I use the simplified input for power geyser because that's how I use to do it when I play kof 2000 and the normal qcf qcf for buster wolf. The inputs are very forgiving for smash tho. It's very different
I just watched the whole vid with my screen glitched so it was all black then rewatched it and realised that the whole vid was indeed not just a black screen
Luke Hillenbrand Most definitely I probably won’t be great with him off the back since this would be my first Smash Bros. but Marvel vs Capcom 3 taught me a thing or a two(referring to his move set)
this man will break his fingers if Geese Horward or Clark Still gets into Smash. He's lucky that terry of all fighters was chosen if he's having trouble with a Busterwolf input
The best way to learn terry is to first make yourself comfortable with his input specials. Only those cancel other moves and you can do the input with the special button too. Try doing the same input over and over until the motion clicks with you, you'll be ready when you can feel when the input was done correctly instinctively (took me about 10 minutes in training) Second try some basic combos. Up tilt + up b, jab to foward b/back b/down b, up tilt + back b (does 30 damage at any percentage). Holding the a button while you jab is a great way to focus your mind on doing the input while terry attacks to finish with a special Then move on to power geyser and buster wolf, they are a bit hard to learn but they become easy once your brain translates them (buster wolf is just two quarter circles and power geyser is just quarter circle back foward so be patient so you don't end up doing crack shoot). Up tilt power geyser will always hit because up tilt has the same knockback at any percentage. F tilt, buster wolf also works well.
@@jdatboi724 i don't think it's really a fighting game in the traditional sense like street fighter/ mortal kombat/ tekken etc. i see smash as its own class of fighting game but the term "fighting game" is associated with classic arcade fighting games. the mechanics and fundamentals of smash are very different to other fighting games too, and since smash is so different i think it's fair to say it's not a "fighting game", not out of disrespect but out of technicality.
Just a quick info, Macro. His Down Air isn't the only move that spikes. From what I see in some footage, Terry's Power Dunk can also spike. Problem is, you need to use the input version.
One of the best recovery tips from Riddles is crackshooting down low and while you are in the crackshoot animation, you are allowed to charge rising tackle, allowing for an incredibly safe and the highest recovery possible for Terry immediately after crackshoot. The animation also prevents you from just fast falling from holding down.
People need to understand: the bit about smash being for good boys and girls was a sort of mistranslation, Sakurai was actually talking about the CERO, basically the censorship control in Japan, and how Mai could not make it through. He did joke about it like in the translation, but it was not exact
I personally was SUPER hyped for Terry because I have quite a bit of fighting game experience outside of Smash and my first fighting game I really got into was a game with Terry(KOF XIII) so not only is his inclusion to Smash a dream come true for me, but I personally don't find him as hard to play as other Smash players do
He trained for a decade to confront Geese Howard when he could've just gone to Kanto (which I'm given to believe is in Japan, but VENGEANCE doesn't worry about passports), asked Prof. Oak for a Bulbasaur, and whipped Geese in a Pokemon battle in less than a week.
I suck at this game but it soon as I got Terry I started popping off more than I could have beforehand.I mean my brother may not be a veteran at the game but he's a hell of a lot better than me killing himself three times and facing me with one stock so I can have a chance. Now with this character I'm able to face him toe-to-toe. I'm a fighter at heart for other games and Terry is one of my favorite 2D characters that has nothing to do with my favorite franchise of Tekken.
I never played a fighting game apart from smash really and even with a drifting controller it's not to hard to input. I recommend everyone to go into training and checking the moveset. It is explained with all details and you can pratcice there. Thing is... it looks easy there but when you actually play you gotta do it fast because the enemy is pressuring you and you wont have tons of time for the inputs. Hope this kinda helped.
As King of fighters player since childhood, Terry for me is the easiest character to play. It feels like playing the SNK fighting games when I choose Terry
I think Terry is a relatively easy character to play. I used to play fighting games that required multiple inputs for a single move so his buster wolf is pretty easy to get down. Terry is a great addition to smash and has brought some new ideas to the table for moves. Sure Ken and Ryu have their own set of multi input moves but I feel Terry puts a nice spin on it
If terry had a better recovery he would be very very powerful, which is why he doesn’t have one. Sakurai noticed that he would be op with let’s say k rools recovery so he made it better as a fighting tool than recovery at this point. The first day I got Terry I didn’t play a match I learnt all the directional inputs, both “GO!” inputs and B inputs. It’s crucial when playing Terry. Personally, I main and love him. 10/10 best dlc so far
I joined the disscord just a few weeks ago ( a bonus about disscord is I don't have to check youtube for new videos I get a notification in disscord saying a new video is up)
non popular characters huh what about adding The Batter, Zacharie or The Judge from the 2008 RPG "OFF", created by the french indie dev MortisGhost? Almost nobody knows about this game, yet it's really good
My friends were shocked when I picked up terry so fast they were like how do you know this character so well I then brought out my king of fighters 14 disc for my ps4 like dude I play more than just smash
This guy is cool, but where is my knight from hollow knight? Where is my empty boi at? And I don't mean as a mii costume. #hollowknightfrorsmash Void gang rise up!
Terry is easy if you treat him like a smash character and ignore the input attacks and super moves, but he's hard if you want to really get good at him (which requires the dreaded input attacks)
he never stated that, it was inserted by the translator. it was actually the cero rating. the game has always been cero A and they didnt want to bump it to a new rating. also, mai is difficult to censor without changing her character. bayo is easy to censor without changing her character because she can just not strip nude.
