I think Terrence is missing the fundamental principle of multiplication. 1 x 1 essentially means 1 (one time) is 1. 1 x 0 means 1 zero times is zero. Yeah math is an expression, thats why we use the term SUM to express when you take 2 numbers and combine them. multiplication is when you express repeated addition. that's why we have a + and an x, one of the numbers is how many times to repeat the addition of the other number, giving you the product.

They have a very know it all, poor attitude and shut things down quickly when many of them are oblivious to the actual answers. Where is the humility in his response? There is hardly any. There is a very gate keeper type attitude with these guys. He could very well be all wrong, and thats fine. I am just simply addressing the attitude of some of these guys.
Neil has absolutely nothing new to say. He literally has memorized his answers to softball questions. Not saying he's a bad guy, but it seems that if you're not a scientist, then you don't warrant listening to.
Niel actually made a response going over what he actually said and he was super chill. Maybe a little blunt in a few places but he actually gave him the time of day to explain to him why he is wrong and treated it the same way he would with any other colleague as if it were a peer reviewed study. I can’t say I’m that patient.

Neil wont talk to Terrence because it will be a total waste of time, Terrence CAN'T understand why he is wrong. 1 X 1 does not = 2 Terrence has NOTHING to show for all his theories, Terence has ZERO tests that prove what he thinks. This would be a hour of Terence saying things that are clearly wrong and or what he just believes with ZERO evidence.

You must apply multiplication within a well-defined context to have meaning. Your example "one orange times one apple" is not contextually appropriate and can there for not be logically defined.

His point is how can multiplying come out with a negative. For example if you have a pencil infront of you and you were to multiply that pencil by 1 then you would have 2 infront of you so how can a positive interaction have a negative result. Not saying he’s right but that’s his point

Pencil x1 means you have one pencil. Pencil x2 means you added another pencil to your collection. Also this concept breaks when you try it that way: x * 1 = 1x, x*2=2x and by your logic 1x would be equal to 2x. What you're trying to tell people is one pencil times one pencil equals two pencils ( pencil pencil). Pencil times two pencils equals three pencils (pencil pencil pencil). Its funny how we try to create new math.
