My dad’s first car was a ‘67 Buick Skylark 2-Door Hardtop. It was my great-grandfather’s and after his driving started getting worse and put a few big dents in it, he gave it to my dad. The original hubcaps were either stolen or thrown in the scrapyard so my dad put on those Buick rally rims. He also repainted the car and fixed any damage. Otherwise it was all original. Then my dad bought a ‘79 Trans Am after, but he never kept the VINs on any of his cars in a notebook or something so I doubt I’ll ever find the car. I’ve seen a lot of ‘65’s and & ‘68’s and up, but it’s very rare that I see a ‘67 going down the road. Thanks for sharing the video.
Very nice Buick Skylark !!!! My father would only drive Buicks !!!! He owned a 65 wildcat, a 72 LeSabre, a 78 regal, a 85 LeSabre !!!! I learned how to drive in the 78 regal !!!! I have owned one Buick, it was a 74 estate wagon !!!! 💯🇺🇸🦅🗽⚔️👍
My first car was a 66 Skylark that i bought for 125 $ in 1988. 340 with a 4 barrel carb and posi rear..missed that car...just bought a 67 skylark. 340 4 barrel bucket seat ac power brakes power steering. 68000 miles! picking it up this weekend!
I'm surprised that the Buick has a 10 bolt rear end instead of a 12 bolt with that 455 under the hood. My grandfathers Buick has a 12 bolt with 30 spline axles. His is a GS with the original 401 V8. You should see his 54 Roadmaster Skylark convertible. I love his story on why he bought it brand new. He got it to try and impress my grandma and to try and woo her into dating him which didn't work. Grandma said it was his personality and charm that got her. She said that had he just talked to her, he could have saved himself some money 😂.
My 2nd car was a really nice looking, freahly painted corvette yellow 72 skylark with a black top and black interior. Bought it from a local used car dealer for I believe $2600 in 1983. Had a 350 2v that I slightly modded with a aluminum edelbrock intake, small holly carb and dual exhausts. REALLY woke it up. I added crager mags and it really was a nice driving, cool car that you didn't see on every corner.........
67 Skylark. It had a painted or vinyl top from the factory due to the trim. If it was vinyl it would decode 1-2-4-9. The top could have been 1 White, Black, 4 Blue, Green.
That car looks lowered. Usually a bad combination when adding larger rear tires, hence the rubbing. I'm ole school, and would bring the ride height back to stock and slightly raise the rear. In other words, make it look like it would have looked in the 70's. NICE car for the price!! Ohh, and whoever buys this gem should replace that highly restrictive air cleaner assembly ASAP!!!
Would bet the rear-end has a 3.42 in it , if it feels like 45 but saying 75 thats how mine was easy fix for any transmission place could do but that happens with different gears plus having a non factory motor,, buick didn't put 455 in till 1970
*Psst:"that Area,of the paint issue, apparently is where the 'Lead Filler' was placed over the Welded Seam...& 50 ys later you begin to see it with thousands of hot/cold cycles"--}¡¿
Skylark or Special 🤔 decisions, decisions . Do both cars have the same size wheels and tires? My first car was a 64 Buick Special with the V-6 and 2 speed tranny. Not fast but fun.
@@cablrus1885 Buick never made a Powerglide trans. Buick had the 2 speed Super Turbine with the switch pitch converter. For 67 if you had a GS400 you could have the ST400 trans.
