For the in depth review/tour of this vehicle click this link! • 1990 Chevrolet Caprice...
In this video I give a short tour and test drive of the 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I show the car idling as well as take it on a thorough test drive through the city and highway on various surfaces. A thorough drive of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Bob Jones lol exactly. I have a 2012 Focus now and I’m used to the floor shifter. But nothing beats a good ol’ bench and column shifter.

They need to bring column shifters back in the worst way
@MasterJim2020

Sometimes, I wish that my 2016 Ford Escape would have a column shifter. At least it still has the old fashioned hand crank for the e-brakes, instead of 1 of those weird electronic e-brakes. Ford decided to start putting those in the Escape when they came out with the redesigned model of the 3rd Generation, back in 2017.

I really wish we could still have vehicles these days with a squarish, rectilinear design. Even some more recent vehicles like the 2001 last-gen Jeep Cherokee XJ and the current Mercedes G-Class have boxy designs, it would be nice to see it make sort of a comeback.

I'm from Saudi arabia and I have Caprice 1988 classic. I feel like a king in the road no one is missing around when they see this heavy metal lol. ahhhh the only problem with this car is the gasolin that you need to re-full the tank again and again. but here in my country it's not that big problem. I hope the amrican manufacture find a way to rebulidd such car like that. im still inlove with this type cars. WE ARE NOW AT 2016 and this car in so often i see it in the road.

My first car was a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with 105k miles on the odometer. The car was 15 years old when I got it and in decent shape despite the headliner sagging. I regret selling it because Chevy doesn’t build them like that anymore. Honestly I would do anything to drive a car like that again.

@oDJOldskull
@oDJOldskull 8 лет назад
CzarPeppers I get what you mean. By my own will I've decided to purchase a 1989 Mercedes-Benz W201 190E 2.3 liter L4. I just didn't see myself with these newer stuff. Look even at the quality of seats made of leather for example. In the old times you had that plushy-cushy feeling just as you were sitting on a sofa. Nowadays they are so minimalistic and economic that it literally hurts your a$$. I can't find my spot in another car that I own - 2008 Volkswagen Golf V. It wants to be 'sporty' but the engine has only 75HP. It has 5 horrible gears with a long shifter that makes it impossible to call 'sport compact car'. Not to mention that evertyhing inside and outside looks so plastic and cheap for a 25 000 $ car. I regret. There were Buicks, Pontiacs... I don't know why I have chosen that VW crap. Sorry to the community for that mistake.
@czarpeppers6250
@czarpeppers6250 8 лет назад
Nice choice, those Mercedes are pretty great cars. I use to own a 1980 BMW 528i, and the leather seat were beautiful, with the kind of carpet on the floors you would have in a house. Very comfortable for such a small car with quite a punch. Not a super powerful car at 160hp, but considering their size they certainly aren't slow. I've also owned some of those big American cars from the 1980's, nothing they make today comes close to how comfortable those things are. I can be on the highway in one of those things for 12 hours straight and be as comfortable at the end of the journey as I was at the start of it. Right now I'm trying to get my hands on a 1988 Chevy Caprice wagon I found on craigslist. Since moving out into the country that's exactly the kind of car I want to be driving. Plus, a great car for a musician who needs to transport lots of equipment around.

actually older cars have better performance and last longer. less electronics and what not, and are easy to fix yourself should something go wrong. and because older vehicles are built stronger and better. they are actually safer than newer ones. real metal bumpers heaver frame. tougher means they can take more damage in an accident. so its a win win.
@ChiTownRuler023
@ChiTownRuler023 9 лет назад
Not sure who told you that but its a myth. They may have thicker sheet metal but thats about it. New cars are made to absorb a hit (crumple zones) to try to keep the cabin from getting crushed. Older cars like this pretty much only relied on bumpers, seat belts and air bags to keep you safe. Look up classic car vs modern car crash test. You would probably die in the classic and survive with a broken foot in a modern car.
@HELICOPTERmike7785
@HELICOPTERmike7785 9 лет назад
whatever you say pal. at least they looked a lot better doing it. iv got a mint all stock. 1984 Chevrolet caprice sedan. and I love her. cassette deck white walls all stock. 97500 original miles. cant beat that. at least they put real detail and craftsmanship on older vehicles man. its I big car man. and im sure if its tank of a frame don't do it. the big solid crome metal bumpers will. fuck those egg shaped cars with 22s they make now. fact older cars do last longer. and look good doing it. they really are easier to fix. electronic windows versus roll up windows. hum.
@ChiTownRuler023
@ChiTownRuler023 9 лет назад
+sgtdavidw My comment was about the safety of classic vs modern cars. Also never said it was unreliable or ugly either. Why would I be looking up cars that I think are ugly? I love classic cars, but most classic car owners know this and try not to drive on the free way. Yeah it will probably be ok in a head on collision at 10 or 20Mph but a head on collision at 55Mph and you are worm food vs a modern car where the same accident gets you some bruises and a broken foot. Classics are not safer then a modern car. My friends dad was hit in his 94 Impala SS in 2004 and got 4 broken ribs a collapsed lung a crack in his eye socket and lost his leg by a mom in her Ford Explorer who didnt see the stop sign because she was yelling at her kid in the back seat. Her and the kid walked away with cuts and bruises.
@ChiTownRuler023
@ChiTownRuler023 9 лет назад
+sgtdavidw Its ok though since he "looked better doing it" right? Im not saying random shit pal, its pretty much common knowledge but go on and keep believeing some lie a old person probably told you. Just compare new vs classic A pillars. No person will survive a roll over in a classic unless it had a roll cage installed.

Hi Kyle, I really enjoy your videos, but might I suggest using a head cam for 1st person shots? because then yo would have another hand free, and it is a bit better for the viewers because we get a clearer viewpoint.

man thats a clean car. i always like these cars and i remember when they were all over the place and rusting to death in the nasty buffalo climate. a sad sight really. what a nice car. wish they still built them like this. sadly they are mostly junk

Absolutely love this car. White in color with no vinyl top...just about as good as it gets! The only things missing are the 350LT1 engine and the 2 door option. My mom gave me her Chevy Caprice Classic and I put 260K miles on it.

Keep a consistent search for ads that show and tell everything worth checking out for the price. You only live once! This is how I found my cars.

My cousin is the reason why I bought one. He has a 89 I have a 86 but when I was young he worked as a graphic designer for red bull and lived by the ocean in Santa Monica and omg when I would visit and we would leave his apt garage. The look of people's faces. Made me want one.

You got a parking light out, your left signal indicator on the dash is glowing instead of blinking when you turn it on. Really nice car though. Are you sure it doesn't have 179K miles on it? The transmission seems to slip a lot from 1st to second.

@saabkyle04 Oh the irony of his username. But yes, GMs of that era had that little "system" where when you turned the lights on, if a turn signal bulb was blown out that indicator light would illuminate dimly.

Nice car! I always hated when GM started to equip the full sized Chevy, and Pontiac wagons with that 5.0L 307 (vin Y) engine from 86-90.

@Zach, the front turn signal is burnt out, on the older GM's when a bulb was out, the turn signal would not blink.
