WHAT IS TESLA COIL AND HOW IT WORKS
Tesla coils are discharge coils found by Nikola Tesla around 1891 and used to produce high voltage, low current and high frequency alternating current. In the Tesla coil, we can think of the cable as a hose, the electricity as the water flowing in this hose, the electric current as the flow of water, and the voltage as the pressure of the water. When a nozzle is added to the end of the hose, the flow rate of the water decreases and the pressure increases in an inverse way. This is how the Tesla coil works.
Tesla has experimented with several configurations while building the coil, and this tool usually consists of two or three pairs of resonant electrical circuits joined together. Tesla used these coils for innovative experiments in areas such as electrical lighting, phosphorescence, X-ray generation, high frequency alternating current, electrotherapy and wireless electricity generation. Tesla coils were used in spark-gap radio transmitters for wireless telegraphy until the 1920s.
Wardenclyffe Tower (1901-1917), also known as Tesla Tower, was an experimental wireless transmission station designed and built by Nikola Tesla in Shoreham, New York, in 1901-1902. Tesla aimed to transmit messages, telephony and even fax images to the UK via Atlantic and send it to ships at sea based on theories of using the Earth to transmit signals. Guglielmo Marconi's decision to expand the facility and add the ideas of wireless power transmission to better compete with the radio-based telegraph system refused to fund the changes made by the project's main sponsor, J. P. Morgan. No additional investment was found and the project was abandoned in 1906, never going operational.
