Hey if you want a perfect Plaid for you. Go to custom shop and custom/modify your Plaid to your liking. Don't forget to bring the money also. 200k CD is nothing when you think that you get 1020hp and this kind of performance. No other car manufacturer comes close.
The LTE bars isn’t “for the phone.” The car has its own LTE modem inside of it so it has access to data whether you have a phone or not. Turn off your phone / leave it inside and it’ll still be there.
The armrest tapering to the back is for a safety requirement. In the case of a side impact the door comes in and invades the space inside the cabin, without that tapered armrest the side bolster airbag coming from the seat cannot deploy faster enough and it gets trapped between the door and the B-pillar.
@@khalidsyoung What are you, dense? When the car costs $140k then quality control as well as creature comforts and intuitive controls better fucking be there.
Nice video. A couple of things, though: 1.) There's no leather in the car. 2.) You do get the nav on the driver's display if you set a destination. 3.) Upcoming Track Mode will sort out your turning/accelerating complaints.
Thank you again brother. I am thinking about ordering a 22 Model S. I don't need all that PLAID stuff. Your directness and honesty really is important. Don't change. You see a lot of reviews with people just kissing ass and making things seem like they are perfect. Keep it real! I say. I got my 22 VOLVO XC60 POLESTAR edition to kind of break me in to the electric life. I will see how I feel in October before I push the button to get my 22 Model S.
The one good thing dealerships do is they buy the car, they inspect it, and get paid money for every defect they address. its a revenue stream for them. Tesla obviously doesnt have dealerships... so lost this simple QA step.
I’m thinking that the washer fluid button is pretty unnecessary especially if it doesn’t turn on the the window wiper blades. Honestly I think it would been better to just turn that button into the button that turns on the blades and maybe turn on the fluid if you hold the button down… and I like how you said something about it right after I typed this 😭 welp to late
really love the effort and details in this video, giving me a realistic guide to make an informed decision, keeping expectation in check for the good and bad. Just one question though, for the bad brakes, is it possible to change to a 3rd party racing brakes and dont have to worry about it, or its software locked with pre-determined types/brands of brakes to change to?
For a car nerd this was superentertaining👍. Just out of curiousity, why not the Audi etron GT or Porsche Taycan? The supercharger network? Performance? Range? Keep it up!
I’m a Tesla fan boy 👦. I agree, they should of updated the brakes, your concern is absolutely understandable! They will hear you guys. Great view, thank you ☺️
That was a properly done video, thanks for going in-depth on all the features. Good to know about the less regen on a full charge, this car still needs a lot of tweaks from Tesla.
👀 The shape reminiscent of a grown-up version of Toyota Celica GTS con is waiting period. Nightmare anticipation on the moldings issue. Plaid is reference to the mind bending speed that the driver gets like in Spaceballls. Great video
I have the same car. Only I got wood instead of carbon fiber inside. Black/Black. I have the SAME vein in the yoke. It’s from the airbag. It’s not a defect, it’s supposed to be there. I have pics in case you don’t believe me. Let me know if you think I’m bullshitting you. Great video too and garage.
First time hearing you don't get full power if steering wheel isn't straight, honestly sounds like a smart idea, these things would be crashing into crowds more than Mustangs.
Tesla needs to really get a grip. My model y has excessive trunk poorly latched noise. Can’t even explain it. Even after 3 services it’s not fixed. It’s super annoying
I don't really think of the plaid as a "Sports sedan" but more of a S class (minus the fit and finish) which happens to be quicker than a Bugatti. But I do think It at least needs better breaks, not for performance but for actual safety. As for if it is a one trick pony in the world, it depends on your needs. For someone who just needs a fun, practical, daily this might be the best. But someone who needs a good handling car, this is probably not it.
According to mototrend, the Plaid can brake from 60 to 0mph in 104 feet, just 1 feet shy of a Taycan Turbo S with 420mm carboceramics and 10 piston brake calipers, so i think braking performance for an emergency is pretty great, probably even at an higher speed like 150mph on the autobahn it can brake fairly well, you just need to push hard on the pedal, the problem with the brakes is the temperature, they overheat too quickly. I also noticed that in my Model 3 the brakes needed some break in, braking performance has improved a lot for me
Do not even....an S class? No, nope. This is a shell with 4 wheels and a tablet inside, and 1000hp. S class is actual Luxury. One is a toy, one is not.
Buy one and you will see that all the little shit can be overlooked when you floor it. Just got mine . LOVE IT and yes i have little flaws as well on it
It is amazing that a trillion dollar company does not have more QA in the factory and at the dealer centers. I have had several issues as well with OEMS over the years but they jump on it and Tesla does not.
Had that exact same bump in door weatherstripping. Dealer installed smaller embedded foam rubber pressure pad at the bump location in literally 2 minutes. No big deal , but should have been addressed at factory.
Everyone knows Tesla`s build quality is questionable and it doesn't matter which one you buy. So you have to go into the purchase with this mindset. Or you have to buy a Taycan.
Interestingly, the made in China Tesla’s have really great quality. If China is any indication, with the next generation Austin and Berlin factories coming online in 2022, we should see some great progress regarding quality, especially for paint.
@@willitbreak5825 Sure, but a Porsche is a better made car. We compare these new car brands to companies that have been making cars before we all were born. What do we expect?
Well we need one car that’s comfortable to ride in not when you’re speeding and not when you’re on the race track but when you’re going down the interstate and the interstate in California has more holes in it than you have ever seen in your life and so we actually need something that will glide us over the top of it if we could.
19:30 Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the only reason the seats didn’t fall forward is because they’re still new, and “stiff”? Kind of like a new book that won’t stay open to the page. You gotta work em in and then they should fall forward easily cause they’re heavy.
24:00 Interesting how you describe the inside door panels, "No plastic, leather..." Well it's all plastic leather. "Compared to model Y this is premium", I actually find the suede in ModelY much more premium than this weird fabric they included.
Ditch regen braking for factory carbon ceramics all around and give back the normal steering wheel. It doesn't matter how fast a car is if steering and stopping are lackluster.
LAWL!!!! LEGENDARY REVIEWS! super underrated channel! so true! when you get a car built on a FRIDAY.... you're gambling so much on the quality LOL! thank you for pointing this out! XD This PLAID was probably even built end of shift on a Friday..... LOL and its even worse when you think TESLA Doesnt have a proper Pre delivery inspection to fix any issues that may still be there.... funny how majority of TESLA cars are MADE TO ORDER! yet you get stuff like this......
Interesting Video!👍👍👍 But with switching track mode on, there is nothing to cool down, but instead battery is heated up for best energy flow and max. Power.
You quality video. Thanks for the hard work. 2 things though: 1/I recommend you learn how to close your frunk. What you did was heartbreaking…there is a proper way to do it. Read your Tesla manual or expect to damage your car really quick. 2/ you realize the Plaid is a MS, right? The official name is MS and MS Plaid. So you may say I ordered the plaid version of the MS and not the basic/entry version. But you can not say I ordered the Plaid not the Model S. Those who don’t know will be under the impression that your about a différente car while in fact you are referring to a different trim of the same car model…
Totally, on the opening I referred to it as model S regular os what I have on order. One of the overall points of the video was to show that the model S makes more sense for me vs the differential in cost for the Plaid. Model S + M3P = MS Plaid
Ive ordered one, but have my doubt becaurse every RU-vidr points out a lot of quality issues and I cant understand how it can pass their own qualitycontrol in 2021 !!
18:58 Relax, the reason why it has that storage area is due to the absence of a spare tire. Call me old school but a spare tire is mandatory equipment especially in rural snow country. My GT500 didn't come with a spare so got one from a Mercury Marauder which I learned would fit after doing research.
If anyone is willing to do it, shine a laser at the 'passenger screen'. If there's a screen, you will have lots of small dots wherever the reflection is. If there is no screen, it'll just be a blurry dot. It has to do with interference, and you can see if there are pixels somewhere.
The beauty of tesla is that they’re known to provide software updates to fix a lot of the issues you’ve reported for driving. I’m sure there’s going to be a track mode that will tighten the steering, loosen the acceleration on turns and increase max speed. It’ll probably be a free update too. It’s what makes the experience.
Yeah 20 min in this is a definitely first time Tesla owner review (by seeing him open the charging panel using the car or the phone lol and uses them to close? double lol) Yes it doesn't compare to other cars in this price in many ways. But it does many more things far superior than other cars in it's price range. There is many new things to learn and get used to and the transition is always annoying but please let's get one thing clear. This is not a supercar, track car or even supposed to be a sports car(even know it can outshine those cars in some of their field). This is a powerful family everyday sedan. The brake and suspension is not turned for a track but fit for their purpose(every day drive). It's 100mile~0 braking time is only 0.1 sec longer than BMW m3 competition(a smaller lighter German sports car). Yes it's annoying you can't brake as often(overheats easily) or as hard as your 2 door half the weight sportcars while able to out accelerate those cars but maybe you should blame on the cars which can barely able to fit something bigger than a lunchbasket in their trunk why they are so slow. In the end if you want it to drive more like sports car You mod it to be it. Fit and finishing sucks? Get a custom job done. You can certainly afford it right? Isn't it already quite a bit cheaper even compared to base version taycan TurboS to start with?(please don't get me started on the cost of a fully decked out Taycan)
Great video, id not come across this channel before, have sub'd and will go back through catalog. Tesla isn't *really* a traditional premium brand yet, they're still learning. I hope a track mode comes out that allows 1000hp corner exits, better brakes etc. Few errors in this vid though. . Drag Strip mode is generally "warming the battery" not "cooling the motor" Batteries have a goldilocks temp zone of pretty much battery temp . Entire car is leather free afiak, its all synthetic (plastic) . Ppl pre-heat the cabin to help with doors icing over . One adjusts the charging amps not voltage. . Stereo developed by ex Bang & Olufsen staff. Main car PCB has some DSP chips on it for noise cancelling (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ODdIRr5RzI8.html) thats being turned on soon. . Tesla dont use "light deflecting rain sensor" they use the cameras to detect rain (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y57wwucbXR8.html) . Adjust follow distance on right thumb wheel . Camera colour tint is due to cams being optimised for "broader than human eye" lighting conditions
Thanks for the deep insight! Much appreciated! Love the car, and yes figured out a few little things since I shot this vid. Thanks for taking the time to watch it!
I'm a little late to this because I don't go looking for Tesla videos. I love ya man, love the channel, it has come so far, congrats on the success. I was correct about TSP and TH getting popular and I'm predicting you will be too. But.....you bought a Tesla. Literally every Tesla I have seen or been in has had issues. One trick pony. So, sorry you have issues, but you bought a Tesla - junk. I am excited to see where EV's go in the coming years, but Elon/Tesla will never get my money with their poorly made cars and issues that just do not get resolved. Thankfully you can sell it, and not lose a dime because there are suckers lining up for these things. But, dead honest review, you made some points nobody else is bringing up, and I really appreciate that
Watched the whole thing somehow. Great stuff 👌 Love how in depth this is and wondering how this might affect the sale price of these in the nearest future.
