"Back in February 2016, I was assaulted by Adam Venit," Crews told ABC News. "I did not know this man. I have never had a conversation with him, ever."
Why exactly? Maybe to overly prideful men, but it's really not that big of a deal to admit you've been groped by another man. It's happened to me before, the only difference is it wasn't by someone with a lot of influence. There were no witnesses so it was pointless threatening legal action so I looked at him straight in the eye and told him if he does it again he's gonna get hurt. He had a nervous look at that point and walked away. I have no problem at all telling anyone that happened to me because it's not like I asked to be groped. People have to understand that you shouldn't be embarrassed by what other people have done to you, it's entirely out of your control.
rovers141 There’s a huge social stigma for men to openly talk about being sexually assaulted. To do so as a person who lives in the public eye, that stigma is even worse. Even if sexual abuse happened when they were defenseless children, it’s still taboo for adult men to openly talk about it. It’s not a coincidence there are far more celebrity women who talk about being sexually abused as children than there are celebrity men who have. Despite these men have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, it’s still considered an affront to their masculinity that’s held against them. Men who were sexually assaulted are more likely to be mocked than have any compassion extended to them. Women face terrible difficulty coming forward regarding sexual assault that happened to them. In this particular setting, that difficulty is greater for men.
Free Pass you’re a fucking idiot if that’s what you took from my statement, & maybe you should take a good hard look at yourself. It doesn’t mean to LITERALLY imagine, it’s just pointing out the fact that he could very well do the same thing to children. Do everyone a favor and sit down & shut up.
he acts like a bitch for money he stood there like a little helpless girl because of money you think that dude would grab Micheal jai white? hell no because he is a real man that doesn't worship money and fame and they know it I have been around this man on set pure sambo that's why he is where he is
SpaceRanger4 he lets his power go over his head he thinks some people could easily accept those types of behaviors because they are desperate for their career but he was wrong with terry
Not EVERYONE deserves respect and love. For example any sexual predator wether they target men, women, or children doesn't matter they all deserve a lifetime of pain and misery. Another example is animal abusers who deserve to feel everything they put those animals through times a million. You can't tell me you think these types of monsters deserve any kind of respect or love.
@@rabidwolf that goes into the point that nobody deserves to be violated. of course, you shouldn't respect those kinds of people when they are not respecting others ( children are included in that), which lends to the point that we should all respect and love each other.
“Life should have no limits but plenty of boundaries.” Terrific quote. More power to you, Mr. Crews. You’re a great role model for a world that desperately needs it.
You make it seem like being a Athlete dosnt make you person. It's an occupation. These are just 2 men talking about a crime. There is nothing "amazing" about it. You're weird bro
@@craycrayinagoodway8228 You have no idea where I am coming from. Maybe you should ask me why I think that instead of resorting to name calling because our opinions differ. Terry Crews is an outstanding individual and has been a professional in every aspect of his life, whether it be athletics or acting. You could probably learn alot from him. He could probably teach you how to spell better?
People laugh at men when they say they where raped, or sexually assaulted, but it actually happens more than you would think, and many men dont report it, due to being shamed by their FELLOW men.
no. a man would get laughed at *if he said he was raped by a woman.* men do not get disrespected when they come forward, it's the *_fear of being disrespected_* that holds them back. ...and, yes, I would laugh if he said a woman raped him. I would need all the details to believe him after I stop laughing: what weapon did she use; she spiked your drink, etc.?
rosamaria devries honestly it all depends what you learned. My mom told me (a girl) and my brothers to never be ashamed of speaking the truth, especially sexual harassment. Still today she always tells us and ask us questions about this topic. It’s a truly heartbreaking situation for anyone, that includes males.
just felicia why would you laugh if a man said a woman raped him. That is 100% not funny at all and stuff like this happens very often. You are the type of people that actually make me throw up in my mouth. The fact that you had the audacity to comment this is disgusting. As a woman I can say that this isn’t funny at all.
I have a question and please don't feel forced to answer if you dont want to. When you turner her in did people believe you or did you get the "you are a man you liked it" line?
Oh, Please. He hasn't gone through anything that a lot of middle school girls haven't experienced by the hands of some hormonal teenage predators, while they walk the halls from one class to the next. It happened to me almost daily from 7-9th grade.
@@arimasmemphis4061 sure, he didn't but it's not right no matter who it happens to and how. He did right in speaking up and not letting it slide just because someone might think it's not as important as any other case. If something is not right it's not right.
@@luisbrito2367 I know it's bad and nobody...man, woman nor child should have to deal with that but the OP sounds as if he had to deal with something that's uncommon and unheard of, when young girls have always had to deal with that sort of thing all the time and without any outrage.
I always loved Terry Crews but now I love him even more. I admire him so much! He is such a genuine person. It takes courage to publicly say something like this happened to you especially when it is done by a very powerful person. We mustn’t be afraid or ashamed for other people’s actions.
To all of the men out there: If someone touches you inappropriately, say something. Sexual assault is a crime, no matter who does it or who is being assaulted. It is not okay!
seriously!! i have a friend and he was assaulted and he said he didn’t tell anyone because it wouldn’t count as sexual assault since it happened by a girl
@notfiveo sorry for my english , 2 days ago a firend of my firend wich i knew him for 3 years , assaulted me , he tell me when can i f*ck u , i was schocked , i frizzed for 10 or 20 sc try to understand if he mean that or no , i tell him and i was raging are u serious x3 time he didn't replyed to me so i was about to punch him , and he tell no no i was kidding then i back up , and say to him see u soon , so i retreat and go home to think about this , more and more i think about it , i see that he mean it , yestreday i go to solve this with him but i my rage take my mind i was about to punch him again but the other friends didn't let me , now i am thinking about to kill him i can't stop thinking about this what should i do ?
Terry will NEVER lose fans. I'll watch even more of his stuff going forward because he is a person to be respected. He has dignity and honor. If you don't have that, what DO you have?
It's almost hard to believe that somebody his size could be sexually assaulted. The other person who assaulted him really took a serious risk, of getting his ass kicked.
Terry Crews, questions to ask......why did you allow the man to assault you and get away with it? Are you afraid of him? He ain't nothing but flesh and blood with an expiration date! Imagine what little Salvatore Lucania, who was half your size, would have done to the guy if he had tried that with him. Was "Lucky Luciano" stronger and bigger than you? Seems Terry should have handled the situation like a man....?
@@JeromeProductions I mean that the mobster, Lucky Luciano, would have whopped his a_ _ and taken his production company from him! Are there actual men left in Hollywood? Exposed him on TV....are you for real???
Terry Crews, I am proud of you and your wife. Had she not been there you may have ruined your career and your honor. You are a strong man with good principles. I am glad that you spoke up for all victims that have been assaulted. Thank you.
@aerodog2 thats a big problem i had with this situation terry always played the big tuff guy in movies but didn't even put his hands on an old dude touching him
@@byroncharles6092 you heard him say, he knew if he would have punched his lights out his career would have been over and he would have been in jail! I'm sure Terry Crews hands are considered armed and dangerous! LOL LOL that's why he gave all the credit to his wife for keeping him from striking that man. It takes a bigger man to walk away
Yogi Breeze why? Because he is a man? If that guy grabbed a woman in her genitals it would be considered sexual assault. You don’t have the right to claim he was not sexually assaulted, it wasn’t your body. I take sexual assault very seriously, I do not agree when people claim it for the wrong reasons AT ALL, but this man was touched inappropriately without consent. I’m glad he spoke up, think about it- If this Hollywood executive was so brazen to do this in front of other people, can you imagine what he’s doing behind closed doors?
Yogi Breeze I’m absolutely not deeply in entranced in a certain viewpoint, as a matter of fact I am more the latter, curious if certain claims are actually valid or not. I WAS molested as a child so it frustrates me to no end when people claim they were sexually assaulted when their claims are not warranted or true. That being said If someone came up and punched you in the face, there would be no claims of sexual assault, it would be assault. When your privates are touched, that is when the “sexual “ part typically comes in. The law generally agrees with that as described by the definition of sexual assault (groping, rape, etc.) though at times can be considered assault, that will be the courts decision.. Either way, we are all entitled to our views, nor do I expect to change yours. I’m glad this guy stood up, as I mentioned before- anyone who could do this in front of others, I can only imagine what he is capable of doing behind closed doors.
Dear Terry, I'm so sorry about all the ways you've been assaulted😞 By the predator who abused you and the people who made fun of your pain. I'm ashamed of the people who laughed, not only at you but when this has happened to women and children also.😞 You are a survivor and very courageous. Thank you for standing up for yourself. Im very proud of you and your wife. Stay well and stay safe💗
@@worldisfilledb you're a bitch for not recognizing he made it the appropriate size deal for sexual assault. Every person who assaults should be called out in public as a warning to everyone else.
Terry Crews is a great person. Watching him on what ever he is own, it’s obvious he is a man of high morals. I would not have ever believed anything negative about him. I proud of him for standing up. He could have really hurt that person but respect for his wife and himself and his family stopped him. Terry Cruz is a mans man
Yes! It’s horrible that so many men and even boys are getting physically and mentally hurt and nobody wants to talk about it because it might “hurt their masculinity”
The amount of evil in Hollywood. It's not even secret anymore, it's in front of everybody's face and still nobody does anything. Terry Crews, you are inspiring. Honestly man, thank you.
It’s unfortunate that this happened to Terry. I’m just glad his wife was there to stop him from beaten his ass. Everyone is not by-sexual but in Hollywood this is what they do. Then turn around and try to make you look like a fool. I’m glad Terry stood his ground.
This guy has balls!!! Damn I’m just impressed and so proud of him for having the courage to do this. If the agent did this in public, imagine what he’s done in private to many.
“Adam strangled, punched, kicked, drugged and sexually assaulted her, leaving her bloodied, bruised and scarred on too many occasions to count.”, his wife was the victim.
Don't ever be afraid to speak up keep talkin and one day someone will listen I am too a victim of sexual abuse the only thing I have done yes I've never forgotten it but I've used it to teach people that it's okay to be scared but when it's the truth it has to be told
If he felt confident enough to assault a man of terry crews' size imagine what he's done to people less able to defend themselves. Terry is a brave man.
@@manapaws5507 he felt confident enough to do that because of his place in life compared to Terry's at the time. If there's a better word please tell me but I just think you're not fully understanding what I meant. I'm sticking with confident
Sorry that happened 2 you. All of that bad behavior is always about power. We all need to be held accountable no one deserves to be in that position. I am so happy you shared your story
Terry I’m so sorry this happened to you. It should never happen to anyone. EVER!! As a survivor of molestion I certainly stand with you. I will be cheering you on. God Bless you and your wife. 🙏🏼❤️🌻🙏🏼
I could write a book about how many times I've been "sexually assaulted". Sexual assault against men is a joke. Quit crying about it. Unless of course you were powerless. Or a child. Hence why I said men.
Christian Warrior tv exactly there’s definitely a double standard to when it comes to sexual assault. I seen a video on Facebook where a dude was forcefully taken by a woman on a subway and everybody on the subway just sat down like nothing was going on and seeing the comments of people laughing at what happened. They even called him soft and that he deserved it. I was immediately disgusted
UzeHerName Its cuz they like to virtue signal to the masses and look down on us, the little followers, that spend their money on them and make them rich and powerful. But they have no morals, anything goes because they are 'liberals' and having morals is being uptight and 'cute'. Apparently the morals in their movies is part of the fantasy.
Yes, absolutely. People wielding influence have also realized how far they get by stating PC-appropriate values whether or not they actually live them. It's a very cynical attitude, and it is unfortunately present all over the map in society today. There seems to be a constant split in what gets voiced and what is done through action. In my own life I run into people all the time who voice Bernie social justice but who use the call for social justice to forward blatant injustice, and relish inflicting it. Alternately, libertarians will cry for a return to constitutional values while acting in complete disregard for others' civil rights. "You have to have honor." Also well said.
It happens to "big" men as well. I'm 6'6 220+ pounds and I've had other men try to make advances to me by groping etc. I almost went to jail for defending myself from a guy trying to grope me at my old job. No one believed me until they saw the footage a year later
This big ass man allowed someone to assault him and you have respect for that? He is humiliated and thought the money and fame would take away from that.
My respect for him plummeted, he's a weak, effeminate man, he allowed a man to touch his genitals IN FRONT OF HIS WIFE and again, you allowed that man to molest you.....IN FRONT OF HIS WIFE!!! I would've beat that man to a pulp!!! But he let that man do it because he knows how Hollywood works, and he wants to be a part of that so why complain now? And Adam Sandler wouldn't even back your story up!!! He's weak, he's soft, and he needs to sit down somewhere. Now he wants to threaten and be tough on DL Hughley because of what he said about him, smh, you can threaten to slap a fellow black man who didn't grab your genitals but you didn't threaten to slap the white pervert who completely disrespected you in front of your wife.....he's a sucka for life!
It is absolutely absurd how someone in a prestigious position thinks they can get away with practically anything. I've always loved Terry Crews, but now I admire and respect him and love him even more for speaking up for himself.
Exactly my thoughts!! They always get away with it bc of their prestige, control, and money which all lead to power. People also are afraid to come against them bc they value their career more than their dignity and human rights and also bc it's so uncomfortable and shocking that most don't have the bravery or awareness to push back. Don't forget how many decades Harvey Weinstein literally raped and assaulted women until he was finally charged and prosecuted because too many women were afraid to expose him for fear of humiliation of not being believed and fear of losing their career. It took someone from another country who was unaware of the stigma of pointing the finger at a Hollywood elitist to finally take him down.. I'm still amazed by the fact he even made it to jail. I'm really proud of TCrews and I agree that him outing this guy makes me like and respect him even more! Battle them at the root ✊
I'm gay. And it's so annoying watching the gay community... especially the men, jump on this fake "victimhood" bandwagon. Gay men are more racist, homophobic, tranaphobic. Go on any f*ck app and you'll see the true side of what gay men think and treat each other. Black men are only good for their dicks... don't even be Asian or overweight. I honestly and truly feel just fine and safe in the suburbs being a normal gay dude in straight society. That heard mentality just creates men that grab dicks
I encountered a woman that was doing this to men and women on a dance floor in a major city. I was across the room and watched as she put her hands all over strangers’ junk and they would turn around in disgust but then just move away and do nothing. I reported the woman to security and they acted so annoyed (with me). Even the friends I was with were laughing it off saying stuff like, “eh, it’s a dance floor. It happens”. Um what? It takes 5 minutes to kick someone out and prevent them from ever doing it again! What tf is wrong with people!
This man doesn’t get half the credit and accolades he deserves. This man is a MEGA talent on so many levels. Truly one of kind. I really love Terry. What happened to him is horrible. Not only because this caused him so much stress and anguish but this could have effected his livelihood and harmed his professional reputation and no one deserves that added to an already deeply disturbing situation. I can only imagine how much this messed with his mind. He did the right thing.
He didn't do anything. The other crazy guy did. Y'all are overreacting. He should have slammed the jerk but didn't he blew it. HE WAS GROPED NOT RAPED GET OVER IT.
I have never felt more inspired and respect for Terry crews, he took what would be considered a huge risk to his career and he still did it because his honour meant more than fame. I admire that xxx
This gives me courage to possibly seek justice from my abuser. I can’t even show up to Thanksgiving or other family gatherings because he’s started showing up to them and it makes me so uncomfortable having him smile in my face and trying to chat like it didn’t happen. He has a wife and kids now and it would create so many problems. Idk what to do honestly I might have to take it to the grave /:
@LS AE i get what you are saying as a woman I feel like it is harder for a man as they're supposed to be "tough" and "suck it up" I also know it is extremely hard for a woman to tell her story a crime is still a crime and the lasting affects are the same but not to be rude but nobody thinks of a victim as a slut if so they should go to jail with the criminal
Everytime these kind of stories in Hollywood comes up, the name of the 2 Corey's always comes up to my mind. I'm pretty sure there are BIG name successful actors had experienced this but would rather prefer to keep their mouth shut.
You are not alone Mr. Crews, many victims go silent which gives more power to the attacker. I admire and respect you more for talking about this openly. We need more people to share their attacks to empower the silent ones to come out and GET HELP. Love you 🫶🏽
Terry's right that was just bizarre the self restraint involved when you are so physically strong to respond with words, rational and pursing consequences my hat off to you sir.
No one should grab anyone's genitals or private areas without consent. Whether its a man or woman. We all should be able to go through life without having to deal with or put up with this kind of behavior. Thank you for bringing more awareness to this!
People dont realize how hard that is to do. When your brain goes to fight or flight mode, its VERY difficult to think clearly and rationally. It takes a strong willed individual to do that, let alone going public with it.
M Ma.. na u stfu. Terry is a simp bought into white hollywood with gay acting parts and old spice stereotypes. He used that “white card” and got dealt with as a n ___a.. the guy commenting before is completely right
He mentions that he felt emasculated. And I totally understand where he’s coming from, because these predators are about showing you how powerless they believe you are and how powerful THEY are. So is not only about being pervs and touching people is about control.
Terry Crews is a gentle giant that could, in a moment, knock perverts out. the fact that he restrained himself and came out against this agent, takes more strength than beating him. There need to be more people like Terry who take a stand without violence.
It's been said that this kind of acts are common in Hollywood mostly with child actors but people are to ashamed to talk about it. Especially men. Shame on you Hollywood
Terry & his wife are ok with homosexual stuff for a job..... A real man would have fought him for grabbing their penis... A loving wife wouldn't have stood for that. His wife would probably let a woman touch her vagina for money. DISGUSTING!!!
This could never hurt Terrys career , why ? because the fans , the public love him and see him for the kind , decent and talented human being that he is .
Unfortunately the fans and the public aren’t the ones who decide roles or his career. If Hollywood wants to blacklist someone, they will. Predators protect their own.
Not just Hollywood. Women and girls experience sexual harassment and assault everywhere. In their families from relatives, in the workplace, in public transport, just simply walking down a city street.
I was a big fan of the entertainment industry i probably always will but it's different now i have never heard of this crazy stuff like this before that's probably why everything is so mess up now in Hollywood now with movies and TV shows now it's about the money now they probably will do anything now.
Hats off to him for coming out and speaking out against this. It's been going on way too long esp with the children and its sickening. Nice to see an adult in the industry stand up, speak out, and say "You can not do this to us." Keep pushing Mr. Crews maybe that change we have all been waiting for in this industry will finally come
As it relates to improving accountability and justice for acts of harrasment and abuse: Nothing is more powerful than a man of Terry's stature, success and influence. I'm sorry for your experience, Terry. We see you and we honor you.
Is it weak to have self control, to not beat that abusers face in the ground? (Where it belongs) which would have worse consequences and no true justice man.
Sam Ganta Terry Crews did a greater service to himself, his family and to other victims by having self control. Instead, he got peoples ears with the TRUTH, which probably wouldnt have ever come out (or been believed) if hed just pounded the guy into sand , which he could have done with ease.
Lara O'neal Yes, definitely admired. It took a great deal of courage and guts for a man such as Mr. Crews to come forth with Sexual Harassment allegations against a very powerful man. Thank you, Mr. Crews.
I'm glad he went as far as he did if not for him he would still be doing this kind of crap. My hats off to you and hopebyou find some peace thru this traumatic expirence. Much luv from Canada .and from one survivor to another.
Seeing the real Terry Crews and not his macho man persona is just incredible. He's a very profound, honourable, brave, mature person and it's really nice to see him be so open about his assualt. Mad respect. Love the guy ❤
i was being sarcastic that someone actually said most men are sick and will sexually assault a person but women also commit sexual assault and they cannot rape a male so even if they tie you up and use a strap on it isnt rape. This is why rape statistics are massively skewed statistic in females being the victim whereas sexual assault, still skewed towards male abusers, is a closer statistic
For the many guys who don't believe in sexual assault, they need to see this. Most always dismiss women's claims and say they should just be flattered. It is not till you see this happening to you that you understand what women go through frequently. I always thought it would be flattering if a girl approached me "sexually" cause I (and most men) find the majority of women beautiful, but one day an overweight woman came up to be and grabbed my ass and I almost punched her. Now I understand what women go through and most women don't find the majority of men attractive and also, men and women should also know that guys can have this happen to them. I could only imagine the outrage I would experience if a GUY did this to me. Especially in front of my wife!
