when applied correctly, plasti dip can last up to 2+ years. it does NOT damage paint. if you wait 2-3 weeks after applying, you can take it through a car wash, hit it with a pressure washer, etc.. and nothing will happen. it's very water proof. I've had my cars emblems, window trim, door handles, and rims dipped for a little under a year now and I haven't had to pay much attention to it at all

so the mirror closes when you lock it, is there chrome left over when you do that? I haven't seen you move the mirror in close position when doing this.

Do you need to disable the auto fold mirrors feature permanently ? The chrome part around the mirrors seems to be the hardest bit to decide what to do. You really need to dissemble the whole mirror if you wanted to coat the whole piece completely, but then what happens when the mirrors auto fold, do they rub and peel the dip?

What I would really like to see, is a translucent black plasti dip, so you could spray it over chrome turn it into black chrome, also another good one would be clear plasti dip so you could spay your car for a track day and still keep it looking good

yes you can use only orange. 3 cans of koi orange and you can do all 4 wheels with full coverage.

So my question is this…the mirrors fold so how do you go about dipping them correctly? Once the mirrors fold there will be chrome visible on the corner. Also speaking of the mirrors folding, how is the durability with the dip being constantly rubbed and scraped by said folding mirror?

so if you wanted to use glossifier does the tape still peel nicely if you let the dip dry then pull when the glossifier final coat is still wet?

No. It doesn't peel that easy. I did my grille and wheels on a car, had it for 2 years, went through car washes all the time.

I plasti dipped my rims matte white with a metalizer and went to the wash yourself car wash. The pressure washer was crazy strong. I swear I thought id peel it right off. Even when i tried my hardest to peel it off the rims it didn't even budge. Was more afraid of damaging the paint on my car than the plasti dip itself

I tried doing this on the trim of my Stinger and I struggled because there is weather stripping above and below the trim. I couldn't get it to peel right since there wasn't enough of a gap. Would you suggest I try and tape back the stripping on the top and bottom all the way across before spraying?

Damn....wish Plasti Dip was around when I had my Eclipse years ago. The black was peeling off the lower window trim so I just put a piece of electrical tape over it. It actually worked pretty good....this would have been better though.

Plan on glossifying the window trim....do I remove the tape on the bottom trim, let dry, reapply tape, and glossify or don't remove tape until glossifier has been applied? Thank you in advance.
