Professional rally racers know, first you must FINISH the race, before you can win the race; thus, these racers, at this level, don't crash very often.
The difference between this and what you see on the Chopito Rally videos could not be more dramatic. 😏😉😆 But then, you are talking a state-of-the-art rally car driven by a championship-quality driver. 🙂

As usual, total insanity, but this was very estethic thx to not overdo just let go a bit earlier and then.... very clean 100 m sideways into... all way thru... and out of the curves. Idk imo new rallycars sound crap but it looked very nimble and good following inputs
I wonder if the driving technique changed compared to 20 years ago. I could swear that the drift angles were higher, back in the days... I know that Loeb always drifted less than McRae, for example. It looked much less spectacular, yet he was as quick, or quicker than McRae. Maybe other drivers adopted that driving technique as well.
It is not technique of driving, it's all about evolution of cars and tires. Latvala is the last driver driving 'spectacular' and not fast to be a champion.
