Following the Tesla Holiday update that contains the infamous Tesla recall, Tesla owners are getting suspended for a week at a time for not following proper safety procedures.
I had never been so frustrated! Even the lane beeping pisses me off but this new update was too much! I covered the interior camera and seems to be much better now
They don't give us the ability to not update the vehicle! Some charging stations have wifi which automatically update your car for you, eventually your car will do the update itself
@@isthatmannyofcyou can turn wifi off so it won't connect to the charging station's wifi. I've had mine off for a month and definitely won't turn it back on to receive this update.
Tesla owner here….. very annoyed bc it has started SCREAMING AT ME to “pay attention to the road” almost immediately after I turned it on. You can’t even look at the screen/radio or anything else for that matter without it beeping at you. Within 1 minute of me turning AP on today, it kicked me out…. Wasn’t even on my phone. Also - I didn’t get the “pop up” message until I got home and put the car in park. So, the people whom are posting them online are most likely PARKED as well (and not still driving). Very annoying and if I get kicked off AP for minor inconveniences such as what occurred today, then what’s the point of even having a Tesla.
My problem with the Tesla auto pilot is that it's too sensitive. Even if I look away or I'm changing the next song it strikes me. One time I suddenly got struck all because I looked into my rear view mirror we're a humor then then on the monitor to make sure it was safe to turn before I activated my turn signal
@@supergrafxengine4620 No duh, FSD is a scam. Musk's been lying and selling snake oil for years. Tesla cars do not have the hardware needed for FSD. At best it's a fancy cruise control. That's why Musk is trying to shift responsibility onto the drivers. That's why I ask what's the point of this autopilot.
Imagine how many plane crashes there'd be if airplane autopilots did this while the pilots takes their hands off the controls to reference checklists, navigational charts, etc.
@@ralanham76 In the airlines, yes. However, cargo planes, small planes, business jets, helicopters, etc. are commonly single pilot. There are far more planes flown with one pilot than two.
For the majority of flights, pilots do not have their hands on the controls, and autopilot does the flying. One pilot must be in the cockpit, and be awake, is the only stipulation for commercial operators.
@@BrownDaddy007 Correct, except that they must also be sober, and some companies require two people in the cockpit at all times, so if a pilot needs to exit the cockpit for any reason another flight crew member must be in the cockpit until that pilot comes back.
Wait. Tesla has internal cameras? And NO ONE finds that fucking disturbing? Not to mention software that could potentially lock you out if they deem you're not using the vehicle "correctly" ? Nah. Fuck that shit.
I promise you, the strikeouts are more common than the egregious things that you’re saying. But I really do appreciate that you lecture us like children. crap, I used a negative tone… I should probably be suspended from RU-vid for seven days too. This is some of the grossest overreach I have ever seen. I spend $80,000 on the car and then they bait and switch the functionality. What happens if there’s a report that Tesla drivers drive faster than the average driver? New update Tesla is no longer let you drive over 55 mph. It’s the same principal. The whole thing is absurd. This car went from a car that I love to a car company that I wish I never bought from. #tesla
100%. I don't think the 5 strike suspension was on the NHTSA - I think that was 100% Tesla throwing stuff at them to get approval ASAP. I think it's too much. My next car was going to either be an X or CT, but now I'm looking at other options.
This new update really makes the car suck to drive. I don't even look at my phone or anything and it constantly nags me. I can't even look at the map for 3 seconds without being nagged. All this is going to accomplish is make the cars less safe because people who participate in unsafe activities are going to do it regardless of the nag.
Stupidly you now need to turn off autopilot to do map navigation. Less safe and extremely annoying and frustrating experience. I hate this and it is not what I bought.
@@JeremyIrving1 yup spot on. This is making the cars less safe. I saw someone who said they will just turn off AP if the want to use their phone while driving as well.
I have full self driving and now I don't even use it I can't even change the station on my Pandora because the car will fucking annoy the shit out of me and there's no Pandora on the screen it is totally pointless and it also seems like the car wants to crash more often a lot more them before
my annoyance right now is cruise control also disabled. understand autopilot function disabling but not to offer possibly a speed set limit to make sure that speed isnt exceeded when pressing on accelerator(especially when you have another 650km of driving to go). Plus it doesnt stop you from using touchscreen when warning flash up- that in itdelf is borderline dangerous!
Oh hell no! I currently drive an older vehicle that only has cruise control, and I use it all the time so I can keep my focus outside the vehicle instead of watching the speedometer.
Nonsense. The whole auto pilot basically does not do much more than the adaptive cruise control I had on my Mercedes and Volkswagen. With tesla, you have to make quite a big move for the system to accept that you are really paying attention. And then sometimes you're just too late. By then, it's already irritating that you have to stop. Putting your car in p-mode to use cruise control again. What tesla does is patronising. What is tesla interfering with. Let them really fix that cruise control first. If this measure doesn't come off, this will be my last tesla. Ridiculous! And also ridiculous that this is accepted by some tesla drivers. Or being stated as: how good of tesla.....
Lost my autopilot because the 5 times rule (own now 3 weeks a brand new tesla) 3 times i was testing the system to see how the system reacts when i do stuff when driving. The camera in the car facing to you is the problem, when you do stuff on the screen the system is in panic mode “keep your eyes on the road” but there is no audio warning. I lose 1 time because i was looking on the screen to setup the navigation system for a supercharger. When you blind the camera in the car the “keep your eyes on the road” is not there any more, and still autopilot works. What also not working very well is the “keep you hands on the steering wheel” when you driving in a straight way and you got your hands on the wheel the there is alot of message to wobble the wheel, you drive in a straight way! Why the fucking hell would you want to wobble the wheel when there is no curve in the road.
I found wearing sunglasses magically puts the car at ease as well and messing with the screen isn’t as much of an issue. Did you get your AP strikes reset and how long did it take?
It’s odd that I paid so much money for a fully self driving feature, only to find myself doing all the “full self” things lol😂. I literally cannot do anything other than look straight ahead while I watch the car drive. Very annoying indeed.
How are you going to sell it for a reasonable price? I’m stuck with a huge loan and concerned that I can’t sell it for nowhere near what I still owe with the price drops, and will also be without a car. How are people addressing this?
I leave my hand at the 9pm steering wheel position like most people When the car turns itself am I supposed to somewhat let go to not impede the turning or do I still need to apply pressure/weight while the car turns itself?
I wouldn’t say at all…. Mine has problems at night day is fine for the most part but at night I think it can’t see my face or something it’s very annoying
@@ARCHIVEDangelscroll don’t even work like that. I got 2 strikes cuz I was trying to use the scroll wheel instead of the wheel and it didn’t work both times. Both scroll wheels I was appalled
funny thing is i got 2 strikes on autosteer beta while i was simply staring at the road and lightly touching the steering.. the warning flashed and i was wrestling with the steering to give it that extra tug.. that worked but the next time i never even got the warning but it just gave me a strike.. :( i dont use my phone while driving and am focused on the road.. if lightly touching the steering doesnt count then what is the point of autosteer..
The car suspended me for looking at the screen of the car. On the same driving I got three times phadom braking, where I had to accelerate not to cause an accident! I will sell this stupid car and make sure none of my friends will buy a tesla! Congrats Elon.
Mercedes version is getting updated this yr. Where you won't have to look apart attention or tug on the wheel! It will only require you to have the seatbelt on. Smfh
Just because we can doesn't mean we should. Eventually we're going to have steering wheel breathalyzers that will prevent driving if hand sanitizer was used recently.
Tesla FSD keeps giving me a false strike even tho my hands are on wheel. and sometimes when im looking at my passenger briefly. and couple times when the car hits a road dip especially before a bridge or tunnel. It's annoying and unreal.
I understand it's supposed to fix a problem who mess around, but my left hand is almost always on the wheel and no phone used and it telling me to jerk the wheel every 10 minutes despite my full grip on the wheel. I'm all for autopilot, but I'll never trust a car over myself entirely and that's why my hands are on the wheel all the time, but the latest update has been very irritating and defeats the purpose of autipolit if I keep getting distracted by the screen telling me to jerk the wheel over and over again every 10 seconds to a minute.
I just got a ‘24 model 3 and it’s extremely naggy. Open highway and no one in sight and god forbid I look at the screen trying to decide which super charger to go to. Cut me out for the rest of the trip. They went way overboard with this $hit
The only thing i hate when i use my fsd was when it trying to change lane but suddenly steer back to the lane for no reason even if the car on that lane was like 5-6 car lengths away,,, so annoying
I kind of miss my RAV4 adaptive Cruise control + Lane maintain. At least with RAV4, I can quickly look at my message to see if they decide to cancel the event or relocate it. I don't need fancy self-driving. I just want the car to maintain the current speed safely on the highway. The subscription went down to $99 a month. I think that is a smart idea to use the subscription because this way you can just cancel it next month if Tesla keeps doing this. No other car manufacturer is doing this. Plus there could be months that you won't need self-driving, so for those months you can just stop your subscription. Think about it. You're paying $12,000 for full self-driving which is bound to your car. So when you buy a new car because the old one had an accident, you won't be able to take it with you. After 8 years the battery warranty is gone anyway.
since the last update, my autopilot and even cruise control has become so useless because without road lights it won't maintain the speed limit. I guess they stopped using radar, how stupid
The whole point of autopilot is prevent crashes and other distraction anomalies. It's stupid asf they still have you drive normally instead of perfecting the autosteer feature ! FULL SELF DRIVING is literally supposed to mean FULL SELF DRIVING not partially self driving. Especially at no $12-15k depending on you bought into it. Smfh
I loved the free FSD until it suspended me for a week, I work in real state and I am getting texts all the time, it is annoying to get a warning every time I get a Quick Look to my phone
Here's my problem: I have painful osteoarthritis in my hands. In my first Tesla I had no problem but in my new Y the amount of pressure/torque required has increased such that I cannot squeeze that hard without a lot of pain. In addition, since my hands are painful how I use my hands has changed and my grip strength has decreased. Tesla will not make some accommodation for my disability and they will not take the car back so I could buy a different make that uses driver eyes to be sure they are paying attention. Tesla Autopilot was 2:00 a great help to me on long trips esp. bec of my hand disability. But the new software modification which I was not warned about at purchase in December has made long trips painful and grueling and ultimately I lose it altogether even though my hands are on the wheel!!!
So if I have to sit in a Tesla hold the steering wheel and look at the road I don’t need Autopilot….Elon and the team has basically accepted their defeat. When I trade in my Tesla I can consider other vehicles now
@@saltydog9321 yes people are dumb to not connect the volume button to autopilot , yes it also works with the speed control but nags you in next few seconds….
My Toyota does a great job It bumps me into the center of the lane without more than a couple beeps and it can do that all the way across country trips. It warns me if I'm about to hit someone. It's just a right amount of involvement.
This feature is outrageous for this reason. We have 4 drivers in the family and yesterday my son managed to get the 5th warning and now disabled for a week. Major issue is I have a 2000+ mile road trip this week and I am punished with no FSD for my whole week of driving across the country. So I the person who paid for this car and the owner who could use this when driving for up to 8+ hours in a single day has to do it the old fashion way. We were just about to buy another Tesla for the family but have put the order on hold. We are now going to look around as other manufactures at least are not doing this for basic features like auto steer. You could at the least for what I paid leave basic lane keep features enabled that would be at the least helpful for a fatigued driver. I am sure in the future some sleepy driver will go off the road due to his auto steer being disabled and a lawyer will find a way to say Tesla was responsible for his injuries or death due to this simple feature being disabled. Issue I have is this is something we paid for so that long trips would be safer and less tiring.
Fake News : Juge Reid Scott declared the Tesla faulty and misleading Mercedes has certified level 3 FSD in their production cars (Tesla is stuck at lower level 2 FSD).
I paid 60,000 for my Tesla model Y that shit better be buying my groceries for that amount of money. Nobody was pulling Elon’s leg about how good the auto pilot feature was the reason I bought my car was for the auto pilot.
Sorry this video is bogus. You obviously haven’t used the new checks. The new system doesn’t make it safer at all. You can fail checks due to watching the road instead of noticing the check on the screen. Additionally, it takes an enormous amount of turning wheel back and forth to pass the check. Half the time it will turn off self driving due to moving the wheel too much.
It’s giving me the nag while changing the fan settings. Fuck this. I’m turning in the car real shit. Three months left on the lease I’m done with this dumb sss company. Cooking the battery to 100% every day until I turn it in too
Dumbest update ever. It SUCKS. You can't even look at your screen without being warned to pay attention. So fucking annoying. Does Tesla have the legal rights to this? A feature you have fully paid for?
@@isthatmannyofcyou can always use the touch screen on the car and take quick glances, it’s only a few taps. I also utilize tesla’s voice commands and verbally write reply’s to texts this way. There is no reason to be playing with your phone while driving the car when the screen offers all of the options if you have your phone paired to the car properly.
Even if you are looking at the road on a straight road it will now throw a loud warning EVERY TIME you turn it on. You have to juggle the wheel on a straight road to try to prevent that insanely annoying beep. Total failure.
