You did an amazing job navigating the very real human processes in arranging to have your vehicle towed and repaired. Each step you were thoughtful of not only your own predicament but also of the context the different services were under in greeting your request. That may be less of a skill as it is a superpower. Way to go!
Hi joy sorry that happened. The latch probably needs to be adjusted. Same thing happened to me to my drivers door except it was the reverse. The door unlatched but wouldn’t open. So I went back to the collision center and they unscrewed the latch with a t30 and moved it over a little and closed perfectly. I had some rubber on the old door for sound dampening so probably contributed since the new door panel didn’t have it. Also how’s the new lights, more or less bright
Hang in there Joy! You will have it resolved. One small advice is after they finish work on your car, check everything to make sure it’s working properly. Good luck.
We learned a lot from your experience, even though it wasn't fortunate. Thanks for sharing the details. I’ll never drive during the weekend anymore (just kidding). : )
I wonder how much of this is due to body shops not having an understanding about repairing EVs. I know it’s a “”Tesla approved” shop but due to there just aren’t many people trained on this Tesla can’t be too picky
Its a fuse most likely. I doubt its bodyshop accident related, but the charger has blown a fuse or two. It prevents the doors on a tesla from closing or locking, or the opposite, the doors lock and wont unlock. Thats a real problem unless you have a windows down! Its also possible its the mechanical latch too and/or fuses.
AAA is your answer for all your towing needs. Why deal with insurance for all that bs? Not only that, AAA will tow any car that you're in whether it's yours or not. I've used AAA for other people more than myself. 85 bucks a year. Can't beat it.
I know you want to show how long the car will last but you should just lease the base Model 3 redesign and share that experience with your audience. We would love your thoughts on it and it can be a business expense for the RU-vid channel.
Haha, that's harsh especially when Joy never whined about it. I was nervous when Joy reported the issue was debris related while trying to remove the glue residue. 😅(The decorative adhesive looked fine and intact before the repair.)
Joy thank you so much for sharing your experience. It was so helpful to know I am not the only one that sometimes think the worst when it is a simple fix.
