*As much as we all like to be wealthy and as much as we love seeing awesome supercar/hypercars, I'm really appreciative when you also make videos of more affordable cars like these Tim. It would be great to see Suzuki Swift Sport, Mazda MX-5 and Toyota GT86 (although a facelift is coming soon). Thanks very much in advance.*
***** It wouldn't hurt to see different people's opinions on them though. Saabkyle04 doesn't really do testdrives too. Also some of those cars aren't available in USA. Finally, as Tim owns supercars, I'd like to hear his thoughts on cars of a different spectrum
I work at a BMW/Mini dealership in the states, and Mini is truly great brand. It's a brand that both petrolheads and non-petrolheads can enjoy. Go to a Mini event someday and you'll see why!
Actually only the first gen has bad reliability and build quality. Just get your ass into one and drive around a few nice roads and you'll know that there's a lot of bullshit talking going around in the internet ;)
Jesse D actually, at one Mini event I was at (Mini Takes the States) I saw a Mini that came from California (this checkpoint was in Pittsburgh) that was basically a Barbie car. Then I saw another Mini from New York with performance parts with a license plate that said "NOT CUTE". It's a unique range of personalities.
Willy Lamb Remember, maintenance is key. But Mini buyers care more about the heritage of the car, the style, the driving feel, etc. Reliability is boring :)
going with a jcw to the track this Thursday, on a small circuit it's more fun then the GT4 and to be honest, the JCW is an ideal daily driver for every car lover thanks to it's awesome frame which gives a stunning driving experience
Just wanted to say thanks for the video. I've been watching it over and over while I've been waiting the 3 months since I ordered my new JCW which I finally pick up later today. Waiting for it to get shipped across the pond and around through the Panama Canal has been torture. Thanks again.
thanks for all u produce Tim...i am one of the many that will appreciate as many car reviews as u can manage! lol. great to see u concentrate on real world sports cars. cheers. Lee.
I really like the fact that even though this is promoted content Tim doesn't fear to honestly mention any downsides of the car or whatever is being promoted
+shmee150 Try the Audi S1 if you want a real pocket rocket ;) 2.0T makes 250hp (231hp claimed) and has 4wd quattro 0-60 in around 5.2 seconds (5.8 claimed) 1315kg. Like the Mini it has drive modes: Eco,Auto and Dynamic. Throttle response, adaptive dampeners and exhaust valve opens. I own one and would love for somebody to review them. Only 1600 in the UK currently so quite rare.
I know this isn't Shmee's style but doing like a 2nd hand car challenge where you review some sport orientated cars around 10k or 15k and what you think about them. That would be awesome.
I have to hand it to you Tim, you're dedicated to your channel; I'd be half way across Europe giving that LT the full enchilada without a care in the world.
Good to see you doing these kind of videos too. I'd like that amount of power in my Gti Corolla. I reckon they should rename the Mini, Maxi as they are getting a big large these days !!!
Just one thing, you can manage the event-based lights on the central display off except for changing drive mode notification. First thing I did was turn most of them off including the rev counter as I find them distracting.
As you are going down the hot hatch segment why not have a look at the newly released BMW M140i and give us your opinion on that. Thanks love watching your enthusiasm on all your reviews.
I'd love to see a new drivers guide type of thing. Giving people who are learning to drive or who have recently passed their test, a few ideas on some cars to think about. But obviously some factors come in, insurance, car price, how they perform etc, for a new driver. Would be a very useful video imo.
Honestly these should now be called Maxi Coopers! I had a R56 back in 2007 and when parked next to the R53 it dwarfed it, this F56 dwarfs that! I'm sure it scoots but mass is mass!!
Very nice new series. Ideas for cars: Nissan 350z/370z (Nismo), Volkswagen Golf GTI/R, Mazda MX-5, SEAT Leon Fr/Cupra, Renault Clio/Megane RS, Peugeot 308 GTi, Peugeot RCZ (R), Audi TT (S), Audi S3, Toyota GT86, more?...:)
Hot hatches are becoming very popular, maybe review some of these: Golf GTI/Golf R, Vauxhall/Opel Corsa VXR, Vauxhall/Opel Astra ( GTC ) VXR, Civic Type R, Clio RS. All very normal cars, but very interresting Price/Performance Ratio.
I would really like you to review the new Audi S4. As much as I enjoy your Supercar video and trips... and prefer them to be honest, your reviews seem to cut the jibba jabba. Everything unique about the car seems to be explained well but not too wordy, a real good general oversight over the car!
Hey Tim, please test as well the Golf 7 GTI Clubsport. It's just such a fun Car! Perfect Daily Driver, but as well pretty fast on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Thanks, F. Wolff
You have to test a french hot hatch ! Either the 208 GTi bPS, showing Peugeot's renouveau, or the Mégane RS 275 Cup-S, which represents Renault's savoir faire :)
