@@a1tpseud0nym30 dont know german but maybe because he has spent most of his life in germany? But that doesn't explain why he sounds like he is from Hesse
@@KuRgY-fm7ww We have a lot of dialects. My friends from Nordrhein-Westfalen for example can't understand the Swabian dialect. I can because I live in the area where it is spoken (Baden-Württemberg) for my entire live even when I hear it rather rarely. My mother said that subtitels popped up on the TV channel SWR while someone who was interviewed spoke Swabian. (We all learn in school one version of German called Hochdeutsch btw)
17:20 Not going to lie, at this moment I was like "They're probably going to kill me and I'll have to start part the mission over...but I HAVE to, man!" *stomp*
I thought he was in the Whermacht but taking a closer look i did see SS on his helmet, I'm not counting the swastika because it is alternate history and its on every german soldier in Wolfinstein.
I have actaully played that scene over and over again to try and see if I could kill Hitler and then survive the ongoing fire from the security guards. I actually managed to kill a few of them and survive a few more seconds against the giant robot before getting killed
It's a great metaphor for killing hitler in the real world. Not only was it far too difficult, it wouldn't solve any of the problems he'd caused, or bring back anyone he'd killed. The Nazi state needed to be dismantled first, or else killing Hitler alone was just a moral victory.
@@vornamenachname594 Not OP, but: Disco Elysium, Death Stranding (If you care about world lore, they nailed that part), Morrowind, NieR: Automata, Fallout: New Vegas, ULTRAKILL, Entropy: Zero 2, Hypnospace: Outlaw, The Metro series, Batman Arkham series, Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic 1/2 etc... Wolfenstein: The New Colossus ain't bad writing, but it ain't amazing either. It's serviceable with a few golden nuggets here and there. The New Order and The Old Blood are more solid.
This is actually how Hitler probably would have been had he lived that long. Even in 1945, he was showing signs of Parkinson's, and was so full of drugs that his insides were a wreck. So him vomiting involuntarily and not being able to control when or where he pees is pretty believable.
@@KoalaTContent I've heard that some of his doctors were intentionally messing with his medication to impair his judgement, but idk if this is true or not.
His health was heavily affected by Operation Valkyrie if my memory serves me right. If Germany had won the war like in the game then it would have probably never taken place. But certainly in his last few months of life, Hitler’s health had dropped off massively.
Man 17:26 - 17:33 was wild. Kicking Hitler in the face, A giant mechanized Nazi setting fire to the whole place, and a German Lady standing their content with the fact she is burning alive.
That part with his mother genuinely made me sad. His father beat him senselessly to the point where his brother ran away, tired of the beatings. It’s hard to feel bad for him but one questions that if life hadn’t been so cruel for him maybe millions wouldn’t have died.
@@theducking8827 She was? How interesting. The doctor commented upon her death, “I had never seen someone so stricken with grief than young Hitler. He stayed by her bedside for hours.” Or something like that
@@ribbitminecraft Interestingly enough the doctor who treated his mother was also a jew, called him a "noble jew" and commented if every jew were like him his genocide wouldn't be a thing.
Because you don't have a choice in the game. Honestly it'd be nice if they'd let you game break so you could murder Hitler and play the game differently.
This scene is so unexpected, terrifying and hilarious altogether. The game dosen't bore you with long cut scenes when you want to play. It's like watching an entertaining short film when you need a break from killing nazis
Man, I think this little episode is actually art, and comedy gold. Throughout the whole scene, there are so many both grand story aspects, as well as fine details and intricacies, woven so naturally and organically that one does not even notice them. It's a perfect blend of comedy, absurdity, and even some reality had the nazis won. The directors really deserve an award, you can see how much passion and love was put into this
The two things I always remember from this scene. That picture of BJ on the bicycle is hilarious, and the green shirt guy was actually pretty good at imitating BJ.
Probably because it one of the most high-profile action games manlyman voice actors of the last 20 years or so. You find him in most decent shooters. Loved him in Bulletstorm.
6:04 i like how he was nervous and kept doubting himself and didn’t like the way he was saying his lines but when it came his turn to say the lines to the director he nailed it.
I mean, the Nazi party valorized death, didn't they? And the soldier was a disposable cog for the Aryan war machine. It was the average soldier's *job* to die for the glory of Germany. What's one grunt?
I think I spent a solid 4 minutes between each dialogue choice just trying to straighten up from all the laughter. Truly some of the most legendary lines a cold-blooded killer could ever use.
Reminds me of his body language during the Berlin Olympics before WWII. The man was rocking like he was standing in an earthquake as he watched his “perfect” athletes perform
@@ginch8300 due to the fact the world is under nazi occupation in this games timeline it's not exactly like that soldier had a choice. The game makes it harder to see people having choice when all the rebels either die or can survive machine fire and chainsaws eviscerating them . Either you're a nazi, dead or have comedically overthetop plotarmor.
@@nameless-pm5gw At the end of the day, it's not who you are that has the greatest effect on a global scale, it's what you represent. I couldn't care less whether a Nazi soldier was forced into the Military or not, it still doesn't change the fact about what the soldier is fighting for, and the damage that is being caused regardless of the intent. We all have choices in this world, no matter what anybody tells you.
In the game there's an easter egg where you can stomp on Hitler's face. It pops up when he's lying on the floor, as you walk into that glass room to fight the soldier
You gotta give it to adolf, the dude even tho old and crazy, didn't miss. One. Fucking. Shot. Even got the heartshot to the last guy without even looking at him lmfao
I fucking love how this falls perfectly in line with the (Looks at smudged writing on hand) meme. Also, let's be real, killing Hitler at this point would be a mercy.
The audition sequence was amazing. The people behind the writing for this was amazing, the actors, all of it! It was clearly contributed by people who knew what they were doing and did a damn fine job.
it was incredibly cringe, grotesque nonsense written by obvious reddit leftists to appeal to their infantile interpretation of nazis as cartoon villains.
@@ilyarepin7750 So what, you think they were "misunderstood" or "not that bad?" C'mon, just show your true colors already. Don't be a coward like all the other closet bigots.
It's tradition to the Wolfenstein series to represent nazis in a cartoonish way. ¿You expected them to show them realistically? ¿Really, nazis in the moon with super-futuristic weapons?
This was such an impactful moment in the game that it showed me that we as humans are truly insane that we can just make these types of images and situations of such mental overwhelming happenings in mere seconds.
Makes me think about how people get scared when an animal like a gorilla goes crazy. Makes you wonder how other species react when we go off the handle
@@thelaughindustry773 I guess if one person at 80 is running like an athlete surely everyone who’s 80 years old should also be running like athletes right?
@@ekonomija8718 nice propaganda there buddy. Hell while we're at it Hitler used to crap his pants every hour on the hour. Ate babies and ran a pedophile ring on a private island...
@the golden doomslayer dipshit, if you'd played the game (I don't blame you for not doing so, the story is a pile of shit) you'd know BJ starts in a wheelchair.
I prefer the interpretation that even after watching Arizona get shot, the broken nose actor get shot, and the soldier get brutalized, the last actor expects to walk out alive
I love how they want to make the Nazis seem so cold hearted that they won’t even arrest you if you literally empty a magazine of an AR into one of their soldiers for a movie audition.
You also killed a guy who carried and was unpacking your bags, and he was also a fan of the Mr. Redfield(BJ) and planned to get an autograph written on his to do list, which I find very humanizing.
Really cool little detail “mummy I’m so cold” is a reference to when, as a four year old child, Hitler fell through some thin ice only to be saved by a priest from drowning. Needless to say, that priest regretted that action.
