Yah you trippin, I worked in a coffee shop and it's extremely common for people to just order black coffee with nothing added because they just like the taste. However it was very uncommon for people to do the same with matcha 😂 we would always have college kids ordering it with lots of cream, sugar, etc. because they didn't actually like the earthy taste so they'd turn it into a dessert drink basically
Personally I like matcha lattes but it by itself it's basically just green tea leaves made into a powder. I grew up drinking Asian herbal teas so it's definitely a acquired taste.

I used to HATE Matcha with a passion then randomly years later I had a dream about it then bought me a Matcha Latte then loved it. I don't like it with sugar but definitely cream/milk.
