yeah but other than making its own thing is complicated to put it into the oscars or other normal movie or games awards. because even with a good mocap the CG artist are the ones still doing the animations with it as a reference only and is not present in the game or movie itself. this is also why you have games like mass effect Andromeda that is hideous animations despite being a AAA game with mocap. is a job that doesn't get a lot of recognition from the public.
@@Roamstrong We've had motion capture in one way or another since the late 80s with Prince of Persia and hand drawing animation frames over video footage of someone moving. So it's more so that she moves like people expect the exaggerated video game motions that convey context, emotion and personality than the handful of characters she represents move like her. Still, that's some great work on her part, heavily influenced by stuff from when she was too young to do this.
From what I read about a month ago, she was the motion capture for Zoe from League of Legends? Not sure if that’s true though, as I did not fact check it, but she does do the motions exactly, so she probably is, unless she’s just really good at imitating the motions after the fact.
@@NoobieSnake I don't think she did motion capture for Zoe. Riot Games rarely uses motion capture for character animations for the main game. The running animation for Zoe is a popular running animation for short/child characters in anime/anime style games. She's most likely recreating Klee's running animation from Genshin since the same actress did a video doing Genshin animations.
Isn't the point of the video that she's copying animations? I don't understand the text at the top left but I thought it would've been the source for inspiration for each
@@Sac-chan a few of them are either used in league or directly from league. I saw her do Zoes running animation and the same kind of sneaking that Akshan does.

If I may, I believe egg waffle (which could also be correct still) may instead be a reference to the Aberration titans in Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin
People don't understand. The video games characters are designed after her. Not the other way around. She isn't copying video game characters. Games creators hire her to design the characters' movement.
This helps me to choose my own walking animation irl. Even as a male, i'd choose the one where she brings her cat, like everytime I have to walk I have to search a cat/animal to bring it so the walk animation could happen if not I would just glide through the map t posing, irl.
the treadmill is an insanely smart way of guaranteeing a steady speed of walk throughout the animation, its actually perfect for us game programmers x)
"We need something to allow walking while not moving forward" "How about this treadmill" "That works" Zoomers: OMG THAT'S LIKE LITERALLY INSANELY SMART BRO BRO FRFR ONG CUH
That takes serious practice. The thing with expressing yourself like this is you need to exaggerate your movements you normally would do, but it's not as simple as it sounds cause if you go too far it becomes comical. It's all about finding the sweet spot to do this stuff and that is where the practice really comes in so that it could be done in a consistent manner.
@@infiniteraide1642 No, you possibly having any amount of self reflection won't cause more brain rot. I don't know why it's "always" brain rot, that sounds like a personal issue.
Its so interesting to realize the video game assets are based on real motion capture artists, we never think of that stuff when you are playing these highly polished AAA games.
This is absurd, the body awareness is insane, the connection mind-body is one of the best I've seen, to do what she does with such perfection in this vídeo, you need to understand every fiber of every muscle on your body, every ligament, every tendon, and then the hardest part is to coordinate all of it in such a perfect and awe inspiring way.
Jesus christ bro, it's not that deep. I've seen average mime's do just as good. Do you even go outside to explore the wonders of the world? Or have you not experienced anything and are overly impressed with above average performance?
the body control is really something else, every movement seems 100% controlled. if anybody is interested in starting to build these things, a good point to start is "movement by david" on youtube and build from there, worked wonders for me.
@@gannielukks1811 If you mean the random NPCs then that's different, it'd just be huge amounts of redundant work for things you'll never see, which is bad if you actually want the game to get finished, but stuff like Various Daylife (and some Final Fantasy games iirc) have this for all the playable characters.
Her isolations are so good. Like, most of these actions are super uncanny if you do them slightly incorrectly, but she's like a pop and locker with her ability to move only specific body part, while doing a perfect walk cycle.
That is a VERY good motion capture actor. Not just for being able to capture all of those distinct personalities, but also for never even once stepping outside the treadmill.
Goddamn! To be able to change your whole character just like that. Can't imagine the work you had to put in to make it seem so effortless. Never thought I would want to spend a minute watching someone walk but that one minute showed so much versatility that I sit here in awe. That cartoon tough guy walk had me laughing so hard. Thank you.
