Wonderful video! Thank you for posting - That plastic thing in the frunk is actually a gasket to keep our water, dust and reduce noise from things being jostled around in the frunk!

I don't get why Tesla is cutting costs like the no auto-dimming mirrors. It's a 50-60k dollar car and should come with these premium features. It's really disappointing.

Thanks for the secrets. Rear mirrors with auto dimmer is an essential security feature on night drive. Elon say all time security first. I am really surprise that Tesla as remove it...

One more thing Tesla Raj. If you're reading this...is it possible to show us a video of how it looks like putting your kid into the car seat? (maybe don't use your kid as a test but maybe a pillow or something!).. if not I'll wait for our local Tesla stores to have a Model Y in their showroom..just want to see how much easier it is versus Model 3. Hello mate, Congrats on your show. Just a heads up the main reason behind the front trunk foam on the hood is due to water infiltration. While driving, through the front grill and while parking from the windshield. PS: the cooler idea right now doesn't work that effectively (maybe 2 hours tops) due to missing foam on the interior ring... Thermodynamik: You shouldnt have direct contact between metal hood and your precious cooled beers. 😉😉 Enjoy the great rides friend😁

Our 2001 PT Cruiser had a drawer under the passenger seat. We used it to hid all sorts of stuff. Looking forward to 3rd party accessories to use some of this space. Also I wonder if someone will create an insulation pad for the frunk?

Tesla learning and improving their cars as they go! I'm liking the magnetic visors. Great feature for many years of use that won't break unlike the traditional visor holders!

Apparently, the pedestrian warning system isn't required until this fall. Looks like a lousy spot to have the warning system-a perfect place for water intrusion.

Good job! I'm wondering, if the new front hood reduces the injuries of pedestrians? Maybe it allows a little bit of space to reduce the impact.

As usual Raj, a very well done and informative video! FYI, in the RU-vid video by DaERik when he took apart his Model Y front trunk to show the heat pump he looked for the speaker in the front and found nothing there but there is a wiring harness electrical connector to add the speaker later. Also, there is a label by the heat pump that has information on the Model Y including that it has the same 74 KW battery pack as the Model 3!

DAErik removed the frunk liner. There is no speaker but it looks like the wiring connector is there.

With the back seats folded down, how far is it from the back of the tailgate to the back of the front seats? Meaning how tall does it support someone camping in the back?

Ray--Thanks, again-- I learned a lot. However, in all fairness you should also mention the one negative "secret": the lack of homelink in the Y. Yes, you can get it for $300 post delivery but you need to take it to a service center for installation! What a hassle and what an expense. It would be impossible to find another car in this price range without homelink as standard equipment. Could you ask Tesla why they did this? The only acceptable excuse is the lack of equipment availability. Otherwise, I think Tesla owes all the Y buyers an apology.

Picked up my model Y performance 2021 model and it dose have auto dimming mirror.

Model Y has auto-dimming side mirrors now.

My cheap VW Golf basic rental car has triple seals and it’s a very solid door closure sound.

Magnetic visor...every Model Y review seems to be pointing that out. Kinda cool I guess. zomg...door sound, means nothing...enuff already. Different model, different sound, duh. Next! Speaker vent/Tesla logo, pretty cool factoid. Seat height...cue old French fries and crumbs. :) Frunk seal, seems odd. Presume that there is engineering reason behind that choice, would love to know what it is. Just seems to be overkill. No side mirror auto-dimming. Charging more, taking features away?! Principally, if Model 3 has feature then Model Y should have it. Tesla why you chintzing us like like that?! Pedestrian warning speaker...Interesting! Excellent secret! *thumbs up!* *SIGNIFICANT* points that should be covered... *Ground clearance*. Modest at best. But relatively inferior to other SUV/CUV whatever. At this price point, don't make me settle. With Model Y, we're forced to settle. Even $39k cybertruck will have option to change height. *Rear view mirror*. Terrible viewing due to that gargantuan cross beam position. Really poor rear view which is surprising given ALL THAT GLASS! Tesla, explain. Better yet, IMPROVE!!! *No Towing*. WTF?!!! Major draw back. Again, at this price, heck in this segment...no towing is a major gap. Tesla has some splaining to do. No, a must do improvement required!!! I'm a Tesla fan, and thankful that they are changing the world in a positive way! But...drinking the Kool-Aid is not helpful. Constructive criticism is constructive! And still needed. Peace.

Vent under the seat? What's that for?

Regarding the side mirrors. In your video it looks like they are flat but they should actually be a little convex and gradually more so to the sides to give a good field of view. If it is flat like it looks to be in the movie, is it the same on all Teslas? I have never owned a car with falt side mirrors but I can imagine the field of view gets really cramped and you have a big blindspot.

Like the model y. Most of teslas issues are related to the build quality and not the drive train. If they figure those issues out they'll be one of the most reliable car brands

That child seat install looks very suspect. Is almost the entire base off the bottom of the seat?

No auto-dimming mirrors? That seems like a ridiculous loss of an option considering even the most basic cars have this some as standard.

Five inches....see size does matter.

Can you please check if the rain water pours into the trunk when you open it? It is an issue with model 3, AFAIK. This is not a big deal for Californians, but it’s a pretty serious design flaw for people living where it rains often.
