Great video. I live in the area and have only ridden rampage, anchors and king brown alley - this is just the inspiration I needed to explore some more.

I rode this today after getting inspired by the video. However after re-watching it I realised I missed Dutch rudder. guess something to get excited about next time.

I always find Bunnings pretty spicy as I usually ride it first. Great trail, one of my favourites in the area. You gotta do that drop at the end! Icing on the cake.

I did the bahai temple upper which Haas a big drop at the end of it.... then went on to do bahai lower which was steep AF. Nor sure if you've done it but there's 2 boulders with a small gap apparently your suppose to jump off either boulder.. way too spicy for this little chicken🤔

Black Hawk I’ve only ridden Bahai area once. I remember a drop that has kind of a blind lip. Will have to get back there. There was a flow trail that was super fun.

Some of those Narra trails can be pretty intimidating with all the rocks. If you walk them before you ride you can spot the lines. Thanks for watching!

You enter off a fire road (start of the video) that's on Forest Way near Mona Vale Road, first trail is Bunnings.

Did you ride clipped in or on flat pedals? What is safer in your opinion for these kind of trails? I am not used to this much rocks so i really have to adjust my riding skills. And my confidence levels. I got scared the first time i went down Ye Mum
@saintberry
@saintberry 4 года назад
Ya Mum is a pretty technical trail so don't be discouraged. I walked a fair bit of it the first time I rode down it. As for pedals I switched to clipped around 8 months ago after riding flats my entire life. I think you can make both pedals work. If riding flats concentrate on keeping your heels down so you don't get bounced off the pedals. Personally I think clips are easier for the descents at Garigal because they are so rocky, you don't get bounced around as much. However I find clips harder for the climb (it's usually easier!) because the climbs are so janky and rocky if you have to dab it can be a little tricky. I was riding clips yesterday on my trail bike down Blackout and both feet ejected from the pedals because they were not tight enough. I was very lucky not to crash!
@doraexplora9046
@doraexplora9046 3 года назад
Best pedals are competition pedals with adjustable spikes with the right MB shoes. If you are clipped in and you have a stack it's harder to put your foot down in an hurry.

How did you connect Blackalicious and Bennies? When you end Blackalicious do you head back up "Vovos" to the top of Bennies? Thanks.
@saintberry
@saintberry 3 года назад
You hit the top of Mount Narra from the opposite direction. There is a fireroad that takes you up there past Bull Ant. I like to do Powerlines and then Dutch Rudder on the way over but you don't have to.

Why do the media always mention Terrey hills in weather reports??? Can anybody explain to me ???
@saintberry
@saintberry 3 года назад
Haha. Good question. There is a weather radar up at Terrey Hills... I'd say that's why.
@someguy2972
@someguy2972 2 года назад
They don't want the beaches being a hidden gem anymore, look @ what they want to do with new town centre @ Frenchs Forest. So what ya do is put in a weather station and give it a good 6-8 years and people from elsewhere think . o 0 ( where the hell is Terrey Hills? Should I move there?), and then whooshka, new Meriton 70 storey apartment complex.

@@saintberry Hey mate, great videos and editing, awesome quality. On the topic of the bikes, how do you find the long travel enduros on these plus cascades kinds of trails? I've heard the longer travel bikes like slash/commencal meta AM can deaden the trails a bit and make them less 'fun' compared to something less hardcore like the remedy/meta TR, but these trails look pretty rocky with a few big drops where I imagine the longer travel bikes would be more comfortable. What kind of bike would you recommend for these kinds of trails? Cheers.
@saintberry
@saintberry 4 года назад
@@jamesobrien-brown2794 Thanks mate! Garrigal National park has some very technical trails with big features. If you only have one bike I'd definitely recommend an enduro style bike for the area. Something like a 160/150 travel would be ideal. I don't think they deaden the trails... maybe if you don't push. That said I've enjoyed riding my Optic up there (140/125) but I only think I enjoyed it because I knew the trails by the time I got that bike. I think these super enduro 29ers with 170/170 travel could be overkill, but more because they would be pigs on the climbs.

@saintberry
@saintberry 4 года назад
A marbs start with two cars at deep creek. Leave one there and drive up to Terrey Hills (BMX track or Bunnings) and park the other car there. Ride across to deep creek (if you’re keen for a biiig day you can do ground control to major tom and blackout as well). Collect the car and drive up to the other car at Terrey Hills. That’s a good way to do it.
