We decided to take our dogs for a super-long bicycle ride and test the CROOZER DOG bicycle trailer. Check out our Facebook page: Trekker Fox: TrekkerFoxVid/
Most dogs mine include love riding in a trailer after a short while of getting used to it. Weight is a bit of an issue, though, if you don't ride an ebike. Nice Video!
I want to do this and went out and found a really nice barely used one for 50$ . Now I just need one more thing....cool 'old timey' music to play while we're out .lol. great video guys!
is this secure for crazy dogs that like to run away? or can they easily slip out? My dog is medium-sized btw i wanted to know if they can escape from it
Hi, Emma :) Our dog is also medium sized and when the ride is getting a bit bumpy or if we cycle for a longer time, we always remember to keep the front "window" safely closed. It's made of mesh, so the air gets in easily but keeps the dog safely locked in. Actually our dog is a bit crazy too, so on a couple of occasions when we left the front window open, he got a bit too excited at a squirrel or another dog and jumped out. Nothing bad happened but still, this may be risky, especially when there's road traffick nearby. We'd suggest you try out the trailer with your dog by taking him on shorter rides first, so he gest used to this mode of travelling. Perhaps you could rent a trailer before actually buying your own. Cheers!
Hey. I'm looking to buy one of these on Amazon. My dog is a 12kg Poodle so i think it would be great for him. However, my mayor concern is that I live around 8 blocks away to the park I usually go out with him, mostly flat road, but the streets can get somewhat busy (there are no bike lines and some busses). So, is the trailer easy to maniobrate with through the streets? No chance of the tube connecting the trailer hitting the rear wheel of my bike while turning?
Hello! Thanks for your comment! There's no chance of the tube hitting the rear wheel if you connect it properly. We have used this trailer with 3 different bikes and we've never had any problems while turning. Riding on busy roads is of course always a bit stressful, especially for the dog, but the trailer is stable and very light so you should be fine :)
My dog is about 80 lbs. He tends to get excited when near another dog but not too crazy. if he were to try to jump out or bang around while the bike is moving, would it be safe for me and him? also, any advice for narrow or bumpy roads?
Hello, it is never safe if the dog jumps out of the trailer. But the door can be closed to avoid such situations. Well, for narrow or bumpy roads we would advise to go slowly :)
My one complaint right off the bat is the wheels dont have an actual axle.Much prefer an actual axle.Attaching to the frame i think would make the frame warp and sag.
You are right, there is no full axle here but the ride is still very smooth even on a bumpy road. We took this trailer for rides of up to 40 kilometres in one go and it worked very nice
I have a service dog so he goes with me everywhere but I’ve missed being able to cycle places (I hate driving) and I’ve been looking for ways for him to cycle with me. I do have a few concerns about this though. Is it safe to use this on busy streets? How much wait does it add? And is it harder to turn?
There is a Petego Comfort Wagon Bicycle Pet Trailer, Large (which allegedly can carry 165 lbs)... but it's dimensions are smaller than this. This one has big dimensions, but such a tiny weight limit. *sigh* Even Croozer xxl has a weight limit of only 45kg (99 lbs) - which i'm guessing is due to it having no axle. My dog is over 110cm long, and 70cm tall at the shoulder. Finding something to fit is difficult. He's 2kg too heavy for Croozer xxl
How to carry:- *St Bernard *Newfoundland *Leonberger *Great Dane *Irish wolfhound *Scottish deerhound 🙄🙄 Are there any pet bicycle carriers made especially for those giant dogs as well? 🤔🤔
Pulling my dog in a trailer would be boring. I use a sidecar which makes the bike ride more enjoyable for the dog and I. There's sidecars like this trailer that fits most bikes.
You are using on the wrong way the belt, this is to attach to chassis bike, it's a secondary tool, you don't have to use it like on the video, it's dangerous
