I have seen on Chinese sites modified alternators with magnets that claim to produce 220V, 1500W as described. I decided to buy one to test it out and see if what the seller says is true. I received the product and performed the test. The result is disappointing. At a speed of 3370 rpm it produces 201V at a frequency of .449kHz with no load. Connecting a load of about 550W at 3000 rpm, it produces 148V at a frequency of .400kHz. I will try to take apart the alternator to see how the magnets are placed and if they can be modified in any way to get a 50Hz frequency. The reason I say this is that the more poles, at a high rotation speed the frequency increases, and if I remove the poles, the frequency decreases.
