This message is just as much for me as the viewer. While we have been watching the shiny object (the steel erection & roof panels) much work has been progressing in other areas.
You can see the scale of the building at 7:15 by the size of the people below the roof. Lots of room for robotics and overhead material handling. Material for production will be delivered very near the point of use from the shipping containers/trailers.
Thank you Mr.Zanegler for sharing your videos! Can you speak to why sometimes the roof appears to be blue and then from another perspective white? Is that a coating on the panels? Much apprecated. Greetings form Vancouver, Canada
I noticed that its still dirt floors under the structure. I'm assuming it will be filled in with concrete at some point, but I wonder if its common to build buildings that way or if that's just Tesla being Tesla?
I thought it had already opened earlier this summer in very limited production and was scaling up heading into 2025? 🤔 I think dle is the way to go anyways not rock based lithium mining&refining.
I commented previously that I have my doubts that is a roof. (I am an architect 60 years old in South Africa). These are my thoughts… it is flat, roofs are sloped (go look at the ‘legacy’ factory more closely). The side braces are very robust, more like what is needed to keep it still while concrete is poured. There are a lot of what you call trusses - more like what I would expect to see used as floor joists. The machine called the mezmaster would suggest it is for constructing mezzanines - otherwise it should be called roofmaster. Lastly, look at the pattern of up things on the ‘roof’. They need a closer look as I expect some kind of pockets if my concrete hypothesis is correct. I could be wrong of course, but thought I would share my thoughts for what they are worth. And thanks for all your work.
