Great review, covered everything objectively. Yep, the ride is firm, the car in the video would probably have benefited from lower tyre pressure, it was shown as 49psi whereas 42psi is the recommended.
49 PSI that's really high! They must do that because it reduces rolling resistance at the expense of comfort. Still would prefer higher PSI than lower PSI. I remember the Firestone disaster in the states where dealers were lowering pressure to increase ride comfort while at the same time causing loads of blowouts on the motorway.
If they apply the facelift changes on the Model 3 (excluding the ridiculous and dangerous removal of steering wheel indicator stalks) to this Model Y it would be quite an improvement! There's no doubt that Tesla's technology is much better than other EV's and that, combined with their charging network, makes Tesla's very attractive. But, but, but, putting everything into the infotainment screen is, to me, both unacceptable and dangerous to use when driving. Buttons and knobs for heating and sound are essential and a speed readout must be in front of the driver in a binnacle or HUD. Sort all that out Elon and I could be tempted.
Really still cant get used to the minimalist interior. I want a traditional instrument binnacle and a heads up display. Can't fault the Tesla drivetrain, packaging or looks though.
