I saw Tesseract for the fifth time in Nottingham on this tour and it was absolutely the best gig I've ever been too. And the crowd was way crazier than at this gig, there was a mosh pit for every song including April. I hope I see them again a million times.
I was front row for this, hands down the best live band performance I've ever seen. Have loved these guys for years and was so nice to be able to briefly speak to Dan afterwards. So glad he's back! Can't wait to see you again :)
I just gotta say - you guys rock our world. And while there's plenty of conversation over Tesseract's front man / vocalist history, I'm sure they would agree: Acle, James, Amos and Jay - you guys are fucking incredible. Hope you ALL are feeling the love and appreciation.
Nick Loper I believe because the sound isn't taken from the output, i don't know how to explain it but the sound is simply recorded into the recording device.
Nick Loper It's certainly because the DVD production isn't finish yet. The first phase in the post-production of a DVD is the video editing. The audio-mixing is the last phase of production before the thing is release. I'm pretty sure that the final version will be waaay better. And sorry for my bad english.
Alex Martellino i have seen that happen before. Dream Theater released an iffy live clip, then they later changed it and re uploaded it. the 2nd upload was the one that was on the dvd.
Phil Clarke He's 17 years old. I know him. His name is Pete and he suffers from Werner Syndrome which makes him age faster than everyone else. People make that mistake all the time but he's cool with it. Cheers mate!
You know what's beautiful about this mix? It's so easy to forget that it's live. There are some telltale signs that it is which further leaves in awe... But just in general; this really feels like I'm listening to a newer version of One.
Comencé a escuchar esta banda hace unos meses atras y quedé asombrado sobre todo con el trabajo que hicieron en "One", Quisiera que en un futuro vengan a argentina pero es muy complicado. Sin dudas unos maestros del Djent!
If you thought this video was good, wait until you see them live. I've seen them like 4 or 5 times now, and they've gotten better and better each time; and the crowd has gotten more, and more intense. People LOVE Tesseract.
Props to Tesseract, this is a beautifully recorded performance. Small mistakes in the performance convince me that it's 100% live audio too, which is awesome. It's a bit of a shame that they completely cut the crowd audio out though, makes it seem more like a live-in-studio recording.
This video's sick and Dan's probably the best singer on Earth but I don't why with all Tesseract live videos they put out, it's like it hardly even sounds live with all the backing tracks and what sounds like direct to line guitars/bass. Put some audience mics I don't know
I've been waiting a live DVD for so long... It's such a shame to not get the live sound on this. Now please don't get me wrong, I love every single piece of art you have released guys, I really cherich them!! But I hate the sound on live DVD's on these days... For an isolated performance I would prefer Sphere Studios with Acle and Amos on mixing. With that said, I'm still getting a copy of this! just can't avoid it! P.S: PLEASE COME DOWN TO SOUTHAMERICA AND MEET A REAL CROWD!!!
feels weird not hearing anything from the crowd :s but anyway looks so incredible hot in there haha still wish i could have gone but had to sell my tickets :'(
Acle Kahney Can I ask you why you couldn't mix it yourself? It's kind of strange considering that you're an excellent mixing engineer. Altered State is one of the best sounding album I've listen to.
There is a couple things to do with a mix. In my opinion: 1) If we take into consideration tone of an instruments - too much bass, bass drum, not many of electric guitar. 2) Equalization - if it is possible, lower 65 Hz of - 3 dB, 93 Hz of - 2 - 2,5 dB. These things are the major elements which I see to correct them Everything it is just suggestion, my personal opinion, with no offence ;)
Snare sounded better at the venue. I think. Obviously a different live mix there than afterwards for a dvd release. Not that it sounds necessarily bad. Don't know what kind of snare muffling Jay normally uses, or even if he ever does but had to for this show. But this video intro of Deception was so exciting and when the song kicked in I guess I was expecting a different kind snare blast. No worries. Drum bass sounds really good, though. I reeeally liked being at the show.
Is there a particular reason why they have released these songs for the 3rd time? They were on the Concealing Fate EP and the One album. Is it just because of the new vocalist? Not complaining, just curious...
Rory O'Neill Yeah, as many "DanWasBetteract" people there are, I personally prefer Ashe. It might be the fact that a lot of people get a nostalgiac kick out of Dan where I basically got into Tesseract because of Altered State. I just prefer Ashe's voice, they're both equally talented if you ask me.
Todd Anderson I dunno...I'm not a big fan of AShe's voice but he sounded better on Altered State than Dan did on One...HOWEVER....Dan is probably embarrassed at that performance because he is absolutely outstanding on the 2 Skyharbor albums and sounds soooo much better than he did on One so The Oddysey and Scala will be really interesting.
Yeah, when I first heard Dan I was like there can be no voice better than his but then I came across Ashe and he just fucking destroyed my eardrums. Ashe in my opinion has more 'feel' as opposed to Dan who is more versatile. That's what I concluded
Damn a great performance! However the kick is way up front it covers all the guitars. It should definitely be dialed down in the final mix, maybe a tad more compression would't hurt either. Awesome band! :)
