Did you unplug 12v battery in your frunk?

@@BurtBurnston I didn't disconnect my 12 volt battery I just went into the screen and turned power off. I was thinking the same thing that I could set off the airbag all hell would break loose. It's just a molex plug that pops out It's really simple you think It sounds real complicated other than those tabs that I had trouble with It really was easy. And now they're shipping all the tools you need to take it off and reinstall. But I did torque mine with a torque wrench to 55 / 58 foot lbs. Per his video. But I believe as long as you get a good and tight you'll be fine. The wrench that comes with it if give it a good hard turn you'll be fine. It's a flathead Allen head bolt. If you're that worried about it you can always get a little loctite and put a shot of that on it but I think it's unnecessary. 🇺🇸👍

Hi there! Yes, you can still use the yoke, you just won’t plug in the heating cable

I ordered one of these from your link and it comes today I'm going to give it a shot. I noticed you just powered down from the screen a lot of other videos go a little bit farther. Does this definitely keep the airbag from deploying? I have a torque wrench do you know what the torque spec is by any chance? I'll let you know how it goes later today. Looks pretty straightforward.. I have my needed tools ready to go. Thx ✌️ Does this void your Tesla warranty?

@@remingtonsypro3160I’m wondering the same thing. I’m too scared to mess with airbag just from turning off the car from the screen

@@BurtBurnston Disconnecting the airbag is no big deal. Do not worry about that part.. You're turning the energy off. They give you all the tools and there are pretty good videos out there for the install. I may have just got a hold of an early made one or the mold may have started to wear out in that area. I could have sent it back and got another one but I was that far into it and I knew how to fix it so I figured I'd just fix it. It wasn't a big deal It was just a matter of taking a handy grinder and removing .032 or 1/64 from the back side where that little finger sits. There's a little pocket in the back for those snap-in fingers on the clips. Yours may be fine. It's really nicely made other than that one issue I had. Just make sure you have the time and patience for doing it. I'm very happy with the yoke. I just installed the tilt on my screen. That doesn't go as quick as a video on it either but that's just the way it is. The other thing I like about the tilt it actually drops the screen down two or three inches which gives you more viewable area out of your windshield. But it's so nice to have the screen to where you can tilt it towards you 20-30° also up or down and have it directly pointed at you instead of looking sideways and getting glare. As for the steering wheel it's great if you have full driving package FSD I have 12.3.6 If you don't have that then you're probably not going to enjoy it as much. It's easier to deal with the nag with this wheel or yolk. Anyway that's my thoughts on it. 🇺🇸✌️ Good luck!!

I purchased one of these wheels I like the yolks don't get me wrong. This yoke has issues with the way it's manufactured. The three holes that the airbag pins goes through for the 3 round pins from the back of the airbag that snap into the yoke holes. They have issues as far as where these factory plastic clips snapping in. The three round clips on the horn assembly that actually are also affiliated with the airbag assembly there are two fingers that snap onto the back side of the yoke housing into little recessed areas. This number is .5mm or .020 off or too thick in this area. I would not recommend this yolk to the average person that wouldn't have the knowledge to make this modifications. I noticed another video for this yoke where the guy actually had issues in this exact same area but didn't know what to do and it looks like from the video he just let those two little fingers not snap in and float. I called Amazon and made them aware. It's hard to make someone understand with no mechanical knowledge. I'm a tool designer by trade and design tooling for machinery to manufacture clips similar to these only metal. They gave me a $30 discount which is nothing compared to the time it took to figure out and do the yoke install because of the modifications needed. I did notice the price is dropping on this wheel probably for this reason and people are probably sending them back. The average person wouldn't realize what the problem really is. I'm not saying I'm any kind of genius but this is something I do for a living and been doing it for a long time troubleshooting things like this. A positive I guess changed as they started making more these is they now supply you with the tools needed to install this wheel which is pretty cool. I have some photos and some dimensions I took to verify this information I have talking about. If you break the edge or modify the back side where those fingers snap into it works fine. But if you don't do these modifications I can see this being a problem later overtime because of the fit issue. I do like the yoke compared to the standard steering wheel. It's very nice once you get it installed and if you have FSD It makes it easier to deal with the nag for sure. Don't get me wrong I love this yoke I'm just saying I wouldn't recommend it to someone that doesn't have some mechanical ability to make this modification. Maybe they all aren't like this I'm thinking either the mold that they molded the center section with either war out some overtime or maybe the mold didn't close all the way on the one I have. My yoke had the number of 315 on the back side. I'm assuming maybe they numbered them as they came off the mold not sure on the number but that's just a thought. Everything else seemed to work fine on this joke this was the main issue I had. Just be prepared for a longer install than what this video is talking about. Now maybe the wheel that's install in the this video, when it was done was an early run yoke and the mold wasn't war in that area yet or the mold clothes together good. Either the mold was warn in this area, or the two halves didn't come together enough and stayed apart the .5mm or .020 molds like this also have retractable inserts that create these features. So maybe something restricted this insert enough to cause this interference problem. I'm not telling people not to buy this yolk I'm just warning you to be prepared for possibly a longer day than the 30 minutes it seemed to take to install this joke. Hope this helps anyone on the fence maybe the answer is if you have an interference problem in this area send it back until you get one that does it need this modification. Not trying to be difficult Hope this helps anyone on the fence about purchasing a yoke! It's really cool and as far as getting the hang of it, it really took me no time at all It was pretty much immediate! ✌️

@@Valentijnzz If you have trouble snapping the 3 plastic clips in for the horn associated with the airbag. They may have fixed it by now or I may have just gotten one that slid through It all worked out. It still works fine I just had to modify the back end or those little fingers snap into place. Overall it's a nice kit It actually gives you tools needed to install which is pretty cool. Even though I had them.

@@Valentijnzz If you have trouble snapping your clips in place. As long as those three clips that have two fingers on them each snap into place you're fine. I had to modify the back side of mine because the area was too thick and the little fingers didn't snap into place. It was off around .030 or 1/32. I measured it with a pair of calipers I do two and I work mechanical design.
