Got my 2022 performance Y last month! Absolutely one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’m in the process of getting solar and once it’s in the savings will get even better. Having the 60 amp circuit for the level 2 charger will keep me from having to charge at work or even the superchargers. Appreciate your review of the car. You pointed out a lot of the key features that make this car great. The perf Y also has a lower suspension and I believe a better overall ride on the 21’s, just have to see how long the tires last! Hahaha. Great video, thanks for sharing!
I changed the pirelli tires on my MYP to Michelin pilot all seasons. 275/35/21 in the front and 295/35/21 in the back which squared off the car, provided a softer ride, as well as providing better rim protection.
@@Theoneandonlyearthhuman My Michelin Pilot all season also do a pretty good job in the snow and icy conditions. I was up in big bear and the cabin had a slightly steep incline and it handled it very well
Awesome video!! I am going thru the "I gotta have an EV phase" and I watch every EV video I can watch like a hungry kid is attracted to dinner lol. I also am a content creator so I know what it takes to run, or to launch and run a newish YT channel. You obviously come from some experience because you did an awesome job on your videos so far. Kudos and big thumbs up 👍👍👍 As far as Tesla is concerned you hits on all the important points. I'm still in the "dreaming" about it stage so I do the "imagine what I would do first" mental games. You hit right on target like an arrow on some points. Showing those scratched up rims made me cheer like I was watching a football game lol. The consensus of the reasonable Tesla owners with YT channels is specifically targeted towards Martian MW05 19" rims with the proper tire sizes to solve for more rubber for a softer ride and stronger wheels to keep breakage at bay . Have you had that idea run thru your mind? And the other big clue words I listen too or listen for is about ride. The comments from Yer's is a little too large of a difference for comfort. They run from "the car is too noisy" to the "new 2022 is much quieter" it it makes my gut churn in indecisiveness. It pushes me maybe unnecessarily towards the X where you get continuous "so quiet and smooth" comments. I am attracted to that - but it's double the price. I know test drives are in order, but I just wanted your take on that :) Congratulations on your new launch, of course I subscribed so I can watch even more Tesla stuff, but I can watch as your channel unfolds. As a retired professional photographer and now a YT content creator I can tell you the audio and video was and is spot on with nothing calling attention to itself and that is exactly what you want. You don't want those stupid comments of "I can't hear you" or "the music is too loud over your voice" or video that isn't up to snuff. Technically you are solid as a rock, so it's now all up to your content. I would include some "kids angles" point of view showing how they are a makeup of the family like EV Dave shows his dogs in the Tesla occasionally and then uses that as an opportunity to show off "dog mode" and so on. Of course Kyle at Out Of Spec is the big kahuna and the advantage of guys like that to smaller or beginning channels is to tap in for ideas on other video content, kind of like a "monkey see monkey do" type thing 😊 Very helpful when in the "what do I do next" mode. I go thru that myself in my genre' lol. Here's to you hitting the big numbers. You have a friendly communication style and also a friendly personality and come across with a welcoming feeling which important in videos. A lot of folks try and sound to "macho" and cool which can sometimes have an unfriendly and put-offish result. I felt right at home with your style. Big thumbs up for both your style and the content of this video 👍👍
Only thing I think you might’ve mentioned that an addition to the convenience of charging at home is not having to ever stop at a gas station. I get that long trips are a little less convenient because of the time it takes to charge on the road, but for most people it’s an overall positive.
I love that. I love that it doesn't need gas.. it doesn't smell. Going to drive in movies was interesting as we got all that last night from other cars.
"a little less convenient" depends on circumstances and should be qualified subject to an audit of actual use. For instance. How fast you drive (in an ICE vehicle) determines not only your vehicle range, but also your "Passenger range". If you tend to stop every 3 hours when on your own, but every 2.5 hours when you carry passengers, at an average 70 mph that's (obviously) 210 reduced to 175 miles. (We're not talking the "hyperdistance drivers" here) Once you establish a personal average, then account for your average stop duration, I would think that actual inconvenience reduces, even disappears. For most, the metric of "miles per bladder" combined with average stop time should demonstrate the suitability of a vehicle. Let's say 70mph (including "on/ off" and traffic. 3 hours "MPB" (bladder!) 210 miles used from a 250 mile range leaves 8% remaining. Then consider the likely second leg length. How many trips do you take over say 350 miles? Would you travel 3 hours, then 2 hours between subsequent breaks? Would you start after breakfast, stop at 12 (3 hours) for lunch, or "splash and dash", travelling an extra 2+ hours before stopping to eat? Drain to 8% Walk to facilities, use, return.... 20 mins? (With hand wash/ email check) buy coffee) If you gain 60% (70% total) in that 20 minutes, you have 150 miles range before you drain to that same 8% That's your 2 hours, taking you to the "late lunch" 40 minute stop at about 14:30, during which you can charge to over 90%. It's actually a far more civilised way to travel!
I’m on my 4th Tesla from 2016 Model S P90D , 2 Model 3PD’s(2018/2019), and a 2021 Model Y Performance. The Model Y while the slowest of them is by far my favorite for fun, value , and utility. I do wish it had air suspension …I would never sell it!
Great review, I’m seriously considering a Tesla but I’m super nervous. But I must watching your video has definitely reduced my anxiety. I’m thinking more on the side of the long range option.
Yeah that is the better move. Longer wait time to keep watching tesla videos. Once you get a Tesla, you won't look back. I'll never buy a gas powered car again.
Just ordered myself the Model Y Performance last night since the tax rebate runs through the end of March. I actually never have driven one but my wife has and she’s obsessed. Thank you this really comforts me in my purchase.
Have watched your A/V channel and was surprised when this review popped up. We also have a MYP in Midnight Silver. Love it. We are a 5 car household but the MYP has become my favorite daily driver. Surprisingly terrific. The spring rates are a little too aggressive, making the ride firmer than necessary, and the steering ratio is a notch too fast making it unnecessarily twitchy, but overall we love everything else about it, especially the autopilot, the great seats, the spaciousness, the sound system, and the convenience of never taking it to the gas station.
Terrific video! I’ve had my 2021 Model 3 SR+ for a year now, with nearly 14,000 miles, and can confirm much of what you said. Like you, I have found the car, acquiring and driving it, to be unique and far and above any other vehicle I’ve had in my 50 years of driving. I’m glad to see someone like yourself, a very typical American with the F150, discover the advantages of EV ownership, and finding a very positive way to share your experience. It is important to counter those who spread misinformation about EVs, and suffer from FUD, and the naysayers, virtually none of them EV owners themselves. Yes, if you can, get your home set up with proper charging (Level 3), talk with your utility to see if they offer EV discounts, check on any federal/state/local tax rebates and other incentives for EV owners. They can be substantial. We love our EVs! My Model 3 and my wife’s VW ID.4 have dramatically improved our lives and those of our two teenage boys. Look forward to more content, B!
Definitely. We have been eyeing an EV for while and after seeing a lot of other potentials, I see a pretty solid tech advantage for tesla. More to come
Great review, I’ve learned a lot from you on your other channel. Thanks for the time and effort that you put in to provide these videos. Because of you I have the A80j and the C1 👍 Thanks Again
Love your Installer videos.. they really helped me step up my tv mounting and wire management game! This channel looks like another winner. I have had a Tesla Model X 100D since Sept 2018 and it’s been great. Always good to see a video about Tesla from a fresh perspective. Keep up the great work!
Thank you. This is very informative and it relieved some of my worries. There are a lot of videos that I watched and your video covered very important information and very detailed. Enjoy and stay safe.
You can “recover” those 15 miles difference by changing to 20” tires. Although requires an investment on your part. I’ve ordered the Y performance as well. Good video, straight to the point. I like it ! Congrats on your MYP!
@@btheconsumer what’s the advantage you’re taking about? I own a Tesla MYP and all I keep reading about is that Elon is opening up the US superchargers to any and all EV’s and they are going to be doing it very very soon. So our one and only advantage is gone very soon. I already use many locations that are always jam packed and you have to wait for a charge - how is that going to be for us when everyone can use them and they are taking up multiple spaces because they don’t know how to properly park their EV’s? I saw a guy using up 4 spots with a model y the other night because he had a trailer attached to it. Seriously take your trailer off while you charge - you’re using 1 charger and blocking 3 while you cook dinner out of the back of your teardrop trailer. By the way the 10% the cost vs gas is way off too. I get a discount rate on my electric and it’s still hundreds of dollars a month extra on my electric bill - so I say it’s half as much as gas realistically. My electric bill used to be $80-$120. If I actively charge every night and am driving a lot my electric bill has been as high as $325 during a month it’s typically $80. That’s a huge jump in electric cost. So it’s not as cheap to charge at home and that’s with the EV discounts. Now I just charge at our city hall that has 12 chargers that are free after 5pm up til 7am on the weekdays and free all weekend. So I always charge for free now unless I’m on the road and use superchargers.
You're not doing it right my friend. Our electric bill is $50 less since we have a Tesla and we drive 120 miles a day. The technology and battery production gives tesla an advantage. They make 1m EV cars a year.. FSD, even autopilot is solid. They're pretty far ahead.
Congratulations B! I usually watch you’re videos as a fellow installer looking for tips. I work for Best Buy as a contractor and it’s my dream gig! I was happy to see to join us in the EV world as well. I just purchased an E Transit for my work van. It gets around 130 range which is more than enough for 3-4 jobs a day. We also have a Tesla model 3, and a mustang Mach e just purchased last week. We’re all in! Enjoy!
Awesome review👏👏👏 My hubby surprised me on Easter Sunday that he purchased a Tesla for me…the same as yours…performance, color, tires, and interior color. Wonderful to see what I will get whenever it gets here. Originally, June/July. Now, July-August🥺😢 I’m just slight nervous (a lot) on how to drive one. Any suggestions? And, is the panoramic roof quite tinted? Thank you for sharing your experience. Btw, love the Yankees hat. A big fan since the late 1970s. Loved Bucky Dent!
Great review and welcome to the Tesla family. Something you left out that I would've mentioned is the regular software updates that Tesla vehicles receive. This is my favorite feature because this means your car will get new features and better performance over time. In effect, the car gets better over time.
Yeah, took them long enough to get a simple "add a stop" feature. Also my Bluetooth is quite bad in this car vs other previous cars so they have more work to do
Been enjoying your content on the the Installer channel. Nice to see you join the Tesla family! I have a 2021 Red Model Y Long Range. I have to admit I love it. Your other option could have been to get the LR and add the acceleration boost later. It lowers the 0-60 time by .6 of a second.
its still not the same as the performance model - that additional .4 secs though appears to be a small number gives a big kick - plus the lowered suspension and performance brake instill more confidence cornering at high speeds. I just wish it had an air suspension!
Ordered the Model Y Performance about three weeks ago! I am running 100% solar in my house and I am producing more power that the amount I'm using, so recharging at home with a wall charger is not gonna cost me a cent 😃 already installed the 60 amp breaker and ordered the wall charger 🤣 can't wait for delivery date (june-july 2022)
Be aware that if you can’t afford a performance MY, the LR model with acceleration boost option is a good choice. 0-60 in 4.2S and 564 HP (The only drawback is the horrid 19inch wheels with plastic trims !) quite a shock on a €70K car !!
I’m pleased you said the suspension is good. I agree, it’s a firm ride, much like a performance German car. Journalists have criticised the ride, but there is nothing wrong with it .
How was it going from the f150 to the myp? I know you still have your f150 but I’m considering trading my raptor in for the myp mainly due to overall lower cost (fuel, maintenance, etc). The f150 comes in handy for me once or twice a year but it’s mainly my daily driver. No off-roading in it and I don’t need it for work. But I love the size and ride height of the truck. Would definitely love to get your thoughts!
Bryan, I have never been a huge truck fan. I had it for work and it is a great truck but the MYP has so many features and is nimble on the road. Driving up hills is night and day, truck pushes hard but the MYP just scoots up with ease. Fun experience and I no longer like driving my F150
@@btheconsumer Great new channel B! Are you intending on getting a second EV to replace the F150? The F150 lightning or another Tesla? What would hold you back from getting an EV for work? Thanks ;)
Loved your content awesome job as you’ve covered all the common and some non-common issues, I myself ordered the LR model Y with 19” rims, I also plan on powered coating the rims black with black decals all the way around the vehicle. The vehicle is Grey with white interior
Really can't wait to get mine now. l order the model y long range back in March. Supposed to get it in August but they changed my delivery date to September and I added the third row and I should have my solar up soon so can't wait! Also like the RAV4 Prime but you will still need GAS 2004 Camry I'm putting in 85 every week just about 70 miles newer Camry get better gas mileage I drive daily from work and kids pickups
Ordered MYLR 10/21; originally scheduled for 5/22, then 6/22, THEN 12/22-1/23,.. now 10/22-11/22. Mildly frustrating, but we’re in the “want” not “need” category fortunately.
great video. I enjoyed your TV videos as well. I have a late model 2021 MYP white on white. I did something with my tires that you may find in. if you don't plan to race your car on a track, I did the following. I changed my tire size to 295/35/21 in the back and 275/35/21 in the front. I changed the pirelli tires to Michelin pilot all season 4 and I love them. the ride is much more comfortable and my rims are finally protected. 45000 miles warranty is a better than 20000. what do you think? keep up the good work.
We didn't get details until the week of. The car was "born" 5 days before we took delivery ... also when they called for our delivery appt reminder, they allowed us to come on the spot vs waiting the 2 more.
Tesla also has the cameras under the side view mirrors to see the curbs as well as warning sounds. You missed the additional trunk storage and on screen turn signal cameras. Certain 2022 models no longer have radar but camera view instead. Overall great video quality.
Tip: When you get the Autopilot hands-on-wheel alert, you can just press (not click) the right-side stalk. Much more relaxing than wrestling the steering wheel to provide the torque the system is looking for.
Yeah its great. Wish the suspension had a more relaxed setting. I heard the 3 is a little smoother and the long ranges of both are the smoothest but the tight suspension is awesome for rocking around.
Thanks for the video, MYP owner here. Rear Tire blew up on the freeway (long story), I didn’t know that tire selections are limited on uberturbine wheels and cost $450+ a tire! People who go for the LR have more choices with tires on the LR wheels than MYP wheels. Its Something to consider if buying the MYP over the LR. I honestly got the MYP for the shorter delivery window but overall Still love it 👍🏽 just prepare to bite the bullet when one of tires get hit or when it’s time to change tires ! Ouch!
Sounds like you haven’t had a chance to explore the voice commands. Check out some RU-vid videos on that and you’ll really enjoy the vehicle. Also the stats app will enable you to use Siri to issue voice commands. It’s a must have companion app for Teslas
finally someone that didnt get the ridiculous white interior lol. Looks great! Also 3.5 seconds to 4.8 seconds is a huge difference and worth every penny!
How many miles are you getting on your 21" rims? I am debating between MYP and MY LR. I love the look and extra features of MYP but super concern about the extra cost of tires on 21" wheels. It is super expensive and as EV cars, the tires go fast. If you had to go back in time, Would you choose the MY LR? Thanks
I get my Tesla Y in June or July super excited. I test drove one last week and the Generative breaking is definitely something I am going to have to get use to.
B, sweet i love your tv reviews and now u have a MYP. I have my MYP MSM with white interior on hold bc i want it built from austin to get the 4680 cells. I have a perfectly working prius prime so im in no rush to buy my tesla. I can wait.
Thanks for the support. I could understand the desire to wait. Although that model will have only 279 miles range and I don't think they have plans for MYP I'm Texas for a while.
Everything is straight to the point. Great video. I'm waiting for my MYP to be delivered in about 2 weeks. I'm still hesitated about charging. i'm kinda nervous about it. In my head, there's always doubt, such as, what if I forget to charge, what if the charge won't work properly, what if there's problem with battery, what if an update change the driving behaviour, etc,. it will render my trip and daily plan. On the other hand, i'm kinda happy to get an EV, so that wherever I go, whenever there's traffic jam, I won't need to worry about gas, I can drive around the city with ease. My current car is LEXUS RX 450H, great car, put gas once a month, range 900km each tank (very accurate) regardless the weather.
The front seats are high for a reason, coupled with lower back seats it expands leg room in the rear. This is largely why it feels larger than you expect. Clever design. The downside i find is the higher you sit the more rocking motion you get on bumpy roads. Small price to pay. We have the same red MYP w/ white interior, graphite dash. Best car we've ever had. Can't sell the ICE cars fast enough.
Hi, Have you the new vision feature and how is it without USS availability? We have ordered a MYP which now comes without USS, but have read mixed reviews on Vision when it comes to parking. Any thoughts?
great information...me and my wife debating either on the model y or rav4 prime...leaning towards the Y...but is there panel or something u can do to cover light from roof on very sunny days?
We were in the desert this weekend 98° on way home and not an issue. It's pretty tinted, we had a rav4... nice car but not a Tesla. Major tech differences, and tesla holds the value. I'm sure the rav4 is better priced and has rebates to make it worth the consideration. Good luck
Hey B, nice complete video for potential buyers. You say you want to quit gas, would the y work as installation vehicle? IE is there a load limit with the car?
It would be hard to transport tvs but I'm sure it could hold all my tools. I would probably trash it, so keeping it clean ok inside would be priority. Some companies have 100k vans so wouldn't be worse option.
I'm sure I'm late with this info but with the long range model you can get the "acceleration boost" option for $2K which will drop the 0-60 down to 4.2 seconds. 1/4 mile goes to 112mph vs 110mph stock vs 115mph for the Performance. So that option will put you squarely between the stock long range and the Performance.
That's a dumb thing to do.... Performance model is $5k more, but if you add the accel boost for $2k and upgrade to 20" rims for $2k, than you should just get the Performance model that goes 3.5 seconds!!!!!!!!!!
I generally watch you as the TV Installer, and appreciate you using an Apple TV as I do. I decided to give your new channel a look. Thanks for your honest assessment about the car and the problems and misunderstanding you had. I really liked your review. Thank You.
Thanks for stopping by. I had to stop using the apple tv for youtube tv. Some mismatch and flickering on ESPN and other channels. Can't get rid of it no matter the changes I make. Doesn't happen on native OS apps. But still love the ATV
We get the 120-135 each night. It can go to 300 but I charge to 90% or 270 as they recommend. They say its better to charge every other night and take it down to 60 miles or so and back up to 270. A lot of people making their cases anyways.
You mentioned the F150, i currently own a f150 and im scared to switch, would you say it was worth it. Or do you miss the spaciousness and inside room you had on the f150
The yoke steering wheel for tesla is perfect. Yoke steering wheel is a unique and fun way to steer. This high quality steering wheel has an incredible feel, too. It's a must-have for long road trips! I know where can you get it at a great price 😁😁
My family and I ordered a Tesla MYP (our first EV) and hopeful for delivery in a few weeks. The one topic I find most confusing is charging options when traveling. Of course I understand superchargers but all the other ones are quite confusing and which charging adapters to get. TY
Just subscribed over from the installer channel. Considering an EV, but maybe moreso a hybrid. Did you ever consider a hybrid instead of going full EV? If you did consider hybrid which were you considering? Thanks
Why are all the RU-vidrs hitting curbs? Lol I’ve been driving for 15 years and have never hit a curb like you guys do. It’s an automatic fail in CA if you’re testing for your license. Also, the car (my model 3)does beep at you when you get close to the curb. Sad to see, congrats on your purchase!
Great video. I also live in SD. You mention you use the SDGE Time of Use plan that gives a low utility rate during super off-peak times for $16 monthly surcharge. For what it's worth, we have two EVs (including a model Y) and still found that the plan was not worth it. For us the other EV plan with no monthly surcharge, but slightly higher utility rate penciled out better for us. You really have to use a lot of electricity during off-peak to offset the $16 monthly surcharge.
Hey Ralph. I'll have to analyze my first bill. From what I saw the only downside was the peak use from $.46/hwH to $.68/hwH but if we use the EV2 then the super off peak would be $.24/hwH (vs my .10/) and the peak would be lower but charging frpm 12-6am would cost me more than double every day. From 4-9pm we do use a good deal of power, but I couldn't decide if the car st 30Amp for 6 hours would save us but the lady at SDGE said 600 miles per month would cover the difference. I'm not sure her math waa correct but we have put 2k miles on car in just under 4 weeks so we are using that 12-6am charge each night. I'll come back to this comment and likely make a video on this later.
@@btheconsumer we are on EV-TOU2 and was originally on EV-TOU5. You are only allowed to change plans once a year which is a bummer. But on the other hand, you will have plenty of time to see how it goes. For what it's worth, we are doing much better on TOU2. One potential difference is that we have roof solar with Tesla home battery. So we care less about daytine rates and focus more on nighttime rates when we rely on the grid. The 24 cent vs 11 cent super off-peak rate (+ 16 dollar monthly charge) just didn't pencil out for us. Your mileage may vary.
Thanks for sharing... I'm trying to decide btwn the MYP or MYLR... I assume the MYLR will have the smoother ride, but is it quieter too? The miles saved are negligible, so I'm trying to figure out how much of a difference in the smoothness of the ride... any idea if it's a big difference? Or is the MYP still relatively smooth and quiet compared to your truck or Rav4? I used to have a BMW 3series, but now drive a Volvo XC60 and Acura MDX. So if the MYP is no worse of a ride to those, then I will be dropping my deposit shortly. Thanks
The MYP is great. Some have said the Y in general isn't as smooth as the Model 3 but I don't know. The 330 of the MYLR is a bonus but we use only 150 max per day. Which is a lot. The suspension is stiff so it rides similarly to our rave limited but nowhere near as fun as the MYP. My truck is dead to me as well.
I’m in the same situation as you debating on getting a second MYLR or MYP. But you also have to take in consideration is order wait time for MYLR is about 1 year vs MYP about 3 months once you place the order. My wife ordered her MYLR back in beginning of Dec. 2021 and not even close to getting it and me if I order my MYP now I would actually get it sooner crazy how tesla sets priorities to deliver orders to customers now.
Hi Brandon. How do you and your family feel about the seats in the Model Y? Especially I'm thinking about if you think they become to warm to sit in during summertime?
When did you order your MYP? Just curious, I ordered mine mid Feb with a supposed March date. As of three days ago it was pushed back by Tesla for the third time, now saying mid May to mid June.
Yeah we ordered November to Feb and in late January they moved us. Our car was off the assembly line or "born" just 3 days before we took delivery. So I'd believe their delay is real. Tons of orders right now.
I put money down on a LR MY with the 19 inch standard wheels. You may imagine that I think the 21 inch Ubertines are absurd and you are right . Pot holes will bend them and the ride on rough roads will be much rougher. If you had 19 inch all seasons you could comfortably drive it up to ski slopes. If I really like my Model Y, I may put some custom made light weight wheels on it to lower the unsprung weight. I have only test driven a Model Y--so the experience and opinions of others with more direct experience should be considered.
Hey first video let's go!! When lexus comes out with a full EV. I'll be in the market for one! I'm just a lexus fan and I can't ever drive another car!!! But man that tesla is nice 👌🏽
I am looking forward to the established car companies to get more EVs on road. Tesla has a huge advantage with their giga factories and the battery production. It's hard not to get swept up in it once you see their process
@@btheconsumer I hear you on that B! I do love the tesla but unfortunately for me I am a lexus lover! The feel of a tesla is like no other I have driven in one! I was holding on to the oh sh*t bar 😆
Purchased a Tesla Model Y performance last Nov 21. Awesome car with one issue. I live the performance car but the performance 21” wheels was a mistake. Search for “Cracked 21” Tesla Uber wheels”. So many problems. Our rim cracked within 4 weeks. I’m 52. Never have I had a cracked rim on a previous car, including performance BMW 528i. Cracked rims not covered under warranty. Replacement? $850. Ouch. Ended up swapping out the 21” rims with much less expensive hit great looking 19” rims from Costco. Everything else about owning the Model Y has been a home run.
Brandon - what model L2 EVSE charger did you get? I'm lucky that my circuit breaker electrical box is on the outside side of my garage so it was easy for me to add a 40A 240v circuit breaker and cable to reach the other side of the garage to a 240V 30A L2 EVSE unit I installed there.
With an EV, be sure to practice being able to access the 12v battery with an external jump starter battery in case if it ever gets discharged. I always keep a portable small 12v jump starter device in an EV for emergencies. Some EVs had issues where their small 12V battery would get discharged overnight sometimes and the car relies on that for everything, can't turn it on, open power doors, etc. without it. I've seen from the owner's manuals that Teslas with the frunk have a special way to access wires to the 12V battery for a jumpstart in an emergency if the 12V power is dead.
what you are eluding to is the Hyundai ionic 5 ev problem. with tesla they are usually good for 30000 miles, with the new 2022 model y, they have the better 12v battery. Just in case there is a round removable plastic piece on the front bumper for towing that when you remove it, you will find 2 wires that you can jump
I don't close doors only trunk. The newer models may close frunk soon too. Ours is manual. That should be a standard feature as the frunk is annoying to close.
Tesla solar panels for your house 🏡 to charge your car 🚗 and house 🏡, what would be the price and would the electric ⚡️ company owe you money 💰 every month for putting more energy into the grid ? EV car 🚗 buyers might want to know this information prior to purchase?
@@btheconsumer If you reversed time, would you have opted for the long range? Totally see that the added acceleration may be fun, but besides that, would you still go performance? For me, it looks more slick with the red calipers but living here in Colorado where I'll be having some snowy days, wonder if the performance will be worse?
Great video. I would like to know more about the buying experience, namely since the purchase appears to be exclusively online how exactly does that work transferring money to purchase your vehicle? Maybe this sounds like a weird question but normally when you buy something online you give your credit card info and it bills your card, but with a big purchase like this how does that work, for down payments, payments, etc.Do you give Tesla your bank info and it is automatically withdrawn, or is it some form of Pay Pal, how does the transfer of money work? From what I understand you have to make a deposit and then make a down payment or first payment. I would really like to get a detailed account of buying a Tesla online. Really interested in buying a Tesla but uneasy with this type of buying process as opposed to going into a dealer and giving them a check or dealing with someone face to face. A video or any advice on how this unusual process works would be greatly appreciated.
The 250 was paid at the tesla store after we test drove. We traded in so the difference of what they owed us was reduced from the loan. Tesla offer was legit and financing was done 2 weeks before delivery. Since it was delayed the trade in reduced $200, and that money was paid at delivery. So I assume the down payment would be as well. Haven't paid first payment yet haha. Maybe I should take it back. 😜
Do you have the patience to do normal driving range checks? If not, it’s totally understandable to have the most fun you can with that acceleration. I’m curious is the performance really does suffer from the range like some reports hint at. Also, do you plan to add any protection film or do you not see the need?
Hey Corey, it definitely kills the range a little to floor it but it's not happening that often with the fam in car. I don't think I will get the wrap as it's about $5k. We made room in garage and took the gym into the house so we don't have the car baking in the sun
