btw Naomi: there is the possibility to use amazon's affiliate links; whenever someone buys a product (here: the mixing ball) using the link you provide (e.g. in your video description), you get a small amount of money. The price for the buyer (here: viewers) is not increased. This is win-win:-win: you get money, we get a direct link without an increased price, the seller sells products. Note: you need to clarify that such an affiliate link is an affiliate link for which you receive money. Just check out a view other channels that do this and you will see what I suggest.

A wargaming store owner who's been giving me painting advice to noob me suggested using this along with Hexwraith Flame to create a yellow-green Warpflame effect, and I the results were STUNNING. I tried it first on an Exalted Flamer with Corax White base, hitting it with the Tesseract Glow and then adding more and more layers of Hexwraith towards the end of the flames for the yellow to green gradient. I couldn't be happier with the results, it looks phenomenal.

Thanks for this video. I was on the fence about this paint, but seeing the results you got made up my mind. This paint is fantastic. I used to, painfully, go from Dark Angels green (old paint) to Warpstone glow to Moot green and now I get a better effect, faster, with Vallejo Dead white and Tesseract Glow. Now I want to re-paint all my old Necrons with it.

Howdy! I'm a new subscriber, commenting for the Aug 21st Indomitus drawing. I've shared your channel on facebook, and it felt right to comment on the first video of yours I saw. I've been a Necron player since 6th edition, and so I came across this video while brainstorming the color scheme for my upcoming new additions to my necrons, but I've been in the hobby for about 18 years now. I never expected I'd enjoy painting as much as I have, and your videos have been fantastic for ideas and techniques! I have to say my favorite painting memory is starting off with my first army, the Tau. I make an off-the-cuff decision to color code my squads, putting a line of color on their guns to denote their squad. It's my favorite memory because of all the painting I've done since, that one choice is the one that I still get compliments on today.

Yay! Finally something informative about this paint, unlike the official videos that don't really tell you anything about it beyond its basic hue. I can see this working well for green flames if you let them dry upside-down. That said, kind of a misleading name, yeah, but since GW never pointed out any sort of actual (fluorescent) glow effect when they demonstrated the paint, I've already had weeks to make peace with it most likely being yet another not-quite-Shade, not-quite-Contrast paint in their Technical range, which it indeed turned out to be. Anyway, I may end up using it for some glowing eyes or cracks (in skin or ground), but large areas not so much.

I hope I'm not to late, but I have completed your two quests I have subscribed and shared your channel on Facebook. Now for the completion of your third quest. My favorite painting memory was when I painted my very first miniatures. It was a ork loota squad that my older brother got me for my 15th birthday. I spent a hour assembling my loota squad. I fell in love with the hobby on the spot. But I had no paints for them, so they sat there for months waiting to be painted, untill it was Christmas were I couldn't sleep my mind filled with thoughts of orky goodness. So I went out of my room to find all of my siblings and parents awake at 3 am. So they let us go through our stockings. What lay in mine? About a dozen paints and 3 brushes. I was so excited I grabbed my lootas and got painting. I spent 2 hours painting them with my older brother. I never had so much fun painting anything before or since.

But one of the places I think it'll really shine is on recessed glowing details, including eyes and stuff like the whorling designs on Sylvaneth. I have completed the first two tasks! Since this video was Necron flavored, it's fitting to drop my painting anecdote here. It wasn't until I quit caring about being super precise that I finally *got* edge highlighting. I kept trying to make the edges super thin and barely even touched and it just never looked right. Once I got frustrated and let the edge be a bit rougher on my first Cryptek, I noticed that it actually looked pretty good! Looked more weathered and scratched up. Loved the effect so much, I applied to everything I could touch... Which may have been slightly overkill.

If you want another way to do that, use a water effect resin (the GreenStuff World is perfect for this purpose, and you can use it for drops, puddle, etc.) then pass a heavy coat of Nurgle's Rot (Blood for the Blood God works wonders too). It will get the colour of green bile, but also maintain a lucid effect. If you make a drop (by using a string of nylon), it will also be semi-transparent.

Be interesting to see it over a dry brushed area as it seems dependent as to what's underneath. If it blends and tidies up dry brushing and pools in the recesses where you want it might help a very quick dirty dry brush.

When I was in high school, the Lord of the Rings trilogy movies were coming out and I was really into Dungeons and Dragons. I bought the Lord of the Rings paint set for the Men of Gondor to use as miniatures for D&D. I painted up a few soldiers with the included starter brush which is how I learned that you can get a lot of detail using a dry brushing technique. When I got to painting the eyes, the starter brush was not sharp enough, so I bought a #000 brush from my local hobby shop. When I showed the soldiers to my friends they thought I painted the eyes with a single hair! LOL! I still have these soldiers to this day, and I have them displayed on my desk at work. Still looking good almost 20 years later!

I was pondering/wondering what that color would look like applied direct to a blank surface and I now realize I can use a napkin but dirty-ing a brush un-motivates me. I got that color for some necrons intended for use but the tesseract glow is too thin and does not meet the requirements I had demanded. So looking for new colors to color necrons. The tesseract glow and some other colors would be nice for tyranids and I intended to apply that to a tyranids color palette. But is not compatible with necrons at least not for my standards. But great for the tyranids. Thanks for showing.

A nice experimental video Thank you for this. I would be interested if GW did the same with an orange colour considering some Necrons were given that colour years ago in a Forge World publication.

It seems like this would work well for dripping into the glowing slots in Necron objects like Iike Immortals' gauss blasters. For stuff like Necron power cables, it seems you'd want to turn the model upside down so that the paint pools at the base of the cable, not the outer curve of the cable. And maybe over a light paint like Ushabti Bone to get yellow at the lighter part on the outside curve of the cable.

That looks liek the old Scorpian Green I have from back around 1998. I still have a bottle of that paint. It is kinda thin and ended up drying with a gloss finish.

Do you think the Glow might work on one side of a blade for the poisonous look or would it be unbalanced?

Huh, it's made for glow effects, but from what you've showed us this seems far better suited to painting leaves, vines and other naturally green colours.

Well the new necrons actually use a lot of it for hyperphase with some other on top, though not for cables

@@clinch4402 Well, it's got that really good flowing from dark to light that natural leaves have, and it seems to work like an absolute charm on the Sylvaneth models we see here. Meanwhile, the glow on actual technology bit is rather... muted at best.

It was interesting. It's sort of like the Citadel Glaze paints from 2012 where they add the depth and richness to the existing colours while toning down the stark highlights, like what the Tesseract Glow has done to the Furies dagger and the Kurnoth Hunter's arrow. I'll get a pot to paint some of my models to see if I like them? Thank you for this video.

It's great glaze-based paint, I'll only do some of the paints. I prefer the normal basecoat, shade, layering and drybrushing mostly. With the glazes, it depends on the models I'm painting that I would like to see them being glazed and what part I would like to remade the same. I just wanted to add that to my previous comment a few minutes ago. Thank you.

I have started to use resin to make things and was wondering what it would do to a transparent piece. I did not see you put it on the barrel of that necron's weapon (I may have missed it), but it seems like it might "magic glow" more if light is passing through it. Great video; you have me some ideas.

I would actually love a similar paint but for blue (for Thokt dynasty Necrons), so I am really wondering how it's made. Anyone got any ideas if it's similar in composition to the 3 'ghost paints' ? Because I have seen some tutorials in how to make them and could probably replicate it but with a nice Azure blue.

I'd like to dry brush the white 1st or light colors, then dry brush the green for that glow👍

Thenks for experimenting with that paint. Can you maybe compare it to Vallejo green fluorescent paints?
