I had a problem with the strap for the charger door, I took it into service and they pulled it to where it should be. That said, the handle isn't for the charger door, you can open it with your fingers if you need to, the strap is to disengage the charger itself in case it gets stuck in the port. There is a very good reason NOT to change the battery info from percentage to miles. The mileage you get depends on the terrain you travel through, how many pounds your load takes, and speed variables. Driving to a place like Los Vegas through the flat desert is going to take less battery than driving through hills and mountains. If you plan on going by miles....keep the Tesla roadside assistance number handy as you will probably run out of "miles" pretty quickly.
