Buena entrevista, muy buen trabajo de foto, por momentos pensé que era Lubezki, pero una versión más moderna.

I did a hearing impaired subtitling and from the start it was clear that the task was describing a painting to ....a blind person. However, I did my best using words for the OST, the other scores (Haendel, Bach, Dvorak, you name it!). How can you tell if a sound belongs to Aaron Guilhuis' "Inside the Walls" or it is a real sound effect of a huge prison? How can you fully explain the feelings of anguish, threat, loneliness, stifling emptiness of an enclosed space; or the degree of consciousness of the protagonist; .... ....conveyed by Arsenije Jovanovic's "Concerto Grosso Balkanico"? So, it was just an overwhelming and almost hopeless task adding comments on musical tempo, kind of chorus, instruments prevailing and mood conveyed.... However, the visual effects help people with a severe hearing deficit to imagine a kind of expected sound; a sort of intuition. There, you link with words, image and sound, like a kind of synesthesia: relating sensations from different stimuli into something that makes sense Also the footage by Leni Riefenstahl and the quotes present all over the movie help to assemble the whole work in a giant structure of bones, flesh, muscle; and a network of neurons making sense of the parts: an organic structure. In short: the movie draws your attention through every detail and then just overwhelms your senses.

probably he just got bored, 3 consecutive films of Terry after Tree of Life didnt work well and most people including who loves Terry films lost interest. Its my guess Chivo might have wanted to try something else and he did find that in collaboration of Inarritu with Birdman and The Revenant not to mention he received oscar for that.
