Some of us are under 40 and still call them hub caps. I ripped mine off the model 3 the day I got it home. If I wasn't the final pickup of the day I would hae told the Tesla people to remove them for me so I don't look like I just left pep boys forbidden isle driving home.
I wish companies would offer something other than black wheel covers. I’m so over the whole black wheel thing. Something stylish to match the grey 18” Model 3 wheels would be great.
You have to be commended for all the coordination and work to put this video together!! And it's an excellent video! So many great options but I think I liked the Hurricane ones on the Model Y the best, with the Arachnid a runner up. Tomorrow I may have a different opinion! Cheers
Just bought the Blade style for MYLR... Used your code and got 20% off PLUS free shipping with their current promo. Insane, I feel like I just stole something lol thank you BTG!
THANK YOU for this video. I recently purchased a 2024 Model Y long range (trading in my 2021 Model 3 Long range) and I really debated on which brand of wheel covers to buy. I had bought some for the Model 3 off Amazon and the clips on 3 of 4 covers broke just installing them. These covers from Tesplus are amazing, they fit SO MUCH BETTER and don't feel like they are going to break. Your video also helped me decide which style to go with. I ended up getting the Hurricane style for my Model Y. This and so many of your videos have helped. Thanks and keep them coming !!!
Uberturbine for the win! Want a the Performance Y but without the low profile 21” tire headaches, $2500 expense for replacement tires and a rough ride? Here is a tip: Purchase the Dual Motor version with the standard 19” wheels and slap on some Uberturbine wheel covers. Add the $2k performance software upgrade and you are good to go!
You’re a modern day Santa Claus! I really like the Hurricane and Turbine Styles. this is definitely on my MY to do list. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Its 1 of the first things I did regarding my model 3. Get rid of the stock OEM hubcaps. Dark wheels/hubcaps remind me constantly of winter conditions. Nothing more depressing than running around on dark wheels. Don't know why everyone wants dark wheels. Aluminum by nature is not black/dark. It's got an offset grey/silver to it. But silver more than anything. Unfortunately you didn't use a hubcap popular in the Asia markets. What's really good is being able to customize the wheel cap to your liking. I've managed to put some designs and little tidbits regarding my other car on my daily 3. Looks way better. Also covers up the curb rashing the previous owner did to the oem wheels.
Looking at a Model Y and trying to decide 19's or 20's. After seeing this best compromise would be 19's with a set of these hubcaps. Kind of suprised I'm talking about hubcaps, but they look great.
I don’t understand why Tesla owners aren’t frustrated tesla used hubcaps. My experience with past cars with hubcaps leaves me pessimistic I would like having to be forced to buy new hubcaps because Tesla sucks at providing quality wheels. That’s the second worst fear I have about my future decision to choose Tesla. My first is if Juniper is then out and it has no stalks. But I appreciate you sharing what options there are. I probably like the arachnid or original sports style.
I just put the EV Arachnid covers on model 3, really like them. Just got the black Tesla cap covers in but waiting on the silver ones. Just noticed my center cut out is different though. EV one is solid round piece which takes an adhesive cap.
Absolutely awesome video! This was so cool to see! I tried, putting in that code you gave BTG but it’s not working? I tried at least three or four times but it’s not validating the discount code.
I bought the blade style covers from Tesplus for my new MY. They look great however they did not come in left and right pairs. That seems wrong to me? What has everyone else's experience been?
Foam doesnt help, my 4 gemini -23 alloy looks horrible under the ”china abs-plastic cap”😢 brand new wheels totalt destroyed after 3months. And when trying to get them of 3/4 broke in parts… I cant belive how they manage to get scratced around like small curb scaff under the plastic.😮
Thanks for such amazing video. I used your code to order Hurricane style covers for my MYLR. Only thing is Tesplus is too slow in processing the order. Its been about a week since I placed the order and they still have not shipped it yet. No idea when I will get to try them on my car. But thanks for such great video !! Cheers !!!
So just keeping you all posted…I ordered a set of these wheel covers from TESPLUS, and they just arrived. I went to install them, but found that the center caps for each did NOT have the Tesla logo on them, but were completely blank! Just a solid, smooth black cap. I’ve just e-mailed them, and the website says they’ll respond within 24 hours. We’ll see. I’m just angry that they would ship something like that. Were they hoping I wouldn’t notice?? I’m not going to replace my wheel covers with something not Tesla-branded, and they should know better. So now I sit here with $180 worth of wheel covers I can’t install yet. Stay tuned…I’ll let you know how this works out. UPDATE: 5/8/24 - I’m back to give an update! TESPLUS was great about getting the proper center caps out to me. I had them in hand within 2 days of them getting my message. So all’s well that ends well!
Oh no, I wish I saw this comment of yours before I ordered. I believe these are non-returnable. What did they say?? All the pics of my covers I ordered on their website have the Tesla logo. I have yet to receive the covers
@@curtiskirk584 Don’t worry. I just came back to give an update and saw your reply. They sent me the correct, Tesla-branded center caps as soon as they got my message. I had them within 2 days, so it’s all good.
I’ve always wondered why these cover makers don’t make them in a higher gloss option instead of this kinda matte black only which looks dirty all the time.
Tesla knew the default original "efficient" covers were ugly as heck. It made a great upgrade incentive. This move was super cheesy. Next Tesla is going have tie die interrior, but not even a cool tie die, instead it will be brown, purple, yellow swirl painted dash (that reduces interior heat absorption by 1degree), unless, you want to upgrade to carbon fiber for +$5K.
I made the mistake of trying the arachnid s3xy wheels for the model 3 and they didn’t have the metal clips on the inside of them and didn’t seat on the wheel properly due to the plastic nature. I’m looking at the Uber wheels, blade, and induction. When it comes to the backing of them and the seat if which did you find were better as far design and how they were put together?
The foam has nothing to do with scratching and everything to do with rattling. I’ve had these for years and they all rattle over time, until they figured out the foam solution. Finally my quiet car stays quiet.
I simply don't understand why you put wheel covers on to protect the rim from scratches. You can't see the rims anyway, and no matter what, you can see that they are wheel covers = cheap way to hide rims, but it just look cheap
What is that strip you attached to the wheel covers? Can you please share that strip product link? And do these wheel covers come up with that Tesla logo as well?
I have always supported the advice of the Bearded one, but the my experience with Tesplus wheel covers have been a total nightmare. I ordered the Turbine style covers for my Model Y from Tesplus. When they arrived there were no instructions and you have to add foam around the perimeter and connectors with very poor picture on the web page. Being as careful and I could and aligning everything, I started to slowly install the first cover. As I went around the cover pushing lightly around the perimeter to seat it on the wheel, I heard some popping sounds and discovered the wheel plastic connector tabs broke off rendering the wheel cover totally useless. The company doesn't respond timely to emails and when they do, they are not supportive and will DO NOTHING. Who ships products with no instructions and then says, you need to follow instructions ? A total and complete rip off company! Very Sad.... I never though the Bearded Telsa guy would endorse such poor a quality organization and products.
Cust Service side shouldn't be like that. The rest of your experience is normal for all wheel covers out there. The only way to break tabs is to install misaligned
Thanks for the response. Interestingly, I have installed other covers with no issues along with my OEM Tesla wheel covers. My experience with Tesplus customer service is they don't respond in a timely or supportive fashion. We Love your channel @@BeardedTeslaGuy
do the wheel covers attach the same way as the ones that come with the 19" model y? been told there may be issues when going through a car wash. Any validity to that?
these attach the same way, but unlike the factory wheel covers, these go beyond the lip of the factory wheel, covering that perimeter of the actual wheel with the cover. I have never seen one come off in a car wash, but I suppose its possible
When I tried to install them one side fits and when I go to install the other side, the first side pops out. Very frustrating. I have 18" wheels on a 2020 Tesla Model 3. I cannot figure this out. Help?
In case you’re hoping and wondering: zero efficiency tests. This video is all about looks, which is fine, but some efficiency tests would have been very nice. Especially in the MY since its overall less efficient than M3
@@CyberScott86 You know you can get a discounted model ordered directly from tesla with less than 4k down payment and a total no more than 20 grand with a ref code.
I just ordered the Hurricane ones and in all the pics they have a Tesla logo in the center. Did the ones you ordered also have the Tesla logo in all the pics on their website? Just trying to see if I should expect it to arrive with nothing like yours. If so, false advertising.
Could I use 19" model y covers on a model 3 19" wheels? I seen these covers which are made for model y and they look amazing so wondered if they would fit also on same size wheel but model 3
The code is still not working, and it’s too bad that they only ship too Canada and USA, would love too have a new arachnid set off caps sent too Denmark
