but I would go with the EDP one because it goes almost straight to the base with excellent woody notes and it does not project too much like the EDT (let alone the longevity), pure opulence to me. It is perfect for sending the message of "I do mean business" in a professional environment and it would require a well tailored suit to complement it, yes it does smell mature (30+) but it exudes class as it is not dated. I can't wait to get my hands on a full bottle in my next trip! ps: wouldn't there be a video review in another language after 34K subscribers?
The language video is coming out either tomorrow or the day after! I am excited to release it! The EDP version of Terre is awesome! Thank you for watching!
6:08 answers your question, the EDT version is loud. Also look for the video (it has subtitles) "Perfume Terre D´Hermés EDT Vs Terre D´Hermés Parfum Review/ Resenha", spot on review.
i had seen your review on dior homme as well. By chance I am really confused to choose between Terre d'hermes and dior home right now. if have to choose one, In term of smelling which one do you prefer ? thanks
The first time I smelled it, I was like "What the .....!!??" But somehow I kept trying it whenever I went to Sephora. I couldn't neglect it. There was something that attracted me even though I kept convincing myself that I hate it... Fast forward. Now I have 1 bottle at home already.... and I love it.....
It's a masterpiece indeed! The orange smells so real n refreshing in Hermes fragrances...i recently bought Concentré d'Orange Verte(un jardin series) n it's fantastic as well...if u could smell that n do a review also would be great!
Hey Steven i'm looking for a more natural smell for spring and summer. I was thinking Mugler Cologne but idk how i would feel smelling soapy (But i havent actually smelled it) I was also thinking about molecule 01. Any recommendation?
Steven, I couldn't agree with you more. Terre d'Hermes is a wonderful fragrance. Would you agree that it's a scent for any man who enjoys and embraces a challenge?
Is the batch code here @ 1:23 and here @ 2:01 8BA3W? If so, it's from Feb. 2008! If it's BBAXW or BBA3W or BBA0W, it's not listed on Checkfresh.com. Please mention the codes or date of the bottle. The most interesting part of the video is seeing what "vintage" the discounters are selling if not purchased at a major dept store. Even from a major store, it would be interesting to see if they're selling the latest bottles. Another suggestion would be the *Redolessence - Consumer Advocate* portion of the video. A graphic comparison of prices at all the discounters and major dept. stores would be very helpful, and very interesting when watching the video years from now. I usually have about 5 browser windows open during your videos searching for batch codes, production dates, and prices at about 4 different discounters. It's currently $47 from Fragrancenet and $59 after your discount from Foreverlux for the 3.7 oz edt. Two interesting comparisons for you: One would have been to compare it to the edp which is available for $2 from Fragrancenet and another would be to check the Fine Accoutrements L'Orange Noir aftershave which is based on this. Thanks for another video. You definitely get my fingers moving on the keyboard with these uploads!
Amazing review as usual. For me I have a love and hate relationship with this. When I don't wear it I miss it. Have you tried the EDP? Which one to you prefer? Thank you for answering!
Such a classy fragrance . I have both the EDT and Pure Parfum. Not sure which one I like better , but the EDT projects a bit more. Keep up the great work dude
Redolessence - I just got this as a sample today and felt like the opening smelled very herb like...almost like oregano. I do smell the orange and citrus in it, but I'm not sure I like the opening too much. As it dries down it gets more powdery on my skin. It smells better on the dry down, but I'm not too sure about this one.
You mention 3 fragrances when referring to the vetiver the first is sycomore the second is encre noire but I couldn't determine the third reference it sounded like Grey lock by Fleure but my searches aren't finding it. Wonder if you could share that third reference as I continue to look for a cheaper version of Sycomore type vetiver. I have the Encre Noir and am on the look out for others of the dirty vetiver type. But less expensive then Chanel.
Hey Steven, I'm on the fence with this one whether or not to buy or not. I'm trying to figure what the batch code is on their bottles. Trying to figure out if the bottle I'm looking at is from 2012. Is it all numbers or are there letters with it also? Great review by the way, keep up the fantastic work!
podria hacer un review de sun java de frank olivier mi hija de 12 años le gusto esta fragancia por encima de 20 otras entra versace , gucci , dolce gabanna , 1 million y muchas mas eso me parecio interesante
