You can never trust online reactions, it's just a tiny, vocal minority that's making noise. 95% of viewers don't even comment at all on videos. IRL reactions shows the true opinions.

Some people have such sad lives that the only thing that makes them feel better is trying to diminish other people's happiness or accomplishments.

Traded my Model 3 and my F150 FX4 for a Cyberbeast and I’m absolutely thrilled with the truck. However the number of people who feel the need to express their disgust for it in public spaces is astonishing. Was driving my 8yo daughter around yesterday and two people gave me the finger. There seems to be some assumption that folks who buy the CT are only doing it for attention. I’m not. I only wanted the best EV truck on the market currently, and the CT performs for me better than either the R1T or the Lightning would.

I have to somewhat disagree about towing. I often tow a dual axel 16ft. flatbed trailer. I have a cabin in small town in Arizona about 70 miles from my house in Phoenix and well over 5000ft of climbing. Half of the route is a dirt road. It does this route really well. Sure it uses more energy. I do have to plug in when I get there but still the cost is way less than gas and the ride is amazing especially on the dirt road. My F-350 beats me up on the dirt but in the cybertruck it is almost like the road is paved. I hardley notice the trailer as well. It probably wouldn't be ideal for a longer route but it works great for me.

I seriously doubt that the haters have any experience with a Tesla other than seeing them on the street and reading biased reports online. It is similar to people that say they hate a particular food, having never tried it. It is irrational. I’ve had my Tesla Model X for almost 8 years, have over 98,000 miles on it, and still love it more than any car I’ve ever owned (I’m 68, so a lot of cars). It gives me joy every time I get in it. And, 90% of my friends, both young and old, now drive Teslas too, including some that were quite skeptical early on. I think anyone willing to give a Tesla a fair chance, say by renting one for a few days, will be convinced they are worthy cars, even if they still don’t buy one for whatever reason.

I disagree regarding Towing. CT won’t be good for LONG DISTANCE (200mi+) towing. Most of my towing is 10-30miles and I’m transporting rebar, lumber or a tractor. CT will be great for that.

I've had my Cybertruck for 4 months now. I love it. I get all kinds of people approaching to ask questions and take pictures no matter where I go, shopping centers, charging stations, campgrounds, and residential neighborhoods. The reactions are 99% positive. A few are neutral, only two were negative. Negative comments on the internet are nearly always from anonymous (i.e., cowardly) people. Nice to have met you at Muskegon.

Your channel is one of the best Tesla/car-tech channels because you come at it from a user POV. That's why you are a target for haters. It's too bad, but I guess it comes with your success. I hope you can just skip the hate, and focus on the wide support you have. Thanks for all the effort you and your wife have put in on this.

Yes!!! Why are you watching countless video of something you hate so much? I don't like BMW. Never watched a single video. I also don't go on ICE car videos and brag about not going to a gas station. Not just Cybertruck but Tesla videos in general. I'm so tired of seeing ICE owners comment about how quickly they fill up. Dude!!! EV owners KNOW what they're getting. Some of us don't mind the trade-off for the amazing tech. Not to mention I charge 100% at home. Never needed to supercharge in 4 years. They won't admit it. But something deep is going on if you have to go out of your way to leave hateful comments on something you don't even want. I'm not talking about negative comments about the truck's looks. I'm talking about personal attacks. Makes no sense.

I don't get all the hate. This car is so amazing looking to me! I made a complete 180 about Tesla when I got a model Y. I loved the cybertruck since announcement though and I'm so excited to see it on the road more and more! Even in my red state, I have seen about 4 of them and they really do get a lot of attention! Wish I could test drive one!

I LOVE towing with my cybertruck! The power is UNBELIEVABLE, and whisper quiet! It is especially great for boat launches in extract mode with wade mode on. Granted, the range dropping to 150 miles from 100% really SUCKS, but that is the only downside IMHO. I’m hoping the range extender helps with that giving me at least 75 more miles to 225 total which makes it more practical.

Eh, camp mode on tesla model y saved a lot of money for me. Unfortunately, i can’t do the same in cybertruck. Last winter I camped in Zion at freezing temp, so it’s hard to sleep in the tent on a cybertruck. In MY you just use AC with any temperature you want. Also, I’m not sure I want to mess with heater inside the cybertruck camp or so. Long distance towing is not the case for me. So if not a camping mode, I’d decide to purchase it.

I'm so looking forward to getting mine. I reordered a little late because I wanted some of the bugs to be ironed out. As a 82 year old single woman and I just didn't want to be stranded anywhere.. I got it to maintain my driving independence and plan on paying for it by either renting it out or becoming part of the FSD Robotaxi business. I just refound your channel so I'm hoping to learn a whole lot! Thank you for starting this channel!

The haters hate, they probably don't even watch your videos. There are so many types of trucks: semis, dump trucks, ten wheelers, pickup trucks. Then there is the cybertruck.

Just goes to show that opportunity without accountability is a breading ground for irresponsibility. People will say things through their keyboard to someone they don't know or will never have to look in the eye that they would never even consider saying to their face. It might be one of the biggest downfalls of our society.

Half the cybertruck videos on youtube are just clickbait. Trucks purchased to be used for videos and then sold and then the videos planned for when they announce when they sell them.

Ford had a recall of 222,000 F-150s for wiper problems last year. Not to mention, that 500,000 F-150 have just been recalled for transmission problems.

Personally I love the look of it. I don't get the hate at all. Lots of cars, crossovers, trucks that I don't like the looks of, or are very bland and boring but I don't go on social media to express my hate for it. People are so weird.

Your comments about how the angry negative comments don't make sense are exactly why I think most of the angry negative commenters are a paid / fake attempt to influence through social media. A normal person would not do those things. I hate golf -- I know other people love golf, but I don't care and I don't spend any time watching golf videos and commenting about how golf sucks, etc...

The four minute focus on the haters will only fuel them more. I’ve been “cancelled” three times and the best thing to do is just ignore them. It pisses them off the most.

I went electric because I got fed up with dealing with 10 quarts oil changes every 3000 miles in my Ford Diesel. ALSO, my lawn mower took 15 gallons to fill it up so, hauling that much gas and spilling a bunch to get it in the tanks was just crazy. Had to refill every other time I mowed my 5 acres. Went with a Mean Green 61" zero turn and can mow for 8 hours straight.

This was a necessary video. The online heat for this thing is out of control. The abuse is downright nasty and weird. When I'm out in-person I get nothing but interest and positive comments (especially with my Matrix wrap). Yes, there have been some issues, but that's not a big deal. I don't see people making hate videos out of the F-150 downshift from 6th to 1st at highway speeds recall of 568k vehicles. I think it might be an Elon hate thing, I don't know, but it isn't pleasant. 99% of the assholes on the internet wouldn't DARE be like that in person. They are a bunch of cyber-tough guys. 2:11 I recently got a Tesla model Y about six months ago, and I think the hate comes from people who typically feel like the issue is being forced upon them by government mandates, and also a little bit of jealousy.

I started making RU-vid videos for much the same reason. I had a ton of questions that I couldn't find the answers to sometimes. Then when I got my Nissan LEAF then Model S I received a lot of questions and I wanted to share the details that I couldn't find previously. We've now driven our S up to 140k miles and now we have a Model Y too. I was 37 years old when I bought my first electric car (Nissan LEAF) and I'll never go back to ICE if I can help it. I did have to purchase a gas truck while waiting for the Cybertruck to tow my RV. The RV I purchased because I was planning to have a Cybertruck. And now the Cybertruck doesn't appear to have very much towing range. [Sad Face.] I also get periodic hateful comments on my channel for EVs and I think the same thing...like why are you here watching these videos if you hate EVs so much?

I watched your videos when I was thinking about a Tesla a year ago (April 2023) and was amazed. I bought and have been thrilled with my Model Y. It is the best car I have ever owned! The FSD make trips so easy! One of the greatest things is leaving home with a full charge every day - no worrying about stopping for gas or getting oil changes. It saves a huge amount of money while travelling. It costs 1/10th of the cost travelling on vacations, the only time I have to stop at super chargers. The exact trip in our Acura MDX cost us $178 while the Tesla Y cost $19.33 for a 420 mile trip. Unbelievable. Hate getting into a cold car in winter? No problem with Tesla - you turn on climate control a few minutes early and it will be toasty. In the summer, it will be cooled. Take a test drive or ask a Tesla driver about their car - most of us would love to show you how cool it is. If you are here to complain because you don't like Musk or politics, I don't care. He can believe or say what he wants, like anyone else. Form opinions based on your own experience, not what ideologues say.

Similar people that go to vegan channels and write silly things like "I'll never go vegan hahaha!" or "meat is delicious". If you're not interested in it, why do you even go there and spend time writing a braindead comment? Weird behaviour. There are many things I find stupid and pointless like cosmetics/makeup but I don't go to those types of channels and write that.

I think the hate filled comments are a disturbing sign of the way America is dividing itself into two opposing factions. I would hazard a guess that the majority of these posters are from the US; sane people just don’t care one way or the other about the thing - it’s purely subjective.

Those people that are hating on the Cyber truck, probably just hate elon. Or they just want to rant and be a jerk. There are people out there that just have nothing but negative feelings all the time. Or perhaps they are brand loyalists like the Forbes in the GMS.

Same, I bought a Tesla after driving a million different “gas” cars. There is no going back! I’m now on my second model 3 and absolutely love it! I feel sad whenever I need to get in any other car

I'm a huge Tesla fan. I've had a model 3 and currently have a model Y performance. The CT is not for me. I just think they're hideously ugly. That said, I'm really glad you like yours! I will never understand the people that have to hate on the CT and Tesla in general. You don't like it? Don't get one. It's not that complicated. What I choose to buy doesn't affect other people. Whenever people slam electric vehicles I tell them I’m going to go buy a gas laptop or cell phone. They somewhat wake up and look confused. I’m not here to sell people. People can do as they wish. I bought an EV for reducing operating expenses. Electricity is just crazy cheap. June 2024 I had solar installed. Intent is to nearly zero out my electric bill. My home runs on only electricity. I can zero in on paying off my mortgage faster. Death to compounding interest. How is that not cool? 😆

When a Cybertruck parked next to me i didn't talk to them about it. That was my gift to them. Not having 1 more person talk to them.

The real test for EVs is how many folks will return to IC autos/trucks after owning/using a Tesla. I know I won't. Been driving EVs for a decade (starting w/ Leaf) and haven't pumped gas in years nor been to an auto shop. I have had solar panels for 11 years now and my electric bill is seldom over 2 digits, including charging the Model 3. I'm done with the stinking gas, the oil spots on the garage floor and the regular fleecing by the local car dealership.

Some people feel challenged when other people make totally different choices than they make. They feel questioned even if no one cares what they choose. Buy a Ford if you want but let other people buy whatever they want.

I finally saw it in real life a couple weeks ago. It's legitimely does not look real. Like, it's defying existence by being on the road. And I think Franz came up with the look for exactly that reason. You don't need to drive engagement or have badging, when everyone does a double take and immediately has to know what the heck that thing was. And by the time they find out, they're positively invested and are almost guaranteed to have had a good experience before the media or what they've heard about Tesla from online has a chance to kick in and affect their opinion of the brand.

The Cybertruck hate comes from Reddit. They go over there and get all worked up and then go on the attack. It’s awful and stupid and actually unhealthy for them.

Thanks -great video and sums it up perfectly. Yes, the CT is still kind of ugly 😅 but I just want one. You mentioned that it’s not great for towing, but I actually disagree- it’s really GREAT for towing, FOR SHORTER DISTANCES which don’t exceed your range. The reduced range when towing is only a worry if you’re towing a long way. Example- my son has a RWD Model Y and tows their 19’ boat all the time. He says it’s absolutely effortless, and tows dramatically better than his diesel 4WD, only caveat being range reduction whilst towing means it’s not ideal for LONG tow trips. As for us- five years coming up with Tesla (M3P) and we couldn’t possibly be any happier. I have no plans to update, (even though the new one is even better.)

I enjoyed your take on the Cyber truck 👍🏻 I'm glad you are enjoying it and the negatives you mentioned like you stated you knew it wouldn't be available yet there really aren't that many negatives. People are interesting when you don't have to look at someone face to face and hide behind a keyboard it's easy to talk all this ugliness but when these same people see it in person they sing a different tune. I'm an introvert so I would definitely not get the Cyber truck 😂😂 I enjoy talking about Tesla but always getting stopped yeah not my cup of tea. I took delivery of my refreshed M3 LR in March first EV. I absolutely love this car. I love the tech and minimalism they are fantastic. The car puts a smile on my face every time I get inside. I am a Tesla fan boy but like you I'm not naïve to the fact that Tesla is not perfect and I knew what I was getting myself into especially the lack of being able to talk to Tesla directly but I'm ok with that because overall the car is fantastic. Over three months in car runs great it's comfortable quiet no squeaks rattles or creaks. I enjoy your content. Phoenix AZ

Great video and comments. I own a MY and MX. I have a retired liberal friend who used to work for the EPA. He currently drives a 2000 Saab- has just dropped in his third engine. He brags about the gas mileage- close to 40 and claims it is the best car ever built. He also drives with his windows down and is proud to never use A/C. Every time I bring up an EV he gets a frown on his face. Human nature can be quite irrational, even unexpectedly. A funny CT comment. My adult son (used to work at Honda) and I were driving the other evening when we saw a CT in the exit in front of us. I asked him if he knew what it was…. “Pontiac Aztec?” “Oh no son! That is a Cybertruck”. and we both laughed hysterically. By the way we did get to see the side profile- wrapped in white- very very cool. I am so glad to hear your CT comments. Once Tesla gets more of the software worked out, it will elevate from cool and awesome to outstanding…at least for EV adopters. In ten years the argument for ICE will be nonexistent. Reminds me of watching the movie “Lincoln” with Congress discussing the pros and cons of slavery. Ugh.

Love my CT and my wife still thinks her 2022 Model Y is the best car she's ever driven. Ignore the haters, i get thumbs downs and yelled at on the road from time to time. But anyone that comes up to me in the Walmart parking lot, the gas station (snacks!), etc, they are almost always blown away. At the very least, you can see them reconsidering their life choices. I've given more rides to complete strangers in the last two months, than the rest of my life. And I'm very much a car guy!

I’ve always found it interesting how people who’ve never experienced something, will argue with someone that has experience in that area. The fact that someone would say to you that they don’t work in the winter, then argue with you about that when you as an owner have lived with an EV through the winter and have no complaints, is a sad commentary on our world today. You see this constantly.

Chris, the folks who aren't able to comprehend the expression, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" are the ones who are "wrong". What a vehicle looks like is 100% subjective, and that's an objective fact. There is no right or wrong about how a vehicle looks. Those who feel that their opinions are "right" and everyone should feel the way they do are "wrong". Personally, I don't care what the Cybertruck looks like; I'm getting it because it can't be scratched or easily dented, has rear-wheel steering, has built-in 120/240v outlets, and can tow things. But to me, it looks fine.

Buying one is on my bucket list, but who knows if Tesla comes up with something better. The dual motor for $80K is in my price range.

My friend and I are Cybertruck owners and we have both experienced haters on the road flipping the bird. Luckily there are more people who like the truck. Odd thing is it is more motorcycle drivers then regular ICE trucks. We both love driving our truck. My truck towed a 21 ft bayliner from sea level to 8,000 ft 98 miles with 7% of battery left starting a 100 % charge.

Saw a CT on road atlast!. First thing that struck me watching this video, is the name of channel being apt for reviewing the CT🤔. Not to mean anything Mean about CT😊. Certain that CT will likely have a free chrome delete option for lazy owners in future🤞

Just my opinion… The motors are not efficient enough for the battery technology that currently exists. The vehicles are very heavy, especially commercial trucks. We will have to rebuild all of the roads and bridges, which will cost a tremendous amount of money. The green new deal first estimate is over $93 trillion.!!! that estimate does not include our roads and bridges

You've stumbled onto something that is very prevalent in American culture, and has gotten a lot more exposed in the last decade. If you're part of some non-conformant group, there is a sizeable amount of the general public that will go out of their way to make you feel bad. You've discovered it by owning a Cybertruck. This same culture does this to kids that are different in school. Does it to racial groups. Does it to LGBTQ, etc. I really don't understand what drives such a large portion of the population to feel like they need to attack and belittle marginalized groups. It's all just generalized hate speech, and I wish there was some ramifications for it.

No truck will be 100% perfect for everyone. I like F150s but not F350s, I like Rams but only when they get a larger lift and wheels. I don’t really like GMCs that much. I think the Maverick is silly. I think the Avalanche is the worst looking truck. Does any of that affect anything? No. It just means I probably won’t buy them. I know the F150 is super popular so great, go buy one of those if you don’t like the Cybertruck, I don’t care. Just let me have my own preferences 😂

I turned down delivery of a Cybertruck and picked up a model X. Just didn't want to experience all the hype along with the first production issues. Maybe after a year or two.

I don't hate the CyberTruck. It is fine for what it is and as a tech demonstration platform. What I hate is the bad business decision that Tesla made to spend 4 years figuring out how to make it, rather than immediately moving on to making the $25K car. Doing so would have been much more consistent with their mission and they would be producing upwards of a million a year by now, rather than the 50 - 100K of the CyberTruck. Estimates are that Tesla spent billions developing the CyberTruck. If that is accurate, how long will it take before they break even on it (ROI)? This dead period cost them momentum in the EV market and market position with companies like Hyundai / Kia introducing cheaper platforms now, like the EV3; Tesla is behind on small cars. Yes, I know that Tesla is introducing some new things on 8/8/2024. But you notice that it is billed as a 'RoboTaxi' event, not small car, which worries me about their priorities. Tesla has a bad case of 'not invented here' / 'it has to be perfect', as they define 'perfect'. Meanwhile, other companies may be taking a more reasoned approach that better balances high return innovation with an all or nothing approach. So, recognize the CyberTruck for what it is, but also understand the MAJOR business strategy opportunity cost that it represents.

Look, cybertruck rocks. But people (NPCs) are PROGRAMMED to hate 1. Different, 2. EVs. 3. Elon 4. Things that make their stuff look old or weird.

I don't hate the Cybertruck, but I do think it's pretty stupid. It's way too expensive, the bed is not very useful or accessible compared to a real pickup, it would be a lousy work truck for a contractor (what I use a truck for), and it's not a good business product for Tesla because it's polarizing, hard to make, and problematic for them, while not likely to be a huge seller that makes money. The CT was the wrong truck for Tesla. They could have made an elegant, badass pickup to compete with the F-150 Lightning, that normal people would buy in droves and would make money for Tesla to raise their profile among gas-guzzler truck fans, thus expanding their market. They also could have/should have made an electric van, because the entire delivery sector knows switching to electric makes sense now.

I think a lot of people feel they're being blamed for climate change due to their behaviors. Many of these people might be less prosperous and have fewer choices. Additionally, a lot of them might not be engineers or lack an appreciation for efficiency. They might involuntarily be blind to some of the virtues of EVs, for example. Ha! Some might even think such things are evidence of conspiracies. :) The Cybertruck is pretty ... iconic. It's an easy target for projected fear and anger, often resulting in derision and derogatory commentary, especially from those who feel displaced or left behind by what they perceive as elitism. Its newness and otherness might be conflated with all the uncomfortable and stressful things some people endure in the world. That's what I think. I'm a non-driver and could never afford a new car anyway, even if I were a driver; especially not a "decent" EV unless it's at China non-tariffed prices. And I think the Cybertruck looks amazing. I feel a bit let down by the production version compared to the initial hype/promises in some ways, but very excited by some of the innovations and industry advancements it represents. When people lash out with hate, unless it's choreographed by organized means for political or financial purposes, it's probably coming from someone in pain who can't express themselves better and might feel powerless. Maybe some are like proverbial babies spitting out their dummies because they can't get their own way, but maybe some are just struggling in a world they don't understand and don't want, where they see themselves as the "hero" and the Cybertruck aficionados as the menace connected with all the hurt befalling them.
