@markpro96 I don't doubt your research, but I never saw a Mach 1 from that year without a Cleveland. I certainly never saw a Mach 1 with a 2 barrel carb. Of course, I was only 16 at the time, so they may have slipped a few past me.
In 1971 Ford completely redesigned the Mustang. You could still get a big block engine such as Boss 429 or Boss 351 as well as a 351 Cleveland. They were noticably larger cars than previous Mustsngs.
You’re definitely pulling at My heart strings with this one. 69 is of course My favorite, but this is a nice solid Mach 1 ! The idle circuit in the carb needs some attention for sure but that is nothing. That’s a nice one for sure! 👍👍🇺🇸Thanks Nick
I'm a second Gen Nova (68-72) guy but these big body Mustang Fastbacks from this era just scream 70's. This body style is growing on me...definitely completely different vibe from the 67/68 and the 69/70 eras. Exhaust on this one is a little shaky...
@@Trapper50cal the hood (only) on a 70 is 58” plus the cowl vent cover which is about 12”, my 71 convertible hood is 70”. I know it looks longer because of the hidden wipers but…the overall width was 3” wider and it gained 250 lbs
Nick, that's a beautiful Mustang. Its one of the nicest cars in your lot! I'm old and remember when those cars were new. If you lived up north, they would start rusting out before they were a year old. There aren't many left. Its not that far from being perfect. . It'll sell fast. Great price!
My dream is a 68 69 stingray with original side pipes. BB preferably. We just purchased a 1980 Carrera BB jet boat so we have that checked off the bucket list!
When it come out from the factory Nick the mirror was mounted higher, it's had a new windshield put in it and they moved the mirror down because it's easier to look out of the back window with the way it's Slants
I Appreciate your Honesty for your viewers & Buyers! I Just a bought 73' near Charlotte One week Before yours popped up. If I hadn't squeezed the trigger on that one I'd Takin that Red baby Home🎉
Beautiful example, of a 1972 Mustang Mach1! Looks really solid. I, own a 1972 Mach1, 351C. I, believe this one is worth really close, to the asking price. Even, with the base engine.👍
That is one beautiful car, my brother had one just like it, it had 351 Cleveland silver with red interior 4 speed, that's nice Nick 👍 PS Hey Nick, maybe you guys need to put some Heet in those old schools, because of water condensation build up from being outside.🏁🍷💯
I'm little late to see this very nice even with a few flaws and for the price it won't stay long I wish I had the money I would buy it and thou im still looking for a 76 f150 4wd with a 351 Or 302 dual exhaust keep up the good work and video's you do and God bless you and your family and friends
No comments on surge!! A lean condition will cause that, when you first drove it cold it will not show its head until the engine warms up.. just a carb overall, no biggie. By the way love watching these showings, to much, I want another toy.
I would really like to buy this one but my greatest taboo is the color red. Every vehicle I've ever own, barrowed. rented, or just as a passenger with the color red nearly killed me.
I'm sorry I told you a lie. My friend is one of the best mechanics on Fords and he told me they did and they didn't make many with 302 they were rare and I called it up and they did. So that was my fault. Sorry!!!
@@smkymtnguy33 yes it is but 302 motors are good motors and the 72 mach 1 is the only mach1 that come with the 302 is what it said. I've had 3 69 mach 1 and my brother had a 69 with 351 and my other brother had a 69 with a 390. The 390 would run.
This one needs a little body work, but not bad at all---overall, pretty solid. That's really saying something, because they didn't earn the nickname "Rustang" for nothing. I think someone put some new metal into this car, which is a good thing
Not disagreeing, but actually 72 was the first year of low compression engines running on low lead/ lead free gas. Big loss of horsepower compared to 71.
@@blotto3204but they run forever. Low compression 302 asked for a whole lot less attention then 351C in my experience. Great engines for daily driving or going on trips
